Public Steam disclosure research 25,992 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
All art assets were generated using generative AI
Only two images (capsule and library) were generated using AI tools and manually edited afterward. No in-game content or promotional trailers use AI.
In the demo version, to support development, we use AI-assisted tools to create PLACEHOLDER CONTENT ONLY. These assets are temporary and will NOT appear in the final version of the game.

As a small indie team, we may use procedural and/or AI-based tools to assist with the development process. In all such cases, the final product reflects the creativity and expression of our own development team.
In the development stage of the game early concept arts were altered or partly generated using Artificial Intelligence. These generated images were then used as a refference for the artists who worked on the designs of the game.
During the development period, AI generated concept art was used to speed up our process.
To push the creative boundaries of our small team, we used AI-powered audio tools to assist in the generation of certain audio assets. These assets were heavily curated, edited, and refined by our sound designers to ensure they align perfectly with the game's atmosphere and unique artistic vision.
Generative AI was used as a foundational tool for select artwork in this game. All AI-generated base images were extensively reworked, edited, and refined by hand to ensure they perfectly match the game's unique atmosphere and artistic vision. Please note that AI was only utilized for specific assets, not the entirety of the game's artwork.
This game contains content created with the assistance of generative AI during development. Generative AI tools were used to help create and iterate on parts of the game code, sound effects, music, artwork, images, and multilingual translations. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, selected, and integrated by the developer. The game does not use generative AI to create content during gameplay.
Some voices, prompted some cutscene backgrounds.
Background images and landscape visuals were generated with AI and subsequently refined and hand-tuned by an artist.
AI was used to assist with localization of the game and store page into 13 languages. All translations were manually reviewed.
Generative AI was used to help with localization for the languages French, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian.
The current version of the game utilizes a variety of AI-assisted / AI-generated assets to support its development. My intent is to eventually replace or further polish as many of these assets as is feasible during the Early Access journey, though this remains a long-term aspiration. - 2D Assets: Some character portraits, backgrounds, minor textures, and store artwork are generated or enhanced using AI (e.g. style transfer from custom 3D renders and upscaling). These assets are further edited and integrated manually. - Narrative Slides: Images used in story sequences are AI-generated and used with minimal or no manual modification. - Voice Acting: Dialogue voiceovers use text-to-speech (TTS). - Text: Store descriptions, in-game text, and dialogue are written by the developer and refined using AI tools for clarity, consistency, and phrasing (e.g. tooltips and ability descriptions).
The image resources in the game are generated by AI.
I use AI in this project for generation of some static art assets such as title screens, UI elements, Steam store assets, item images in inventory, and the large world map. AI is NOT used for generating the engine-rendered gameplay, with exception of an image of an item dropped to the ground. All environment tiles, objects and decorations, as well as animated entities (humans, monsters, etc) are generated by human artists. This is a very demanding project; should I get more money and access to artists, ideally I would replace all AI assets. Ideally...
Translations into various languages and parts of the background music were created using generative AI.
Some graphical assets are generated using AI as templates. These are then proccesses manually in a custom made animation software or edited in image editing software.
We used AI in some of the UI assets of the game. It was used for ideas as well as to generate some of the icons that would then be cleaned up by us and added in. Our main programmer didn't use any AI for code, but our newbie programmer did use it to help with learning code and to develop/help with smaller portions of the game.
My background image was generated by AI, and it was not used anywhere else.
Localised game text and store updates have been created using translation tools. Game text will receive human review before final release.
All community Steam assets and localizations on this store page have been meticulously created using AI tools.
The user can only ask her questions and she only answers yes or no regardless of the question.
The English description text on the Steam store page is translated using AI, Some of the art assets and music were generated using AI..
We are using generative AI to create initial concepts, textures and manually process them to speed up the product development.
Generative AI tools were used to assist with the creation and editing of artwork for some Steam Store and Library assets, as well as with the translation and localization of game-related text. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, and finalized by the development team. Generative AI is not used to generate content during gameplay, and the game does not connect to any external AI services.
I use artificial intelligence to assist with multilingual text localization and adaptation, in order to make the game more accessible and enjoyable for a wider range of players.
Localization
Some of the art assets in this game were produced with the assistance of AI. The content has been rigorously screened and produced by the developers. This game contains content created with the assistance of generative AI during development. Generative AI tools were used to help create and iterate on parts of the game code, artwork, images, and multilingual translations. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, selected, and integrated by the developer. The game does not use generative AI to create content during gameplay.
Store page localizations, in-game subtitles and localizations.
Some promotional images and visual assets for the game were created using AI-assisted tools during development.
Background music is AI generated
The vast majority of this game's content is hand-drawn and manually crafted. Generative AI was utilized only as a supportive tool for certain concept designs and ambient sound effects. Every asset has undergone manual correction and thorough refinement to ensure it perfectly aligns with the game’s unique quirky-comic art style.
We use AI technologies in a limited capacity during development. AI-assisted tools are used for localization (translation into multiple languages) and for generating some visual assets, such as preview images. The core game content, gameplay design, and the majority of assets are created without the use of AI.
AI tools were used during development for: - assisting with code-related questions, and - refining and improving text, including the store page description and some in-game text. No AI-generated art, audio, models, or raw AI-generated content are used in the game.
Generative AI was used to refine the store page text.
As a small indie team, we have used generative AI tools to help create temporary placeholder assets during development, including some capsule artworks, localization support, and certain in-game icons. All AI-assisted content is reviewed and integrated manually by our team.
Some code is generated and intelligently completed by AI. Any generated code has undergone multiple rigorous tests.
This game uses AI tools in a limited capacity for drafting certain text content (including translation and initial writing drafts) and for the title screen background music. However, all in-game scenarios, character expressions, direction, and game design are created and supervised by the developer. AI is used strictly as a supportive tool, and no content is generated in real-time during gameplay. All final content has been reviewed and edited by a human.
Some of the promotional images were created using AI-generated assets combined with real in-game content to enhance the marketing materials. Please note that the actual gameplay experience is accurately represented in the gameplay screenshots. These promotional images do not depict myself or any personal likeness.
I use AI to improve images.
The developers describe the content like this: This game uses AI tools to assist in creating certain sound effects and visual assets. All AI-generated content was produced during development, manually reviewed, and edited by the developer. No AI content is generated during gameplay.
Localization for languages other than English and Estonian has been generated with help of AI.
Our team utilizes generative AI tools during the art creation process for concept prototyping and base asset generation. All AI-generated content has been extensively refined, repainted, and polished by hand to ensure a consistent visual style, originality, and high artistic quality.
Some art resources are completed with the help of AI.
The code of the game is AI generated, and 3 songs of the game, the ones who have vocals in it.
About 98% of the art assets in this game are human authored. 100% are human edited. Which assets used ai: -7 pro logos that could not be satisfied with dev skills or outsourcing -The purple images in the SportsZone intro. These were generated because no public domain photos of 1990s era football players exist and pixel art or digital art were not appropriate. -The studio background and suit. -The store page assets used public domain images which then received minor ai changes, colors, hair, text, etc. This was done because they needed to look like real photos rather than obvious composites.
The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this: The game contains copyright-free pictures, video, audio generated by the developer using generative artificial intelligence
Development may involve AI and procedural tools, but the final content is shaped and finished by our team
