Planet surface images and some other 2D assets are AI-generated
The character illustrations, icons, weapon illustrations, and other UI materials displayed in the game are generated in advance by AI and are used in the game after being manually edited.
Our game is about shooting movies. We also allow players to create their own movies, including having characters say the lines of the movie script. Players can write dialogue and generate audio. The 3D animated characters act out the script.
Generative AI was used in the creation of some in-game portraits, backgrounds, and icons.
Due to the meta-narrative about corporate greed, GPT-models and the regurgitation of modern media, AI was used as a tool for various in-game graphics and marketing phrases, to keep consistent with the theming of the game. The actual story content, audio, gameplay and visual design does NOT use AI generated content.
As a small, two-person startup studio, meeting the full graphical needs of our game is a challenge. To bring our cards to life, we use a combination of original artwork and AI-generated art, ensuring a balance between creativity and efficiency.
We use AI in creation of some images of our game and in our Community Items. For example the infamous "Sinner Santa", owes it's image to the AI.
AI, employed for the purpose of narrative refinement, intricately weaves the storyline into a captivating tapestry while preserving the fundamental essence envisioned by the developer. It is imperative to acknowledge that every narrative and enigma originates from the creative prowess of the developer, whose ingenuity shapes tales grounded in actuality.Only the steam page art are generated with AI.
The product contains images produced by AI that has been trained using data produced and owned by Stardock.
We have used AI-generated content for player-selectable BGM and cover images in the game lobby, as well as voice-overs. Among these, all voice-overs have been completely replaced with professional voice actors' recordings in time for the Early Access release. We are currently conducting an internal investigation regarding unconfirmed content, and all confirmed AI-generated assets will be replaced with human-created assets by the official 1.0 release.
Some UI textures and the musical pieces (except theme song) have been created with the help of generative AI. Contrary to some beliefs, all 3500 products are modelled and textured from scratch (except a few hundres which is from packs) by hired designers over the course of 3 years.
We used AI generated contents just for steam capsule images.
Few images in-game are prepared using AI tools.
Our game's library images (except for the logo with the words "Investormania"), images on the in-game loading screen, in-game avatars are generated with artificial intelligence.
FACEMINER is a concept-driven game that directly engages with the ethics of AI. For thematic purposes, the game features faces which have been generated by a GAN (Generative Adversarial Network) trained on the FFHQ dataset, a research dataset released by NVIDIA that is the backbone of many real-world facial recognition applications. Per NVIDIA, only images under permissive licenses were collected. The 'AI training' in this game is fictional and has been simulated for entertainment purposes. The game can be interpreted as a critique of AI specifically relating to the ecological impact of mass data hoarding, surveillance concerns, and way it is used to compound corporate power.

Various text lines in the game's "News Ticker" were pre-generated with generative AI. All generated text lines have been manually reviewed prior to being published to ensure they are free of any inappropriate or trademarked material. You can disable the game's news ticker in the in-game settings, which will prevent the display of any AI generated content.
Some sprites have been generated using artificial intelligence; however, all of them have undergone a "human" finishing process, including retouching, animation generation, transparency adjustments, etc.
The game does not allow players to use AI
Some textures, 3D models and audio assets were enhanced or made using AI tools.
AI is used for a part of the localization, voice overs, artworks and other marketing materials.
AI was used to edit and manipulate images during development.
The game tutorial uses optional AI generated voiceover.
