Public Steam disclosure research 25,394 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Marketing assets (store capsules) created with AI assistance. Game code assisted by AI tools.
This game uses AI-assisted tools for code development and some visual assets. Game design, mechanics, and creative direction are human-made.
We use AI tools during development to speed up routine work, but all final decisions are made by the team. Text translation AI helps with draft translations of UI and in‑game texts, which are then reviewed and edited by human translators to keep the tone and meaning consistent. Code generation AI is used to generate boilerplate code and suggest improvements, while core systems, gameplay logic, optimization and security are always designed, reviewed and tested by developers.
LLMs were used to review code and help with marketing material
In the development of Mudventure, we utilized generative AI technologies to streamline our workflow and enhance the overall gaming experience as follows: Coding Assistance: ChatGPT and Gemini were used as auxiliary tools for code optimization and system architecture design. This allowed our team to focus more on building a stable multiplayer environment. Visual Content: ChatGPT (DALL-E) was used to generate certain static images, such as in-game item icons and textures. All AI-generated assets underwent a manual refinement process to ensure they align perfectly with our game’s unique art style. Audio and Music: We utilized Suno to create the background music (BGM). We carefully curated and edited tracks generated by AI to best capture the mysterious yet casual atmosphere of our mudflat island.
AI tools were used to assist with in-game art and coding, while store assets are mostly hand-made, but all core game systems, economy balancing and gameplay design are original and handcrafted ideas from scratch.
本ゲームでは、ストアページの画像素材、ゲーム本編のグラフィック素材、およびプログラムの一部にAIによる生成ツールを活用しています。
AI was used as a productivity tool to assist in coding and drafting assets. All final content, including art and logic, has been extensively refined and reconstructed by human developers to ensure quality.
Generative AI is used for the source code and translations.
I use generation AI for some original assets during the production process. Less than 1% of the total.
All core content—including mushrooms, ornaments, scenes, animals, sounds, and more—is created, designed, and produced by us personally. AI tools are used solely as an auxiliary means to enhance efficiency (e.g., translation, programming assistance, generating references, etc.).
The developers of this game have used AI for coding and creating voices for marketing only.
Generative AI was used during development to assist with localization and limited code drafting. All final shipped content was reviewed and edited by the developer before release.
AI tools were used strictly during the development phase to assist with writing code scripts and drafting text descriptions. All game mechanics, logic, and assets were manually reviewed, tested, and finalized by the developer.
Some minor use was made of AI, e.g. for coding assistance, or for help with writing text.
AI was used in this game for css and uxml elements, repetitive code tasks, internal tooling and general code debugging
FriedrichAI uses a locally hosted AI model to provide responses, assist with coding tasks, and support general interaction. All processing is performed on the user’s machine. The application does not rely on cloud-based AI services and does not send user data externally. The AI generates text-based responses based on user input and is intended for productivity, development assistance, and general-purpose use.
AI usage has been very light and, in my opinion, the correct/optimal use of AI. AI has been predominately used in the form of a chatbot efficiency tool. I've used it to troubleshoot matchmaking logic flows, I've pasted blocks of text for it to clean up readability or catch spelling errors, I just asked it for the quickest way to change images to grayscale in MS Paint as I was creating Steam Achievements. Things like that. I have hired an artist that claims he does not use AI, though I admit I cannot completely verify that. The hero image and some title art was developed by him. All sprite work in the game itself was made by humans. Music was pulled from various places. My brother-in-law created some songs and did not use AI. Other tracks and sound effects were pulled from free-use websites that did not make any AI disclosures. Really truly, the heart and soul of this game is for humans made by humans. AI has been used, but only as the tool it is meant to be, not as the replacement of human creativity it is slowly elbowing its way into.
The game's codebase was developed with the support of generative AI tools
AI assist us with idea generation for artwork + assets used in some artwork. We use AI code completion to help us with development of the game.
AI tools were occasionally used during development to assist with coding challenges and debugging. All visual assets, audio, and in-game content were created entirely by humans, with no AI-generated art, music, or gameplay elements included in the final product.
No AI was used for art, animation, sound effects, and music. AI tools were only used for scripting assistance, refactoring, and debugging.
I use AI for generation in my programming. ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot, etc.
This game uses AI in the following areas: - 3D models - Textures - Source code - BGM
We use generative AI for some parts of the code.
Generative AI (LLM) was used to assist in translating in-game text. Additionally, AI tools provided assistance in writing, optimizing, and debugging source code.
AI is used for part of the image processing and coding.

Generative AI tools were used to help create and iterate on parts of the game code, sound effects, music, artwork, images, and multilingual translations. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, selected, and integrated by the developer. The game does not use generative AI to create content during gameplay.
AI code assistants were used in incremental development of the game code. No AI art or image assets have been utilized.
Generative AI (Claude by Anthropic) was used extensively during development to assist with code generation. The game's icon was also created with AI image tools. Game design, mechanics, and creative direction were by the developer.
We used AI in some of the UI assets of the game. It was used for ideas as well as to generate some of the icons that would then be cleaned up by us and added in. Our main programmer didn't use any AI for code, but our newbie programmer did use it to help with learning code and to develop/help with smaller portions of the game.
This game has used AI in debugging and some code tweaks with help from a human, and some development assets that have since been replaced with human made assets
The user can only ask her questions and she only answers yes or no regardless of the question.
Some of the art assets in this game were produced with the assistance of AI. The content has been rigorously screened and produced by the developers. Some code is generated and intelligently completed by AI. Any generated code has undergone multiple rigorous tests.
The code of the game is AI generated, and 3 songs of the game, the ones who have vocals in it.
AI is used in the development process, but only for "coding tasks".
We have used AI for prototyping assets and generating / reviewing code.
Generative AI Usage Disclosure This game features content created with the assistance of AI technology. From programming and scriptwriting to music, textures, and artwork—including the protagonist and item icons—AI has played a role in the creative process. Our Commitment: All AI-generated content has been strictly screened, reworked, and manually refined; it is not a direct output. By leveraging AI, I am able to focus my efforts on polishing the atmosphere and optimizing details, ensuring high quality while shortening the development cycle to bring this work to players sooner.
Cursor was used to assist in developing the game code.
Code development is helped by AI.
This game does not use generative AI in real time. Any generative AI content is created only in advance, in accordance with Steam's guidelines. Programming Generative AI tools may be used to assist with code completion, refactoring, and review. All code is subject to final human review before use. Translations For languages other than Japanese, AI tools may be used for translation. Assets Some in-game graphics and promotional images may be created with generative AI tools. All such assets are reviewed and edited by a human, and none are used as-is.
Dice Tech Dominion was developed as a solo indie project with the help of several AI tools during production. Meshy.ai was used to create temporary 3D monster model assets. Midjourney was used to create temporary monster portrait images and related visual concept material. Claude and Codex were used as coding assistants for implementation support, debugging help, project organization, documentation, and assistance with some visual effect and animation logic. All gameplay design decisions, balancing decisions, final implementation choices, editing, integration, testing, and publishing decisions are made by the developer. Some current visual assets are AI-generated or AI-assisted. My goal is to replace the AI-generated imagery and temporary visual assets with original artwork and models created by human artists as the project grows. I am opening paid work opportunities and commissions for artists to help create final human-made monster artwork, illustrations, and visual assets for the game. No AI tool is used to generate live gameplay content during play. The AI tools were used during development as production assistance and temporary asset creation tools.
