Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
ai used to aid in generating store text and in-game code
We use AI technology only in one very specific way: to bring the ship’s computer to life with a voice. These lines are generated during development, not in real time. Every sound is carefully reviewed, optimized, and fine-tuned by us until it feels authentic and exactly how we imagine a spacecraft’s onboard system should sound. Our goal is immersion. The AI voice is a tool that helps us craft a computer voice that feels convincing and consistent, so that when you sit in the cockpit, it really feels like your ship is speaking to you.
AI was used to generate certain 2D visual elements and a majority of voice acting.
We are using ElevenLabs for some of our Voice-over production for Train Sim World® 5. All scripts and content are ours, but the voiceover itself has an AI element.
Some images were used for loading screens and brief story descriptions. All of these images have been licensed for use.
All voice acting is AI generated. Significant parts of the code were written with the help of AI.
text to speech voices
AI tools were used for some robot voices, images used with one of the puzzles, and some elements in the story video.
Game logo and clan images generated by AI
This game use AI to create card image. All cards generate by Midjourney and can use commercially by Midjourney's policy.
Icons for achievements generated by AI.
AI was used to create marketing materials and for localization.
Using AI allowed us to translate ANGST into the following languages: French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Turkish.
We got help from AI in creating the game content and dialogues.
In our game, new designs can be made using pre-prepared AI visuals.
We are developing our own in-house machine-learning model which is trained on publicly available open-source data and vetted to prevent the use of any copyrighted material. This ML model is used to generate base terrain maps in Unreal Engine 5 which are then populated procedurally with custom made assets such as the trees, rivers, rocks, and hills you explore. Our artists and designers use our ML model to allow us to generate 64km2 maps that look and feel natural and realistic. The game generates a new map offline on your system every time you play.
There is not usage of AI in game, just used sometimes to help us to generate content ( images and text )
AI is used for prerendered textures in the game and also for translations of languages, the manuals, and images for example like achievements, trading cards etc.
Carceri's story portrays a world made by programs, for programs. While ALL the writing, music, and 3D art in this game was created by a single human being, there is an Art Gallery in-game that contains 50 images, 17 of which have been generated by AI, (that are all clearly marked as such). These are fictionally portrayed as art works created by the characters (programs) of this world. No names of modern, living artists were used to generate these images. The prompts were words such as: Hudson River school, old masters, Delacroix, robots, abstract geometry, landscape. From there, I photo-shopped all images so that none are 100% unaltered from the generation process. Acknowledging generative imagery's existence is important to the world-building and meta-narrative of Carceri, so this was the fairest way I could think to include a small dose of these works, which are divisive by their very nature.
This game uses generative AI to assist in the creation of certain visual assets.
Generative AI was used to create some parts of the images for the Steam page
Whilst building our game “Realms of Alterra”, we have had the unique opportunity to craft our game world around these agents. Building the game world in tandem with the AI has allowed us to simulate societies. I will now go into more detail about the ingredients that make up the technology we have built. Our characters currently utilize an internal monologue to guide its interactions. This is based on a number of factors such as relationships, feelings, and its observation about the current world. The crucial component that ties it all together is the use of an adaptive long term memory, which allows AIs to recall all interactions its had with different people, as well as significant events that have happened. Relevant memories recalled based on what is happening to the character at the moment. Our system of emotions allows us to determine how a character is feeling at any given time; These are used to then further guide the behavior of our characters, both in speech and decision making. With regards to autonomy, our agents can freely choose what to do in the world. We accomplish this by making the available actions known to each character, and giving them the option to choose their intention, which is then executed on the game engine. In the near future we plan to include task planning and reprioritization, which allows each character to dynamically change its priorities, and thus its behaviors, constantly as the world changes around them. In addition to this, we also plan to improve the memory system to include relationship and associative memories, which allow for more complex reasoning and conditioning behaviors We think that this is the future of RPG gaming. With our technology, we can create a new market of gamer- the social gamer to freely interact in a social simulation sandbox where anything is possible. I can’t be the only one who has wondered what would happen if I just took my pants off in the middle of an important business meeting, how people around me would react, and how my life would change as a result of that interaction. With a social simulation sandbox, these burning questions can be answered!
We used generative AI tools to create base 3D meshes for some of the NPCs and initial compositions for achievement icons. These assets were not used 'as-is'; our team manually performed UV unwrapping, created custom texture masks, and modified the materials to ensure they work with our custom-made in-game shaders. This manual rework allows the assets to match our game’s unique visual style, performance standards, and lighting requirements.
I've used AI to help create concept art, help outline some general story and eventually voice acting until I can afford to pay someone to do all of those things.
Artificial intelligence is used only for the design of the store page.
AI used for game artwork
DALL-E 3 has been used to generate background images and some UI related elements.
We use Replica Studio and/or similar tools to voice our NPCs in the game.
I am utilizing AI technology exclusively for generating voice acting for the characters within my game.
The game's menu screen is AI-Generated, because unfortunately I am not a digital artist. Also, the posters/images used for the game's Steam page are just the same image that is in the Main Menu. And Jesus Christ's mogging images, because they never took any pictures of Jesus mogging anybody :(
Photoshop generative fill for some store page elements, mostly used for recovering/filling in gaps, and some backgrounds
Some of the visual assets both in the game and in the promotional materials were created with AI's help.
主要是UI和图片素材。
Some user interface images (fuel bar) have been created with the help of AI tools. Map image has been edited with the help of AI tools. Some concept art and inspirational material for the game was created with the help of AI tools.

AI in Truck Manager has been used for image creation for some splash arts and characters.
We used AI voice synthesis tools for the voiceovers and some of the music in the game.
AI was used to generate some of the sound effects. Also, AI was used to generate the background image in the loading screen.
AI-assisted tools were used to prepare some of the imagery on the Store Page. The game itself is AI-free.
We used generative AI tools during the production of our Gameplay Trailer. These tools were employed to create a portrait of the character Gramps Makar, animate it, and generate a short voice line for the trailer.
The game uses some icons and visuals that were previously created with artificial intelligence (some in-game visuals and capsule image, etc...)
使用AI绘制了人物立绘等
AI was used to create some of the images and 3d models.
Concept art and certain in-game audio and pictures are AI-generated.
