Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI is only used to generate icon assets.
The only use for AI is for some noise textures. Every 3D model and idea is mine only.
Yep, we used AI – but only to whip up some promo images for our Steam page and a few static visuals in the game. The rest? 100% human-made, with love, coffee, and probably too many late nights.
AI is used to help create character images, translations, music, and voices.
The content for the game (images of objects, ships, UI elements) was generated by artificial intelligence at the game development stage. The content does not change in any way during the game.
use only for covers
Various assets that have been hand crafted have been run through AI filters to either improve or create variations of the original media.
album art for some songs and other random textures
AI was used for the creation of the fake artwork that you will have to detect during the game, as well as for the visual elements of the game.
I have used AI for generating some of the UI elements such as Buttons, Icons and Shapes in the Game. In addition, I have used AI for generating achievement icon.
AI was used for generation of players' faces and in-game logos.
Code: Only when I was absolutely stuck on something and needed help troubleshooting. All the actual development and implementation was hands-on. Music: The in-game songs were created using AI generation tools.
Some of the visual assets used on the store page and certain in-game 2D materials were created using AI-generated images.
Some Assets are AI generated.
In the game we used art assets generated by artificial intelligence: banners for game page on Steam, UI and character voicing
Remastering of characters avatar.
We use AI to generate achievements images and also use AI tools to help with translation.
The artwork of the townspeople and the collectible artwork in the "Image Gallery" used generative AI.
Our Policy for AI Use Even if, and disclose from time to time that, we use AI in some of our products, it never means that our product consists of AI-generated content, which is simply impossible but may be presumed by some people. We continue our due diligence and necessary efforts to come up with the best content. AI is a field that we keep track of and welcome curiously and excitedly. It is something not the world gives us but what we get from the world according to our requirements. However, We always consider the rights of commercial and ethical use of AI. Therefore, we subscribe to their content, pay their respective fee, and keep their receipts/licenses. How may we use AI? We may use outsourced AI in a number of different ways in addition to our own in-game AI mechanics, as it gives us uniqueness and originality as we like, and as long as its content is compliant with our above policy: Sound files: We have a large collection of audio clips we have purchased and keep purchasing. We also have the means to make our own sound files. Sometimes we may also use AI-made sounds to make audio clips as well if we fail to find what we are looking for in our archive. Graphics: We may use AI for some of our graphical assets. We have various means like software with which we can create characters, particularly our animated characters in the trailers and cutscenes, which are our own unique designs. We may use AI in this particular game in relation to the environment and some of the ancillary icons, finishings, and corrections. Ideas: We may chat with AI about whether an idea is suitable for the current genre we are working on. However, we plan to discontinue this use of AI as it lacks originality. For example, when we asked for the names of two female characters for a fantasy game, AI suggested “Anya and Ayleen.” They are obviously names used before and we needed to change the names of our two characters. The above use of our AI may naturally appear on our store page as we include fragments from our game to introduce and promote it. This policy may be subject to change depending on the developments, ethical considerations, and circumstances regarding the use of AI in the future.
Our game is about shooting movies. We also allow players to create their own movies, including having characters say the lines of the movie script. Players can write dialogue and generate audio. The 3D animated characters act out the script.
Generation of pictures.
We used AI to design the capsules featured on the game's store page.
Generative AI was used in the creation of some in-game portraits, backgrounds, and icons.
Our team uses AI to generate voice acted characters and to translate all localizations into every supported language.
Uses pre-rendered AI assets.
In our game, AI is a powerful ally that has significantly increased our productivity. It helps us create new scenarios, which are then refined by our art team, allowing us to offer an expanded variety of playable environments for players. Additionally, we plan to integrate AI-generated dialogues to dub the game into multiple languages. This dubbing process would be impossible for our small studio without AI support. With this approach, we aim to make our game accessible to a global audience and provide a localized and authentic gaming experience in different languages. In summary, AI plays a crucial role in our development process, enabling our small studio to achieve great feats and provide players with a rich and immersive experience.
The intro video was created by reprocessing AI-generated footage. 30% of the English and Chinese translations, excluding Korean, were generated by AI. Other languages were mostly translated by AI.
AI was used to revise, troubleshoot, and enhance code during development, including generating formats and adding logic based on common C# practices. All assets, such as images, sounds, and other content for the game, store page, marketing materials, and community assets, were ethically sourced and created without AI tools.

Visual art
This game uses AI-generated content for: Store capsule artwork All AI content has been reviewed and edited by our development team to ensure quality and appropriateness.
The main uses of AI in the creation of this game were for minor coding problems, such as what sorting algorithm to use and detecting bugs occasionally. The second main use was the art. The majority of art in the game is ai generated, but there are no influences on the generation based off of real images. All generated images are random and pre-generated. Keep in mind none of the names in the game are ai generated.
AI was used to generate initial assets for the ship's computer voice, nebula backgrounds, and some translations, all of which were subsequently refined by the developer.
The achievement icon in the game store is generated using AI
We use AI for some cutscene voice lines and some game translations.
Some UI textures and the musical pieces (except theme song) have been created with the help of generative AI. Contrary to some beliefs, all 3500 products are modelled and textured from scratch (except a few hundres which is from packs) by hired designers over the course of 3 years.
The New Boss: Football Club utilizes pre-rendered generative AI to enhance the depth and visual variety of its world. This includes: Character Portraits: Thousands of unique AI-generated faces for players and staff to ensure every 'fake name' in our database has a distinct identity. Environmental Artwork: AI-assisted imagery used in game menus, background art, and narrative events to create a gritty, atmospheric 5th-league experience. Marketing Materials: Select store assets, trailers, and promotional videos have been created or enhanced using AI tools to visualize the journey of the 'New Boss.' All AI content is pre-rendered and integrated into the game files to ensure a high-quality, stable, and consistent experience for all players.
Some music pieces are generated by Suno AI and labled. They have been purchased and can be used in commercial ways.
The game capsule art is generated using Open Source AI. I am wokring on replacing that with none-AI Art
Artwork for the cards was created using local AI models.
FACEMINER is a concept-driven game that directly engages with the ethics of AI. For thematic purposes, the game features faces which have been generated by a GAN (Generative Adversarial Network) trained on the FFHQ dataset, a research dataset released by NVIDIA that is the backbone of many real-world facial recognition applications. Per NVIDIA, only images under permissive licenses were collected. The 'AI training' in this game is fictional and has been simulated for entertainment purposes. The game can be interpreted as a critique of AI specifically relating to the ecological impact of mass data hoarding, surveillance concerns, and way it is used to compound corporate power.
Some Assets Were Modified with the Help of AI.
AI was used to generate old version of steam page banner, and now it's as main image on most of community news.
This game contains pre-generated AI-created 2D images and textures developed during production. All AI-generated assets were reviewed and manually integrated by the development team. No AI-generated content is created during gameplay.
To create a unique art style, I employed various technical methods during development, including the use of AI-generated tools to assist in producing some of the materials. These tools significantly streamlined my workflow as a solo developer, allowing me to focus more on core gameplay and detailed refinement. This approach ultimately delivers a richer and more immersive post-apocalyptic world for players. All content has been carefully curated, refined, and integrated to ensure it aligns with the game’s overall quality and artistic vision, while also complying with applicable copyright regulations.
