Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
* Contents below are copied from the game, the soundtrack does not use any Generative AI technology.
User will be able to talk in freeform with the NPCs within the game world according to the environment given to them.
Some of the evidence (photos on the wall, book covers) have been created using AI tools
Some images in the game were partly designed by artificial intelligence image generation. They were adapted in a unique way to fit in the general theme.
We used generative AI for: art on the store page, and some in-game textures. Each AI-generated content was then manually adjusted by our in-house artist to ensure the presence of human input in the art and high quality of the game.
There was AI image generation used for creating bases for some environment textures, those bases were heavily modified by hand to fit the game from the original texture spit out by AI.
The cover art and character poses and expressions in our game were initially generated using AI during the development phase to enhance the creative process. These elements were then redrawn by our art team to ensure quality and originality. Additionally, the story text within the game was refined, proofread, and translated with the assistance of AI tools. No real-time AI content is generated during gameplay, ensuring players receive a consistent and controlled gaming experience.
A few background concepts were generated with AI that retains respect to artist copyright (Adobe Firefly) but we are still working on reworking these few instances with our art team!
This application allows usage of elevenlab's text to speech feature. Shall the user choose to use this feature, they should create an account over elevenlabs.com and import their API key. It's entirely optional and subject to both Noise-o-matic's EULA as well as elevenlab's EULA.
The TTS feature also uses Sherpa TTS. Some of the redistributable models available from Sherpa's project (https://github.com/k2-fsa/sherpa-onnx/releases/tag/asr-models) are downloadable in-app.
This game uses AI-generated content for:
Store capsule artwork
All AI content has been reviewed and edited by our development team to ensure quality and appropriateness.
We use Windows Co-Pilot to answer questions regarding development tools (eg. how to approach technical problems) and Co-Pilot for Visual Studio Code to help improve coding efficiency (eg. code auto-completion).
For the MVP of the Development version of the game 3D models, 2D sprites, sound and music are part wise AI generated. These assets will not be used for the release of the game but instead replaced by human-made assets.
Some object textures are AI generated to apparently look AI generated as a commentary, distorted and non human (dreamtexture plugin for Blender with prompts like "AI looking alien food" and such.
Pictures of faces have been generated with this-person-does-not-exist.com to look like conventionnaly beautiful but generic portraits, again foreshadowing the idea what a person looks like, from an AI, algorithmically driven system.
We have used AI-generated content for player-selectable BGM and cover images in the game lobby, as well as voice-overs. Among these, all voice-overs have been completely replaced with professional voice actors' recordings in time for the Early Access release. We are currently conducting an internal investigation regarding unconfirmed content, and all confirmed AI-generated assets will be replaced with human-created assets by the official 1.0 release.
Narrator uses AI voice over work as a placeholder.
Currently the final game is slotted to feature 100% human actors for maximum expression. An example of this is the demo's ending cutscene.
The main uses of AI in the creation of this game were for minor coding problems, such as what sorting algorithm to use and detecting bugs occasionally. The second main use was the art. The majority of art in the game is ai generated, but there are no influences on the generation based off of real images. All generated images are random and pre-generated.
Keep in mind none of the names in the game are ai generated.
GenAI is used to create 2D character design concepts as reference images for 3D modeling.
It is also used for some UI icons, a limited number of 3D asset models, and translation of in-game character dialogue.
In some of the game's cutscenes, we have used AI tools to generate several images to help present the story. These images have been edited and refined to enhance the player's visual experience.
We are committed to providing rich content for our players and will continue to leverage innovative technologies to improve the overall game experience.
Due to our team having only one artist and one engineer, using AI assistance during the development process is crucial. This technology saves a significant amount of time and resources, helping us maintain momentum in our development efforts. We primarily apply AI technology during the drafting stage to expedite the design process and improve efficiency. Specifically, we only utilize AI assistance for certain game scenes and objects, with final adjustments made manually to complete the final drafts. As for character illustrations within the game, they are entirely designed and finalized by the artist from start to finish.
AI Disclosure
Artificial intelligence tools were used during development to assist with the creation of some promotional artwork and visual assets for the Steam store page.
All in-game content, gameplay systems, level design, code, and narrative elements are created manually by the development team.
No AI-generated content is used during gameplay, and no AI systems are active while the game is running.
AI was used to generate initial assets for the ship's computer voice, nebula backgrounds, and some translations, all of which were subsequently refined by the developer.
AI has been used in a limited way* for the following aspects: Text Localization, Speech Localization and Musical Audio.
*The base was AI-generated, but the transformative creation built upon it stands as an original work. (Text was controlled by a human, the voice and musical audio were edited and reworked by a human)
As a small independent development team with limited resources, we used AI-based tools to assist with certain aspects of content creation, including textures, audio, and in-game video elements (such as VHS-style footage). All final content was carefully reviewed, refined, and manually reworked by the development team including additional re-texturing to ensure it reflects our creative vision.
