Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Art assets (card, mode and boss illustrations, backgrounds and store art) were created with generative AI tools and edited by the developer. No AI-generated content is created live during play.
Hey everyone! I used AI for three things that ship in this game: - The game logo, which also appears on the store capsules - A couple of real photos converted into an anime style photo, used as wall art in some of the environments. - The achievement icons are ai generated. That's everything. No other AI-generated art, no AI voices/music, and nothing generative running while you play.
Parts of the game's code and the store page text were written with the help of an AI assistant. All art, 3D models, sounds and music are not AI-generated: 3D models come from Kenney asset packs (CC0) or are built procedurally in code, visuals and marketing images are rendered in-engine, and sounds and music come from CC0 libraries.
We use AI to help with community, bug fixes, and general content that will be replaced over time as we continue to develop.
Generative AI was used during development to create images and music, and to assist with programming, in-game text and skill descriptions, translations, and store page descriptions. The game does not use generative AI to generate content during gameplay.
I used the help of AI to supplement me in areas, where my talent lacks to bring my ideas to live. I am no great musician, I am no graphics designer and partly colorblind. I used these modern tools to create what I've dreamt of.
AI was used for initial art and audio. Every visual asset was redrawn by hand.
Puzzle Peace uses generative AI to help create puzzle artwork, music, and sound effects. As the developer, I direct the creative process, refine the generated material, and personally review and select the final assets to fit the game’s cozy style and atmosphere. All content is prepared before release; nothing is generated by AI during gameplay.
AI tools were used to help translate the game, locate and fix bugs.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with localization and the creation of some game assets. Generative AI is not used to generate content during gameplay, and the game does not connect to external AI services during execution.

During the development of our game, generative AI tools were used to assist in creating certain 2D underwater background visuals, store page graphics. Additionally, AI-based language models were utilized for writing the store page descriptions and localizing the game into various languages. All AI-generated content was manually reviewed and edited before being implemented into the game or the store page.
Part of the game's code was generated and optimized with the assistance of AI development tools during the development process. Some store presentation materials (including the game logo, icon, and background images) were also created with the assistance of AI tools and have been manually reviewed to ensure they do not contain infringing content. All in-game art assets are legally purchased from third-party asset stores or obtained from open-source resources, and are used in accordance with the licenses provided by the respective authors.
Generative AI tools were used in a supporting role for parts of our art, sound, and translation work. For art assets in particular, we avoid using AI-generated output as-is; AI serves mainly as a starting point and reference, and much of the final artwork is reworked and finalized by our team.

Localization and some (not all) of the fake company logos. Most of the stuff was either created by me directly or through paid assets and services.
Glyphy's achievement guides are written with AI assistance and checked before release. Each one starts from Steam's own achievement list, so nothing is added or missed. The steps are written from scratch and must pass automated checks for accuracy, clarity and originality. Anything that can't be confirmed is marked "unverified" instead of guessed. The app itself has no AI features, and nothing is generated while you use it.

AI coding assistants also contributed to production code, QA tooling, documentation, player-facing copy, and localization drafts. The developer selected, edited, cleaned, composited, animated, integrated, and QA-reviewed the resulting material. All player-visible content is fixed in the shipped build: no prompt, generative model, or external generation service runs at runtime, and the game has no live-generated AI feature.
