Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI tools were used during development to assist with writing and improving the game’s C# code. All AI-assisted code was reviewed, manually adjusted, and fully tested by the developer. No AI is used during gameplay, and no AI-generated assets (such as images or sounds) are included in the final game
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with early concept art, visual ideation, logos, and certain promotional materials. All final in-game content and gameplay implementation were curated, edited, and integrated by the developers.
Some textures and mesh concepts were initially generated using AI-assisted tools. All assets have been significantly modified, refined, and integrated manually using 3d software. The developer is working to rid the game of AI generated content come launch.
I use AI to summarize documentation, criticize my code, and help me make sense of error messages.
Sometimes I feel discouraged and I ask AI to write stuff for me. Seeing the garbage it produces makes me feel better, and encourages me to try again :)
FOAMGRAVE includes some AI-assisted content, including certain visual assets (such as menu/loading screen artwork) and music/audio created using generative AI tools. All gameplay systems, programming, world design, and final integration were created and implemented by the developer.
Regarding the AI disclosure, we would like to clarify the specific scope of AI usage in our game:
1. Asset Generation (Pre-generated AI Content):
We have utilized generative AI tools exclusively for creating static assets. Specifically, AI was used to generate in-game icons, background images, and the store page assets (capsule images/banners). No real-time AI generation occurs during gameplay.
2. In-Game CPU Behavior (Non-AI):
The NPC/CPU behavior and logic within the game are strictly controlled by standard programming using conditional statements (if-then statements) and random number generation (RNG). No AI or machine learning models are used for the gameplay mechanics or enemy logic.
We are very sorry. We have used AI assistance in the development of our code and some art assets. If any of our players feel uncomfortable with this, we fully understand.
Some background images were expanded to fit higher resolutions with the assistance of generative AI tools.
All core content and gameplay experiences were designed and created by the developer.
Realm of Balls was developed with the help of generative AI tools during production, but the game does not include live AI-generated content for players.
Some visual assets used in Runemoria – Blades of Memory were created with the assistance of generative AI tools and have been modified, curated, and integrated as part of the game’s development process. AI-generated content is limited to pre-rendered visual assets and does not generate gameplay content during play.
AI-assisted tools were used as reference material during early character design iteration. The final in-game assets were significantly modified and finalized manually by the developer. No live-generated AI content is present during gameplay.
Generative AI was used in a limited, assistive role during development. All final content has been curated, refined, and approved by the developer to meet the game’s creative direction and quality expectations.
This game uses AI tools during development to assist with the creation of certain 3D models and prototyping. All gameplay design, final programming, balancing, creative direction, and system integration were carried out by the developer.
AI tools were used during the localization process and then manually reviewed by a human.
All in-game and promotional art was authored by a person and not made with generative AI.
Currently, this game uses placeholder generative AI images for character portraits and voiceovers for the announcer. Hopefully these assets will be replaced by talented artists overtime.
Some UI icons, character and creature sprites, and other in-game graphics in Submission Saga were created with the assistance of generative AI image tools (including Pixellab.ai), and portions of the store page text were drafted with AI writing assistance. Portions of the game's source code were also written with the assistance of an AI coding assistant. All AI-generated content was reviewed, edited, and curated by the developer before inclusion. No AI is used to generate content live during gameplay.
We use AI to code faster and generate placeholder art assets. All the AI-generated art assets (and most of the stock assets) will be replaced before the game is launched. The game design, art direction, and overall vision is all from our (human!) team.
Both manual coding and coding using generative AI is included in this game. Some UI images were developed using generative AI as well as some in level images in the final level. Store presence images were developed using generative AI.
Some visual assets, promotional images, and text elements were created with the assistance of generative AI tools. The gameplay itself does not use live AI-generated content.
Generative AI tools were used to create images, audio, and text materials used in the game and on the store page.
Generated materials are reviewed, selected, edited, and adjusted by the developer before use.
The game does not include any feature that live-generates AI content during gameplay.
AI-assisted tools were used during development to support some early exploration and temporary development content. Any AI-assisted assets were either replaced or refined by humans in order to maintain the creative and artistic vision of the development team.
TRANSLATIONS in store page and in-game have been generated with artificial intelligence. These translations are FULLY OPTIONAL to use and you can experience the full game without any artificial intelligence by playing in the English language. I wanted to give people the possibility to experience the game in their native language, which is why this decision was made.
AI tools were used during development for assistance with English localization, parts of programming, and the creation of certain icons and visual assets. All generated content was reviewed and edited by the developer before being included in the final game.
We use generative AI in a limited capacity for certain visual and written content.
Generative AI may be used for:
- Marketing materials, including promotional artwork, trailer graphics, and store page content.
- Loading screen images and decorative in-game poster artwork.
- Assistance with some written text, such as tutorials and informational content.
Generative AI is not used for:
- Live content generation during gameplay.
- Gameplay screenshots shown on the Steam store page.
- Maps, level geometry, character models, weapons, gameplay assets, game mechanics, or networking systems.
- Player-generated content.
