Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Cutscenes and music were designed and generated by AI tools.
This game uses generated AI for the following purposes - To generate some of the game's program code - To format text in the store to make it easier to read - To translate text into languages other than Japanese - However, the text rarely appears in the game - No content or code is generated live during gameplay
* Some image textures in the game environment are generated by ChatGPT Image Generator
AI was used to generate the cinematics of this visual novel so it could be much more realistic and immersive.
Usage of AI Generated Music, Sound Effects and Art. All Pre-Rendered / Recorded
Some images in the game were generated using AI. These images are displayed throughout the game as gallery artwork and posters. None of it depicts nudity or sexual situations of any kind. Also some of the images are also used as icons and artwork in the store game description page.

AI-generated artifacts
Developer used AI to create marketing materials, community assets, and store capsule images.
Portions of the game's background artwork were generated and enhanced with the assistance of AI tools.
Some visual elements of the game, including promotional graphics, were created using artificial intelligence.
We have used generative AI to create some individual assets (graphics) in eHUB cities and to support the writing of the code. The AI characters in the game are also spoken by AI voices.
Suno AI - Used for Music that is played in game Chat GPT - Used for the billboards shown in game
AI was used to create some images. Textures are generated programmatically, not by AI.
Buyer character profile pictures have been created.
A-Genro is an AI-powered rover that learns from the way you play. Whether it’s your strategy, movement, or combat style, it picks up on your habits and adapts to help you play smarter. Over time, it becomes a personal assistant in the game, giving you support when things get tough and even taking over in auto-pilot mode when needed. The more you play, the better A-Genro gets—becoming a powerful ally that matches your skills and helps you level up your game. Train it, trust it, and let it take your gameplay to the next level!
Some of the background images, such as the one in the game main menu, and the promotional ones, have been generated with generative AI

The artist I paid for used AI to generate parts of the cover art. It wasn't disclosed during the commission that they would use AI assets.
We use AI to generate the voice of the main antagonist of the game in the trailer.
We use AI to let our robots express themselves! If a robot became alive, it wouldn’t come pre-programmed with the perfect way to express its thoughts or emotions — it would have to figure it out along the way. That’s why the hero robots in Endless Machines use AI to give voice to their thoughts and feelings. What they say isn’t always polished or logical. It's quirky, weird, funny, and sometimes unexpectedly touching. It’s not a scripted, perfect dialogue. It’s more like a robot trying to make sense of the world — and itself — in real time. This approach makes their personalities dynamic and unpredictable. For us, that’s what makes AI-driven dialogue a perfect fit for the game: It’s about learning, exploring, and growing — just like the robots themselves. Under the hood, the game runs a small language model that has been custom fine-tuned for each robot's personality. It is instructed to speak through prompt engineering, ensuring the robot stays in character and relates to the game's lore. The model does not require online access. We chose to use SmolLM because we were looking for a language model where the training background, technical setup, and use of data are transparent (open source and based on publicly available texts), and where the model can be run locally. We use this locally hosted language model (LLM) to generate text content during gameplay. What the robots say in the game is defined and moderated by us. We have written a set of foundational texts that form the basis for each robot’s personality, tone, and way of expressing itself. From that foundation, they “build” further and develop over time. Endless Machines does not and cannot collect any data from the person playing the game. All outputs are guided by custom prompt engineering, custom fine-tuning, and are controlled by local code at runtime to ensure appropriate content. More details on the model architecture and dataset can be found here: 🔗 https://huggingface.co/datasets/HuggingFaceTB/smoltalk
AI-generated art object
Some of the game’s loading screens and UI icons / character portraits were created using AI tools during development. These assets are pre-generated (i.e. not generated in real-time during gameplay), are original, and do not depict real people or copyrighted material. All rights are retained by the developer.
This game makes limited use of generative AI tools. Some texts, such as tooltips, short descriptions, or inspirational drafts, were partially created with ChatGPT and then manually edited. Adobe Firefly was used to generate early concept images, which were further processed and stylistically refined in Photoshop. All final assets have been thoroughly reviewed and manually adjusted. The game does not include any generative AI functionality during runtime.
This is a handcrafted project developed entirely by a solo creator. AI tools were used for proofreading and English translation. Some specific images were conceptualized with the assistance of AI and later manually refined. Additionally, seven background music tracks were created using AI-assisted composition tools. All content is properly licensed and cleared for commercial use.
The in-game music was AI-generated for budgetary reasons. This does not affect gameplay or the real-time user experience.
Just used for steam page art.
This game includes some content created with the assistance of AI tools. All AI‑generated assets have been reviewed, refined, and integrated to ensure originality and compliance with copyright and trademark standards.
The current iteration of the game (the 5th Dimension World Builder application) does not utilize A.I. technology. However the beta release of the game following the end of early access in 2026, will empower players to create in-game companions called Mechs that will utilize large language model technology to produce humanlike conversational responses to questions and comments from players during the course of gameplay user experience
The header capsule, library header, and loading screen use AI generated images

With Skybox AI you can easily create worlds with simple text prompts, remix them to be a completely different world, and edit your world to add or remove elements.
Only the JusTD logo, without the text, so basically no A.I. content. The languages - other than English and Hungarian - were translated using ChatGPT and Google translate!
This game is programmed using AI.
AI used to generate parts of graphical assets for the store page, marketing materials and community assets. In game, AI was used by a designer to help generate two skybox backgrounds only. AI was used to help create a portion of the art for the game that is difficult and time consuming starting from nothing. This art is of some of the characters and objects in the game that had their rough form generated using google Gemini. All of the AI images generated were modified to match my game's world, and were made to be distinct and original from any other creative works. for example, one of the characters has an image of a beetle shell placed over his face among other artistic design changes to the original AI generated body.
AI generated images used in a satirical context.
I'm using AI to generate the store capsule image, running the AI locally on my PC. The image does not violate any copyrights and accurately represents content from my game.
I'm using AI to generate some artwork for loading screen or menu background, i didn't want them to be empty so i used AI to make it more interesting
The music was generated with help of AI. Store images were generated with help of AI.
AI was used for localizations.
Promo materials.
I use generative AI in Chaos Machina for the following: 1. Generating background for some promotional materials (example is Steam Capsule). 2. Grammar check of all written text. 3. Translation of Chaos Machina text to languages that are not English and Croatian.
Image generation is used for quick concepts and temporary assets during development. LLMs are used for temporary localization, proofreading, research, and boilerplate or other low-impact code (such as tests). Music, sound effects, text, and voice acting are entirely human-made. No AI-generated art will be present in the released game.
Store page: AI was used to localize the marketing text and to create the store banner. In-Game: AI was used to localize the in-game text.
noRma's photo was invented and then generated by AI. The English voice in the introduction is spoken by an AI.
Some images and videos used in in-game signs Character voices: AI placeholders; professional voice acting is intended for a future update. Translations
