Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
All images within the game were generated using a neural network.
Artwork was created by human artists. AI was used for color adjustments and final rendering only. Character animations were assisted by AI.
Some marketing and promotional materials for this game were created or assisted using generative AI tools. These materials are used solely for marketing purposes and do not affect gameplay or in-game content.
AI coding assistants were used during development. Shipped art and UI sound effects are licensed catalog assets (Game-Icons.net, Lucide, Kenney), not generative image or audio output. All assistant-produced code was reviewed and edited by the developer.
Some assets in this game were created with the assistance of AI-generated tools, including in-game building artwork, resource icons, and promotional video materials. All AI-generated content was reviewed, curated, and edited by the developer to fit the game's visual style.
The game uses some AI-generated images.
Generative AI tools are used in a limited capacity during development for coding assistance and early prototyping. AI may occasionally be used to help generate placeholder assets during experimentation and iteration. Any such placeholder content is intended to be replaced with original, hand-crafted assets before release. No generative AI content is intended to appear in the final shipped game.
AI was used to generate some assets, code and music
Throughout the development of my game, I have (ironically) leveraged AI-based tools to assist myself with the code and made visual placeholders. The game was translated by AI. Many parts of the code were written by an AI and some problems were debugged with it's help. Thank You for your understanding :D
AI is used to assist in scripts, 3D models and 2d textures.
We use AI to power dynamic conversations with hand-crafted NPCs. Each character has a unique personality, backstory, and knowledge base. Their dialogue is generated in real-time based on your questions, creating authentic interview experiences that feel natural and unpredictable. The AI runs completely offline on your machine. No internet connection required, and your conversations remain private.
AI generated logos.
AI-assisted tools were used for one in-game hand sprite; the rest of the in-game art is hand-drawn. AI-assisted tools were also used for some store/promotional artwork, some music and sound effects, localization assistance, and coding assistance. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, and integrated manually by the developer.
Since our team is very small, due to a lack of certain skills and time, for now we had to use AI to create some of the icons and music in our game, as placeholders that will be replaced by handcrafted art in the future. All other visual content was created by real people.
Generative AI tools were used exclusively in the creation of certain store page visual assets (such as promotional images and graphical materials). All gameplay elements, in-game content, mechanics, design, and implementation were created and finalized by the developer. No generative AI was used in the development of the game itself. Generative AI was used solely as a visual asset creation tool for marketing materials displayed on the store page.
Currently, AI was used to localize the store page and in-game text from English into other languages. We plan to verify and refine these translations with human speakers soon to ensure the highest quality possible.
Some of the code is made by AI. Everything else in the game and this store page is made by people.
The visual assets were manually composited and detailed using Photoshop. Algorithmic tools were utilized only to generate initial base textures and references, which were then significantly transformed and overpainted to match the game's specific style.
This game uses generative AI tools during development: as a coding assistant to optimize workflow, for some visual assets, for writing and editing in-game text, and for localization. I know AI-assisted development isn't for everyone, and that's fair.
This game uses generative AI tools during development to create certain pre-rendered visual assets. These include some in-game visual elements such as icons, UI-related graphics, and visual assets, as well as store page and promotional materials. No generative AI is used during gameplay. The game does not generate content, visuals, text, audio, or code in real time using AI. All gameplay logic, behavior, and systems are fully authored and deterministic.
Generative AI tools were utilized during the development of The Bliss to assist with initial script brainstorming, technical troubleshooting, and the creation of minor 2D artwork elements. All AI-assisted content was heavily modified, edited, and curated by the development team to align with the game's strict artistic vision. (Note: Any 3D AI-generated assets were used strictly as temporary placeholders during prototyping and have been completely replaced by human-crafted models in the final release).
AI is used for translation, 3D assets, music, movie, and part of the UI.
Most of the images and translations are created using generative AI.
Parts of the background image of characters are generated by AI. All the Localizations are generated by AI. Others assets like character image/UI/voice are hand-made.
Generative AI has been used to create marketing content (game poster, capsule image) for this game.
This game is created by a solo developer with a limited budget and some AI-assisted tools were used during production. – All robot voices are based on AI-generated voice lines that were then hand-edited, processed and mixed. – Some background images and visual effects were created or enhanced using AI-assisted art tools. – All game design, code, gameplay systems and written story/content were created by hand by the developer.
Some of the sound effects in the game were created by artificial intelligence.
All images and BGM in the game were generated using AI technology. This includes character designs, backgrounds, and various visual elements throughout the game. By leveraging AI, our goal was to create unique and visually appealing graphics that enhance the overall gaming experience. Additionally, the music was also generated by AI, contributing to the immersive and original atmosphere of the game.
AI tools were used only for translation purposes, helping create localized text in multiple languages, and for coding assistance during development
Generative AI was used during the development process to assist in creating 2D UI assets (icons) and drafting text for the store page and item descriptions. All AI-generated content was reviewed, edited, and finalized by the developer to ensure it fits the game's aesthetic and does not contain infringing material. The game does not generate any content live via AI during gameplay.
Throughout the game, there are displayed lines of code written out that serve as flavor text and effects for many elements of the game's UI & visuals. This huge amount of text was generated by ChatGPT with the express instruction that none of it is really functional, but visually plausible C# code.
This game uses AI for animation rigging and some image assets
Artificial intelligence has been used to generate pre-created content for the store page, marketing materials, and community assets.
Some textures are AI generated.
AI is used for store photos in this game.
AI is used in some audio and visual components.
AI-assisted tools were used for some illustrations, music composition, text translation, and limited debugging support.
AI technology is used in in some promotional materials.
Generation of images and video animations made using artificial intelligence
Some visual and audio assets in Somnolence were created or enhanced using AI-assisted tools during development, such as generative image and voice synthesis software. All content has been manually reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer to fit the game’s narrative and aesthetic design. The game itself does not generate or modify content in real time.
noise texture, some of icons of units
All characters and key artwork in this work were created entirely by hand by human artists. AI tools were used solely as an auxiliary tool during the coloring of backgrounds and user interface elements, with only public-domain images used as references. All content was completed through lawful production processes and does not infringe any third party’s copyright or related rights.
This game contains AI-generated music and voice acting.
Super Real AI reverses the traditional use of artificial intelligence. Instead of AI serving humans, humans now serve AI. A local LLM powers simulated users who constantly send unpredictable queries—while real players, acting as AI workers, must respond, classify, and adapt. It’s not a game using AI; it’s a game about using AI.
Some placeholder voice lines were generated using AI.
Much of the enemy graphics were made with the help of generative AI. However, none of them are simply used "as is." Getting the artwork to match Hong Kong 97's SNES graphics requires downscaling resolution and adjusting contrast, saturation etc.
AI tools were used during production for certain assets. We review, modify, and polish everything to match the game’s style and quality.
ARIA‑404: Labyrinth Protocol uses generative AI to create all pre-rendered content, including visuals, voice acting, music, world design, dialogue, & narrative. No AI is used during gameplay. Every element is crafted using a curated blend of AI tools by a solo developer to push the boundaries of interactive storytelling. This approach allows for a mythic, multimedia game experience that will evolve over time with community input.
This game uses AI to generate some in-game images during the development phase.
