Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
World maps in National Transit are created with procedural (algorithmic) generation — not AI. Terrain, rivers, coastlines, and city placement are generated algorithmically at the start of each playthrough.
Generative AI is used in the following place(s):
• Some of the in-game icons/2D art — a portion are AI-generated; the rest are hand-drawn.
In-game text is written by hand; localisation into other languages was produced with the help of machine/AI translation.
Localization was assisted by AI for multilingual support.
A small number of UI icons (approx. 10) were created using AI tools and manually refined by the developer.
To streamline our development and bring the game to market faster, we utilize generative AI for core visualization. Our team then uses these outputs as a foundation to refine, improve, and create the final iterations you see in the game.
This game uses generative AI during development for some images, music drafts, and programming assistance. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, and curated by the developer before release.
I am a single Dev - with 5 dependents ( 3 have special needs and demand time) and a ZERO budget. I am unemployed trying to have a go.
I wanted to make this game and it would of NEVER happened with out AI generated art.
Generative AI was used during development to assist in creating certain visual assets (pixel art characters, scene tiles, etc.). All AI-generated content was reviewed, curated, and modified by hand. Game code, design, and narrative were created by human developers and assisted with Generative AI.
All art and music in the game other than icons and sound effects were generated with AI. While I would prefer to ship the game with human artistry, I do not have the means at this time.
I use AI agents to aid in development of Visseron Idle as well. I am the brains, it is my hands when I need it.
Generative AI tools were used as part of a human-led design workflow for a limited portion of the game’s pre-generated artwork and promotional materials, including Steam store assets. Professional graphic designers directed, edited, and finalized all visual assets, which were reviewed before inclusion. No content is generated using AI while the game is running.
During development, generative AI was used as a supporting tool to accelerate coding workflows and assist in creating pixel art assets. All game design, mechanics, and creative direction are human-driven.
This game uses AI for Image capsules and Image logo for store page. All other screenshots and in game screenshots which are purely created by me and does not have AI in it.
The game's visuals heavily utilize generative artificial intelligence, and we promise to replace the AI-generated art assets for every 10,000 copies sold. After reaching 100,000 copies sold, all in-game art assets will be hand-drawn.
For the development of Silver Snake, generative AI was used to create static visual assets and the game's musical soundtrack.
Please note that all in-game sound effects and animal behaviors are procedurally generated through custom code and do not involve generative AI tools.
Developer’s Note:
Due to the challenges of solo game development and being a newcomer to the industry, I utilized AI tools to assist in certain areas of production. This includes specific textures, minor 3D models, and parts of the programming logic. However, all voice acting and musical scores are original works, created as a gesture of support by my close friends.
I used AI generation tools to assist in creating the 2D visual assets for the game, including UI elements, enemy shapes, background textures, and the promotional store capsules. All generated images were manually reviewed, edited, and integrated into the game to fit the minimalist neon aesthetic, ensuring no copyright infringement or illegal content is present.
The code, mechanics, and gameplay of 'Sabor de España' do not use generative Artificial Intelligence. However, some promotional graphic elements displayed exclusively on the Steam store page (such as store headers, promotional banners, and base logo designs) have been created or refined with the assistance of AI image generation tools.
This is a solo-developed project created with limited time and resources. Some assets (such as visuals or audio) were partially generated or assisted using AI tools to make development feasible.
All such content has been manually reviewed and adjusted to fit the game's atmosphere and design.
AI tools were used only to assist in the creation of certain marketing artwork for the Steam store page.
All in-game content, screenshots, and trailer were created without the use of generative AI.
Some shipped artwork and written content were created or assisted with generative AI tools during development. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay and does not connect to external AI services while you play.
Generative AI was used during development to assist with some in-game visual art (e.g. building and enemy concept iteration, color palette suggestions), code, and Steam marketing materials (store capsules, achievement icons). Final assets were reviewed and integrated by the developer. All music, sound design, and game design are hand-authored.
As a blind developer, I use AI-assisted generative tools to bridge the gap in creatingvisual marketing assets and to ensure presentation meets modern store standards
As an indie non-english speaker, AI was used for polishing game store page and texts inside game. Images in game and gameplay in game are not affected by AI.
The developer uses AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Cursor) to assist with writing code, drafting in-game text like card effect descriptions, and brainstorming narrative elements. Additionally, AI is utilized to provide draft localizations for various languages.
However, all graphical assets (including character illustrations and monster designs) and audio are entirely human-made. No AI-generated images, pre-rendered graphics, or sound files are used in this game.
"We utilize AI to assist in various design processes, including stylistic conceptualization, environment concept art, character definition, and color scheme planning."
Pre-Generated Content (AI-assisted art):
Some promotional and marketing artwork & game arts of the tiles & the facilities was created with the assistance of AI image generation tools used as a starting point, subsequently edited and modified by the developer. All in-game characters & effects are hand-crafted by the developer.
Generative AI was used as an assistive tool during development for parts of some 3D models, sound assets, and portions of the code. All such content was reviewed, modified where needed, and curated by the developer before release.
In this game, the developer uses AI tools in the creation of the following pre-generated content that players see:
1. Artwork: Image assets used on the store page and in the Steam library (capsule images, header images, etc.) and promotional materials.
2. Text: In-game text, store page descriptions, and their multilingual translations.
Defense of Kyrath uses AI-assisted tools in parts of its art and audio pipeline. Some character sprites, character voice lines, select background imagery, and background music are AI-generated, and refined or curated by the developer. All AI-generated content is pre-generated at authoring time. Terrain, environment art, and level layouts come from TiGen - a custom procedural generation pipeline that is purely algorithmic, not AI. All game design, writing, and gameplay systems are human-crafted.
No real-time generative AI in the client. Static in-game and store art/audio may include material initially produced with generative AI, revised and approved by the developer before release.
