Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
We've generated some of the pictures of characters with ai. The characters you can interact with in the game.
Used to generate store and library images. And a few images for menu in game.
Only Graphical Images on the Steam store page & library. NOT Actually screenshots or footage of the game, Those ARE UNALTERED.
Only the key (capsule) art for the game is AI generated.
We use AI to generate achievements images and also use AI tools to help with translation.
Unyha uses AI to generate stories about the players' characters, their heirlooms, and the world.
We used AI to create capsules for the Steam page and we used voice acting that has AI.
AI-generated art is from https://modelslab.com and NPC chat is via ChatGPT.
In our game, new designs can be made using pre-prepared AI visuals. We earn money by hanging these designs as posters or on billboards.
Voice-over for NPCs.
AI-Generated images are used for game cover of the store page and some in-game textures.
There is one Image on the Top that is Partially AI generated, and there are 2 songs in the game that are AI... but nothing else.
Note on voice output: This game uses AI-generated voices for voice output. The dialogues and texts were written by the developers and then set to music using modern text-to-speech systems. The aim is to provide consistent audio quality and make the content accessible to players with different language preferences. Please note that these are not professional voice recordings, but synthetically generated voices.
Language translations, except for Russian, were done using neural networks. The playing cards in "Koschuny" were created with the help of a neural network. The game cover on Steam was partially created by a neural network and touched up by an artist.
The game is developed solo, and during Early Access I’ve occasionally used AI-generated placeholders — some of which I actually quite like. These are temporary and will likely be replaced over time.
We utilize generative AI tools during the development process to enhance the overall quality and depth of the game's world. Specifically: Character Models: The mesh for the game’s final boss was created using AI-assisted generation tools, then manually refined to ensure high-quality technical standards. Localization: AI tools are used to assist in translating game text into multiple languages, which are then manually reviewed and polished for accuracy. Marketing Materials: Some promotional assets and store page visuals may include elements enhanced by AI to better represent the game's tactical vision.
Some visual drawings and video titles were made using artificial intelligence.
We got help from AI while creating the store page
We use AI-assisted gendered voices using a voice sampler, not cloning voices of real people. We rely on Eleven Labs and Replica Studios.

Generative Ai used for artworks and UI Elements
The developer is a skilled artist who has created all of the art, except for some music and sound effects that were partially generated by different AI software to ease the cost and workload of solo development.
Our Cover art uses partially procedurally generated elements shown on the shop page and ingame. The final product was crafted and edited by our artists.
We integrated with Meshy to allow players to generate 3D furniture and decor for their rooms using a text prompt. Any 3D assets generated in this way are purely for personal use and cannot be placed on our download center. Generative AI was not used in the making of our 2D artwork or included 3D assets.
This game uses AI to generate character avatars and a little CG. The AI models used are Anything and QTea, and the generation tool StableDiffusion is used
AI has been used in image generation for the portraits of the characters. These images are then post-processed through a quantizer, which lowers the resolution and quantizes the image into only having the colors from my color palette.
AI was used a bit for 2D artwork.
Some voice acting is generated using AI models trained on professional voice actors who have given their consent and are being compensated for their work.
AI tools have been like an extra set of hands (or brains) for our small indie dev team. They've played a quiet yet invaluable role in helping us draft initial concept art and brainstorm our way through tricky design challenges. Being Polish native speakers, AI has also been particularly helpful in fine-tuning our writing, ensuring our game's narrative is as engaging as possible.
We used AI to create the voices for John, Ellie, Matt, and Becca. This is a temporary solution; we intend to replace these audio tracks with professional voice acting as soon as possible.
Pre-generated AI images
Capsule and Library imagery integrate AI generation.
This game utilizes AI for certain design elements and NPC behavior patterns.
I've used AI to help with spell checks / grammer and voice over in the trailer.
Apostle Games uses purchased & licensed AI assisted artwork for its in-game character portraits, occasional in-game environment backgrounds, and marketing materials on its Steam page. All AI assisted artwork has been repainted by a human artist to work seamlessly within the game world, using the AI assisted artwork as a base only.
We utilized AI tools to generate internal references for composition and framing. These outputs were then used as a base to manually create handcrafted pixel art assets, ensuring all final in-game visuals follow our custom palettes and artistic standards.
Use of AI for Artistic Elements: In Z Ops: Deadzone, we use artificial intelligence to generate certain artistic assets, including characters, environments, and icons. AI allows us to explore a wide variety of visual styles and create graphical elements more efficiently. Each AI-generated asset is carefully refined to ensure it aligns with the overall art direction of the game and integrates seamlessly into the game’s universe. This approach helps speed up the creative process while maintaining a consistent and immersive quality.
AI was used to help with code, writing, and visuals since the project was made on an extremely small budget.
Some of the banners on the page have been partially created using AI tools.

We used AI service to make chatting with some NPCs in our game more fun and personalized for you. Your chat with the NPCs you can talk to will be periodic. You will have to wait for a while before you can talk to them again.
We use AI in creation of some images of our game and in our Community Items. For example the infamous "Sinner Santa", owes it's image to the AI.
Parts of the game store page's text and graphics are AI pre-rendered.
AI, employed for the purpose of narrative refinement, intricately weaves the storyline into a captivating tapestry while preserving the fundamental essence envisioned by the developer. It is imperative to acknowledge that every narrative and enigma originates from the creative prowess of the developer, whose ingenuity shapes tales grounded in actuality.Only the steam page art are generated with AI.
Alle Sätze der Sprecher im Spiel sind mit einer Text to Speech Software KI generiert.
AI is used to generate text for some specific NPCs with non-interactive dialogue.
Some elements of the images were textured using AI.
Generative AI is used for translations into languages I do not master and to create early 3D model prototypes. These prototypes are manually refined before being integrated into the game. No generative AI is used during gameplay or to dynamically generate in-game content.
We have used open source LLMs trained on our game's lore and dialogue to generate quests. We have used our own private NeRF systems to generate some 3D models. Some of our marketing materials, game icons, and concept art was generated using art we had designers create under contract for this game. That art was used to train an open source generative system.
We used generative AI for: art on the store page, and some in-game textures. Each AI-generated content was then manually adjusted by our in-house artist to ensure the presence of human input in the art and high quality of the game.
