Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
3D models: the AfterPub models (plushies, items, props) come from an AI 3D generator; the files are named like Tripo exports.
2D assets: mix between AI and an Actual Human Designer and Artist.
Commentator voice: produced by Piper, an AI text-to-speech engine, while the game runs.
Music: Pixabay tracks.
The player portraits, mascots, team emblems, box paintings and a few event images were generated with image models from the developer's prompts, then hand-keyed and placed. All other art is drawn in the game's own code. No live generation: the game contacts no service.
The music is synthesized from hand-written scores and is not AI audio.
Generative AI Usage Disclosure
Generative AI tools were used during the development of One Last Shot! to generate or assist with the game’s code, character designs, and visual assets. This includes AI-assisted programming, refactoring, and debugging, as well as AI-generated or AI-assisted character concepts, card artwork, backgrounds, UI elements, and other visual assets.
All AI-generated or AI-assisted content included in the released version was reviewed, edited, integrated, and tested by the development team. The game does not use live generative AI during gameplay, and no text, images, audio, or other content is generated at runtime through an external AI service.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist in the creation of selected visual, audio, and text assets. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, curated, and integrated by the development team. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay.
Ratiator is made by a small independent studio, and generative AI is one of the tools that lets a tiny team build a world this big. Every piece of AI-assisted content was directed, selected and refined by us to match our own art direction and design.
Artwork: backgrounds, UI elements, event illustrations, icons and key art were created with AI image tools from our concepts and art direction, then curated, edited and assembled by hand.
3D models: our rats and their household-junk weapons and armour started as AI-generated 3D models built from our concept art. We then rigged, fitted, animated and tuned them with our own tools, so every rat moves and fights the way we designed it.
Animation: a few short cinematic clips and the living light in some backgrounds (flickering lanterns, flowing water) were made with AI video tools and blended into our original paintings.
Writing: story and event texts were drafted with the help of an AI writing assistant, then edited and shaped by us to fit the world and its humour.
Nothing in the game is generated by AI while you play. Every fight, rat and story event is driven by the game's own systems, and no player data is sent to any AI service.
Generative AI tools were used to assist in creating some pre-generated decorative in-game artwork, including wall posters, as well as selected promotional and Steam store artwork. All generated content was reviewed and edited before inclusion. The game does not use live-generated AI content during gameplay.
Generative AI assisted development, including artwork, writing and translations. This includes in-game and Steam store content. The game does not generate new AI content during play.
The game's code, which procedurally generates all 3D models, textures, sound effects and music at runtime, was written with the help of an AI coding assistant, as were the store description, marketing images and trailer. No AI generation happens while the game is running.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist in creating pre-generated audio and other selected content. These assets are reviewed and integrated by the developer before being included in the game or its promotional materials. The game does not use real-time generative AI during gameplay.
Game text and translations were created with the help of AI tools. The public build has no AI voices; it has no voice acting yet. The art is not made with generative AI: it comes from free CC0 asset packs plus shapes and textures built in code. Sound effects are synthesized by our own scripts. Nothing is generated by AI while you play.
Some character portraits were created with generative AI. AI tools were also used to help write and translate the store page and to translate the game's text. The story and dialogue were written by our team.
Logo/branding art: The game's logo and some promotional material was generated using an AI image generation tool.
Modeling: A handfull of props where generated using AI.
Localization: In-game text (menus, UI, dialogue, and other player-facing strings) has been translated into additional languages using AI translation tools, so accuracy and natural phrasing may vary by language.
AI is used solely to assist with development, such as for some localization and the creation of internal tools.
The game does not include any features that automatically generate content in real-time during gameplay.
- AI is used to help write scripts that create or modify some 3D models. In addition to creating many, I also personally refine and finish all models in Blender.
All additional art is human-made:
- Artwork: Created by me and my niece, with some icons licensed from the Unity Asset Store.
- Steam capsule artwork is by @Camilieroart
- Sound effects were created by myself and Kris McNaney, with additional sounds licensed from Uppbeat’s human-made library.
- Original music by Kris McNaney, with additional tracks licensed from Uppbeat’s human-made library.
Artwork: created with generative AI, pre-rendered, hand-curated and edited.
Code and design: 100% human-written, built on a match-3 framework I've developed and shipped five games with since 2012.
Runtime: no AI is used while the game is running.
Some of the images used in the game were created with generative AI tools. However, all questions, answer choices, facts, and other written content were created and edited by humans.
Generative AI was used during development to create certain pre-generated visual assets and character textures included in the game, as well as to assist with translation into certain languages (French, German, and Spanish). These assets are created during development and are integrated into the game; there is no real-time AI content generation during gameplay.
Some game assets and store promotional artwork were created with generative AI before release. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay or connect to external AI services.
Studs Up! ships some pre-generated AI content. All of it was reviewed and edited by hand before it went into the game:
- Player portraits and the end-of-season win/loss backdrops: image generation, converted down to the game's limited-palette pixel formats.
- The match music loop and the match sound effects: audio generation, edited and loudness-normalised.
- The announcer voice in the trailer: voice generation.
No AI runs while you play. The game is fully offline and generates nothing at runtime.
We used AI to generate initial music tracks, concept art, and temporary translations into some languages.
All materials were then thoroughly edited, reworked, and finalized by humans.
Nothing went straight from the generator into the game.
AI-assisted tools were used to assist with the creation of some in-game image assets and promotional materials. No AI-generated content is created during gameplay.
PROF-MAN contains pre-generated visual artwork and voice audio created with the assistance of generative AI tools. Visual assets were created and directed by the developer and subsequently edited and refined as part of the game's art production process. The Professor's voice was created using ElevenLabs. No AI-generated content is created during gameplay.
This game contains content created with the assistance of AI tools. AI was used during development to assist with programming, visual assets, and other creative elements. All generated content was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the dev.
AI was used throughout development for assistance with artwork, audio, code, and prototyping, as a tool, not a magic wand. Everything is directed, edited, assembled, and ultimately blamed on one questionably qualified human developer.
No AI runs during gameplay. It already costs me enough when the game isn't running.
The token bill remains undefeated.
