Public Steam disclosure research 25,394 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Created game icons using AI.
Character voices are synthesized with the Voice Synthesizer VOICEVOX, and the Japanese translation is provided by the machine translator DeepL. Neither of these uses generate content in real-time. No sprites, code, ideas, music, or any other elements not mentioned were made with AI.
The background music in this game was created using AI.
Some graphical content in the game was generated using AI tools. Additionally, some translations were created with the help of AI. We will provide tools for players to suggest improvements, ensuring the best possible experience for everyone.
Some of the art assets in this game are AI-generated.
Most of 2D assets in MONSTER WAR has been generated by using AI solutions. But music, code and anything else made by humans.
This game uses AI-generated content created with ChatGPT and Bing Image Creator. AI was used to help write store page text, promotional material, and generate some illustrative images. No AI is used in the game's real-time execution or gameplay code.
In game skill icons. Steam capsules background base images.
Perk images and Marshal portraits are generated using generative AI and edited manually for artistic coherency.
The promotional video in the game uses MIDJOURNEY to generate keyframe images and AI video generation software to synthesize animated videos of "past events" in the game. In the inspiration for building some game models, AI concept image production experiments were used
This game was made by a solo developer aka human being. Some visual and audio assets were built with AI support, then refined, edited and animated by hand. Also, code analysis and debugging (no pun intended) was done with the support of AI.
All in-game content is developed in-house by the developer. For certain in-game content, when newly acquiring retro game cartridges, installation videos generated by AI and post-processed are played.
Portions of this game’s source code, specifically involving complex algorithms and calculation logic, were developed with the assistance of AI-powered tools to enhance development efficiency and ensure greater system stability. Additionally, a limited selection of music assets was created and refined using AI-assisted composition technologies. All visual and graphical assets, including character designs, user interfaces, background art, and promotional materials, were entirely created by artists in our development team. No AI-generated visual content was used in any part of the game.
Since we don't have graphics designers, we used some AI-generated images for the store page and marketing materials.
The game is created by myself. Hand made logic, scripting, scenario, animation and music. As a solo developer, AI was carefully used to help me creating only 3D models and some illustrations.
This store page includes promotional assets that were partially created or enhanced using AI-based tools.
The AI disclosure is checked per Steam policy due to placeholder images used on the store page during early development. All placeholders within the game, as well as the original store page screenshots, have since been removed and replaced with final, hand-crafted images authored by the developer.
The game background music is generated by AI: https://www.tianpuyue.cn
AI tools were used to create some videos, paint characters, scenarios and weapons, as well as to correct texts and help identify difficult bugs. All AI-generated material was manually reviewed to ensure quality and consistency with the project.
Currently in our Menu Screens we are using AI Background Images as place holders for Real Images that we will create. The placeholders serve well for now and we will eventually end the use of AI for anything.
Some billboards in the game with ai images
The speech of the NPCs is pre-rendered using AI. No in-game AI usage.
Breathtaking AI generated graphics
Artificial Intelligence was used in the loading screen visuals and logo design.
I use generative AI tools to assist with creating some pre-rendered assets for our Steam store materials and certain in-game UI graphics. All AI-assisted outputs are reviewed and edited before use. No AI-generated content is created live at runtime.
AI tools were used to assist in the creation of the store capsule artwork and language localizations for the game's interface and subtitles.
The character illustrations and avatars in the game, as well as some item icons, are AI-generated.
Generative AI was used to create the images for the store.
Please note that AI was partially used in the creation of images for this game.
I'm a solo developer. I spent four months collaborating with an artist, but when they left the project I had to start over, completing the art and community assets with AI tools. I know AI art is a controversial topic, but I hope you can still feel all the hard work I've put into this game
Some of the game's visual assets, including concept art and the cover image, were generated with the help of AI tools and then manually edited to fit the game's style.
Code: Generate basic functionality code, less than 1% of the total lines of code. Images: Generate images for reference or initial drafts, less than 5% of the total image assets. Text: Generate text for reference, initial drafts, or polishing, less than 5% of the total text volume.
AI-generated art object
This game uses AI to help create some pre-rendered visuals, 3D assets, and images, while all gameplay content is tested by hand for a unique player experience.
AI artwork.
We have incorporated AI modeling and AI original UI design into our workflow.
Title text in the store capsule images is made with AI
I used AI to assist with multilingual translation of the game's text. I used AI to help create some promotional materials for the game store. I utilized AI to help translate the Steam store page into multiple languages.
Store page uses images that are AI generated, which have been modified.
AI is planned to be used in some sound effects.
As an indie project developed purely out of passion and without any funding, we have used artificial intelligence to generate some of the game's images and voice lines, as we currently lack a team of professional artists or voice actors. However, if the game gains traction and development continues, these assets may be replaced with the work of real artists and industry professionals.
I use AI to assist in generating pre-rendered game assets, store page copy, and some marketing and community materials to improve production efficiency and quality. However, all AI-generated content is carefully reviewed and edited by humans to ensure it aligns with the game's style and brand identity.
This game uses AI-generated voiceovers for some characters.
Marketing materials
The following is generated using AI: The main interface of the game includes four worm cards, six panda cards, one molten rock puppet card, three Spider Egg cards, two human cards, and two blacksmith cards
I'm a one-person developer. That means I do everything; and some of it I'm just bad at. I use AI as a tool to cover the gaps: the tasks I hate, the stuff I'd waste hours on just to replace later. The tools don't make the art. Every idea and decision, everything that made it into this game came from me.
Contain some Ai voice over
Some parts of art resources are rendered with AI.
Game and trailer use AI-generated placeholder music.
We utilize generative AI technologies in select aspects of our development process. This includes the creation of user portraits, promotional materials (such as images, videos, and written copy), in-game iconography, and certain text-based content. These AI-generated elements support and enhance our creative workflow, but they represent a small portion of the overall production effort, with the majority of work being crafted by our development team.
