Public Steam disclosure research 25,508 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI-generated artifacts
Some images were created by AI
Artificial Intelligence assisted in creation of character cards and shard assets. Character music themes were generated by AI
AI was used exclusively for generating images of people in order to avoid using real individuals.
The store capsule image for this game was created with the assistance of generative AI tools. This asset was pre-rendered during the development process and is static. No AI-generated content is used during live gameplay. All gameplay mechanics, story, and player interactions are hand-crafted by the development team. The AI tools used for the capsule image are commercially licensed, ensuring compliance with the platform's terms of service and intellectual property guidelines.
As a solo developer, I used Generative AI to create minor 2D assets and sprites.
Ai was used to generate rock and trees shapes for xukaackque. Then i later used Gimp2 to color and reshape and then shaders for effect.
Some 3D models were generated using AI, some music was generated using AI, and some pictures were generated using AI.
Some images of the characters are Ai generated
Some of the graphics for this game were designed by AI, and humans created the dots based on the generated images.
Artificial intelligence has been used in order to translate Race or Crash: Secret Racer League's page on Steam and Race or Crash: Secret Racer League's in-game content to all supported languages except Bashkir, English, Russian, and Tatar.
In my game, the main character's voice is AI-generated, and I purchased Eleven Labs' starter pack for it, which gives me the rights for commercial use.
AI was used in the creation of certain visual assets, including character avatars, title screen artwork, promotional materials, and background art. However, these assets still required substantial manual work such as design, sketching, outline drawing, and polishing. The AI was used primarily as a tool for coloring and enhancement, and it did not dictate the creative direction. The visual style remains faithful to the original Little Fighter 2. Some people assume that because AI was used in certain artwork, it must have been applied throughout the entire project. That is far from the truth. I used AI primarily for large-scale visual tasks. To give a clearer picture: the game includes over 3,000 hand-crafted sprite frames, composed from thousands of hand-drawn body parts. In contrast, only about 100 images were AI-assisted, and many of those, such as promotional artwork, don't even appear in the actual game. I understand that some people may have concerns about the use of AI in the creative process. But I hope people can see the broader context and appreciate the amount of manual effort that went into making this game. Please know that I’m a solo developer working with a limited budget. I’ve been developing this project for around 3.5 years; even quitting my full-time job for a year to work on it full time, without expecting it to cover even half of my previous salary. I've done my best to balance quality and practicality. Your understanding and support mean a great deal to me.
The cover art is partially AI-generated, based on snapshots from Strangler’s gameplay.

In our game, AI is used to generate pre-rendered content, specifically for creating descriptive texts for in-game items. These AI-generated descriptions provide detailed explanations, lore, and attributes for various game elements such as weapons, potions, and resources. All AI-generated content is finalized and embedded into the game during development, ensuring that no dynamic AI processes are run during gameplay.
Some music is generated by AI
My game uses pic.posters generated by "Midjourney".
We used AI tools solely to refine some text and generate images for the Steam store page. No AI is used in the game itself.
I used AI to create the preview image.
We use generative AI for some textures, models, and pre-translation for multilingual support.
The game's soundtrack was created with the support of AI
AI has been used to help develop the game's cover art.

AI-Assisted Development and Marketing We believe in leveraging modern tools to enhance our workflow, and that includes using AI for various aspects of our project. For example: We use ChatGPT to help us refine our English and ensure our communication is clear and engaging. For quick and efficient mood boarding, we use MidJourney to generate visual concepts that inspire our creative process. Once the game is complete, we plan to use ChatGPT to assist with translations, making the game accessible in 80+ languages. These tools allow us to focus more on the creative process and make sure our community receives regular updates and clear communication across the globe.
AI use only for in-game miniatures, no in-game content uses AI.
A few images of UI elements in game were made with the help of AI
AI helps me with texts on the Steam page (grammar correction, translations, and texts). AI helps me correct errors in the game code and optimize it (Integrated Microsoft Copilot in the Visual Studio environment). I don't use AI at all for music and sound creation. I don't use AI at all for 3D or 2D graphics creation.

Two music tracks accompanying the in-game radio were created using generative AI.
Our Policy for AI Use Even if, and disclose from time to time that, we use AI in some of our products, it never means that our product consists of AI-generated content, which is simply impossible but may be presumed by some people. We continue our due diligence and necessary efforts to come up with the best content. AI is a field that we keep track of and welcome curiously and excitedly. It is something not the world gives us but what we get from the world according to our requirements. However, We always consider the rights of commercial and ethical use of AI. Therefore, we subscribe to their content, pay their respective fee, and keep their receipts/licenses. How may we use AI? We may use outsourced AI in a number of different ways in addition to our own in-game AI mechanics, as it gives us uniqueness and originality as we like, and as long as its content is compliant with our above policy: Sound files: We have a large collection of audio clips we have purchased and keep purchasing. We also have the means to make our own sound files. Sometimes we may also use AI-made sounds to make audio clips as well if we fail to find what we are looking for in our archive. Graphics: We may use AI for some of our graphical assets. We have various means like software with which we can create characters, particularly our animated characters in the trailers and cutscenes, which are our own unique designs. Ideas: We may chat with AI about whether an idea is suitable for the current genre we are working on. However, we plan to discontinue this use of AI as it lacks originality. For example, when we asked for the names of two female characters for a fantasy game, AI suggested “Anya and Ayleen.” They are obviously names used before and we needed to change the names of our two characters. The above use of our AI may naturally appear on our store page as we include fragments from our game to introduce and promote it. This policy may be subject to change depending on the developments, ethical considerations, and circumstances regarding the use of AI in the future.
