Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI may be used in marketing
During Early Access Launch we are using AI generated Voice as a placeholder, to be replaced with real voice acting during early access.
The DreamForge allows players to generate their own 3D models in-game using a text prompt. This tool is a simple way for players to create their own 3D models, but we’re still making DreamWorld’s 3D models using a traditional art pipeline. As of now, non-English language support has been generated through usage of AI models, but has been reviewed by our team thoroughly.
AI was used to create the MainMenu Banner.
Some menu, audio and UI elements contain AI generated content.
Generative AI was used to supplement the creation of pre-rendered visual artwork. Some artwork was hand drawn by Jesse Petrone, and other artwork was generated by Google Gemini.
AI was used to generate the game logo, trailer intro scene art, trailer music, trailer voice acting, in-game character voice lines, game music, and weapon sound effects. The character model "Soldier Female" is generated by AI. The character models "Lunar Federation Soldier," "Planetary Union Soldier," and "Federation Gas Soldier" are also generated by AI. The "K-67" pistol texture is generated by AI. The character model "Galactic Explorer" is generated with AI. All AI models were generated using Meshy.ai.
Menu elements such as backgrounds contain art generated with tools using Artificial Intelligence.
Used for creating the game banner
Only the player characters portraits and spell/ability icons were created with generative AI.
The only use of AI for this game was for the Steam Store page capsules/art and the art on the main menu.
The game's BGM and art were created using generative AI as a creative tool, and refined according to the team's direction to achieve the final atmosphere and tone.
I just used some AI for marketing material only like the background image
We use AI to generate icons for props, but we perform secondary processing such as cutout, color grading, and adding shadows. This is just a small part of the content in the game.
Only some 2D design
We use AI to create store page and some in-game render assets
AI was used to assist in programming tasks during development of the game. AI was used for prototyping 2D game art.
Some illustrations were created using AI
Some store assets were generated using Artificial Intelligence.
AI was used to write some lines of code, and improve functionality in some code.
This game contains AI voice acting for immersive gameplay purposes.
Generative AI was used to create some artwork. All assets were modified to be used with the game's ray traced rendering and shading.
Character voiceover and some sound effects are supported by AI
AI was used to make some UI elements.
I have used AI for generating some of the UI elements such as Buttons, Icons and Shapes in the Game. In addition, I have used AI for generating some of the visuals (Like Capsule Image, etc...) of Store Page.
Generated achievement icons. After generation, they were modified to suit the needs of the achievement while also removing excess clutter.
Hand tweaked and adjusted Midjourney AI renders have been used for generating certain in game background graphics, marketing materials and cover. Deepvoice has been used for multiple ingame announcers(ie commercials, news etc)
Our game does not use AI in gameplay, character behavior, or system design. A small portion of the game's artwork was created using AI-assisted tools during the development process. All other assets and content were manually created by our team.
AI was used in creating the stage backgrounds. They were generated using DALLE-3 and then manually edited.
AI has been used in the product development as a production assistant. All the material has ultimately been worked on and developed by a human.
Only the character art in the logo was generated by AI. Even the logo title text, I created myself in Photoshop. I created all the characters in Aseprite, without AI. I scripted the game, designed, and built it myself, and leveraged asset packs.
AI Suno was used to generate music and AI Ideogram was used to generate images
We used AI to generate images when designing the page in steam and some backgrounds
The only use of AI gen tools were for the backgrounds on the Store page images. Nowhere else is AI used. Certainly not anywhere in the actual Game itself. Any and all Images in the game itself have been rendered directly out of the game project without any sort of AI gen tools in the process whatsoever.
In this game, AI was used to facilitate the creation of character avatars and illustrations, as well as AI localizations and dialogues and steam page localization.
We used AI as a tool during development to help generate some parts of the code and certain visual assets. However, there is no active or functional AI system used within the game itself. AI was only used in the production process, not as part of the gameplay or game mechanics.
Some of the item icons in the game used AI generation. For example, gem icon.
Use images created in some areas of the image used on the store page
Generative AI used to assist in the creation of some marketing materials, in-game textures and user interface elements.
There is a radio station that put on air AI generated songs, random generated NPCs have access database of pre-generated topics of discussions, there are collectable lost media VHS featuring short experimental films made with AI generated and real footage
Generative AI was used to create some art.
Some images was generated by AI.
I use AI to edit some images. It is less than 1% of the content.
We use additional AI for the game only to enhance the players' experiences. We applied them in: 1. Image rendering DAL-E using chatGPT 4.0 for some UI and Background Images (40%) 2. SFX for the game using AI generative around 30% of the game sound
Most of the game's images are generated by AI, including player images, enemy images, and scene images. However, the UI part of the game is not generated by AI.
Some images seen in the game have been generated/edited with use of an AI.
We did not use AI to generate any content at runtime, we only used AI to generate some promotional images
Dall-E 3 was used to help generate the textures and pixel art, no artist prompts were used, just generic terms. Suno was used for the music.
During the development process, we might utilize procedural and AI-driven tools to assist with content creation. However, the final product always showcases the creativity and expression of our development team.
