Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI was used to background music tracks.
All coding was done by us. Artwork and SFX/Music was again either done by us or bought from third parties. We don't use AI for any creative element of the game. To make our game playable for as wide an audience as possible we used AI to generate our translations. If you find it's done a poor job in your language, please let us know on discord!
Some sounds and images were AI generated. All AI content was checked by real person. We also used deepL AI for localizations
I'm a solo developer and not experienced with 3D art, so I used AI tools for parts of this game: some sound effects were generated with an AI audio tool, the logo and key art (also used for the store artwork and icons) were created with an AI image generator, and about half of the item artwork was made with AI-assisted tools and then reworked. Item names and descriptions and the store page text were written with the help of AI tools and reviewed by me; the translations were also created with the help of AI tools. With support from others, I would like to gradually replace the AI-assisted item artwork with assets made by people.
Cover art made with the help of AI tools.
Uses for some scripting Uses for some audio
Some of the artwork (including store art) and the music were created with the help of generative AI tools, then selected and edited by the developer. Translations were also prepared with AI assistance. No AI content is generated while you play.
As a solo developer AI helped me with: - fine tuning text and Steam store descriptions - solve complex coding issues - visuals are not "ai" generated, but all visuals are programmatically generated within my own software, and the scripts that do that, are optimised by AI coding tools
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with the creation and refinement of certain in-game visual assets, promotional artwork, and portions of text/localization. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer. No generative AI is used during gameplay, and no content is generated live for players.
The player portraits, mascots, team emblems, box paintings and a few event images were generated with image models from the developer's prompts, then hand-keyed and placed. All other art is drawn in the game's own code. No live generation: the game contacts no service. The music is synthesized from hand-written scores and is not AI audio.
Some visuals generated with AI assistance
Generative AI was used for in-game graphics.
Generative AI was used during development to create in-game collectible cover artwork, as well as store and marketing artwork and text. These assets are prepared in advance. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay or connect to a live AI service.
This game contains content created with the assistance of AI tools. AI was used during development to assist with programming, visual assets, and other creative elements. All generated content was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the dev.
Artificial Intelligence is used to help with creating art.
The game's sprites, characters and building artwork were created with generative AI image tools, and the background music tracks were created with generative AI audio tools. All assets were selected and integrated into the game by the developer. Gameplay, design and sound effects were made without generative AI. The game does not generate any AI content during play and does not connect to any AI services.
The store page description was drafted with help from an AI writing assistant and reviewed by the developer. The game includes AI-generated voice audio made with Kokoro TTS from developer-written scripts, including waiting-room broadcasts, public-address announcements, and story voices. The game does not generate new content with AI during play; staff and patient behavior uses authored, rule-based simulation systems. No game art or text is AI-generated.
Generative AI was used to create some pre-rendered artwork, including store and promotional art and selected in-game visuals such as terrain, resources, animals, and characters, as well as some music and audio assets. These assets are prepared before play. Arid Frontiers does not generate content with AI during gameplay or connect to a third-party generative AI service during play; pawn behavior, colony simulation, combat, wildlife, and events are driven by programmed game systems.
Generative AI was used during development to create in-game artwork, music, sound effects, text, and translations, as well as store and promotional artwork. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay.
AI tools were used to help translate the game, locate and fix bugs.

AI was used to generate artwork and music.
During the development of FOOTBALL EXECUTIVE 27, generative AI tools were used to assist with parts of the program code, localization, and the editorial review of user interface and in-game text. All AI-assisted content was manually reviewed and revised before being included in the game. No content is generated by generative AI during gameplay, and no player input is transmitted to any external AI service.
Used on capsule photos
Generative AI was used to create selected promotional artwork for the Steam store page and to assist with the localization of store text. All generated content was reviewed and edited by the developer. No generative AI is used during gameplay, and the game does not connect to external AI services.
This game uses generative AI tools to help create some of the visual assets displayed in the game and on its store page, including select images and icons. All gameplay systems, mechanics, and code are designed and implemented by the development team. AI-generated visuals are reviewed and curated before being included in the final product.
The track announcer and color commentator voices, including the horse-name calls, use AI text-to-speech voices (ElevenLabs), pre-generated during development and built into the game - no AI voice generation happens while you play. All game design, race simulation, wagering math, career systems, UI, code, and the horse and track roster were built by the developer.
AI tools (Anthropic Claude) assisted the developer with the code, the vector art, the texts and translations, and the synthesized music and sound effects. Everything was directed and reviewed by the developer. No AI runs in the game and nothing is generated at runtime.
Some visuals were created with AI assistance.
Some character, background and icon artwork was created using AI tools and edited during development.
As a solo developer, I used generative AI tools as part of the visual production workflow for selected assets. All final materials were carefully reviewed, edited, and refined by hand before being included in the game.
background music, sound effects, text, some sprites
AI tools were part of our process, helping with the game's art, writing and translations. Everything was shaped and reviewed by us, and nothing is generated by AI while you play.
Some content in this game was created with the help of generative AI during development. - Drafts of in-game text such as news articles, interviews and guidance messages - Translations into languages other than Korean - Some graphic elements, such as karts and maps
Every course/character & kit image is generated (gemini-3-pro-image-preview), and the voice work is ElevenLabs.
During development, we used generative AI tools to create some of the content included in the game, such as images, text, and audio. During gameplay, generative AI may create audio content in response to race events. We have implemented safeguards to prevent or reduce the generation of illegal or inappropriate content.
The store page capsule and library images (key art and logo) were created with the help of an AI image generator as temporary placeholders. They will be replaced with hand-made artwork in the future. The game itself does not use generative AI.
AI was used to enhance store page image assets.
AI-assisted tools were used during development to create some visual assets, including some artwork. These assets are included as pre-generated game content.
As a solo developer, generative AI tools were used to assist in creating promotional capsule artwork and achievement icons. All gameplay mechanics, coding, and game design were created directly by the developer.
Language Translations
AI was used to assist with text and UI art/design during development.
The English, Finnish and German texts on the store page and in the game are written by our team; all other languages are translated with AI.
Generative AI tools were used during development to create some pre-generated 2D artwork, including item icons, characters and environments, as well as store and marketing materials, including the cinematic teaser. These assets were selected, prepared and integrated by the development team. The game does not generate content using AI during gameplay or connect to external AI services.
Store images are ai generated.

Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with the creation and refinement of some textures and 3D assets.
The store page texts and the pixel-art game logo and icon (also used in the game) were created with the help of an AI assistant and reviewed by the developer. Screenshots and capsule backgrounds are rendered directly from the game.
