Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI-assisted art tooling used for promotional graphics only.
Gameplay, visuals, and code were built by hand. Only the bundled soundtrack used AI-assisted music tools, all of which I reviewed. Soundway is made for your own music — the built-in tracks just get you started.
This game uses generative AI as a starting point for visual art and music. We then edited many of the assets by hand.
The game's graphics and software are powered by artificial intelligence.
Localization of the textual content for non-english languages is mainly produced as translations from english using generative artificial intelligence. LLM's have been used as a help also in writing and reviewing of program code, development helper tools, infrastructure setup, security checks, test maintenance and requirements management.
I built Orbisphere as a solo developer using AI tools under human direction. The soundtrack was created with generative AI music tools, with each track directed, selected, and edited by me. In-game vector artwork was authored with AI assistance from my terrible MS Paint references and designs. All game design, writing, systems, and balance are my own work.
Some of the promotional artwork for MoonCraft was created using generative AI tools. All in‑game content, gameplay assets, code, and visuals were created manually without AI. Only the store page art uses AI; the game itself does not include AI‑generated content.
The graphics is AI generated.
Selected background elements, tilesets, and player and boss character models used AI-generated source material that was manually reworked and adapted. Translations were created and edited with AI assistance. Part of the game's logic was developed with AI assistance. All design and gameplay decisions were made by the developer.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with the creation of some 3D assets, music, and draft visual materials. Character concepts were based on human-made sketches, and AI was used only for early draft exploration; the final in-game characters were created by humans. All AI-assisted materials were reviewed, edited, and integrated into the game by the developer. AI is not used to generate content during gameplay.
During the development process, we may use AI-based tools. In all such cases, the final product reflects the creativity and expression of our own development team.
Generative AI was used to assist in the development of the game, including parts of the game engine code, internal development tools, some visual assets, and language proofreading. All AI-generated output was reviewed and supervised by a human. The game's audio was sourced from third-party providers outside the studio and, to the best of our knowledge, was not created using generative AI.

Artificial intelligence was used to generate the base concepts for the characters and planets in the game. All generated assets were then significantly edited, refined, and finalized manually to fit the game's unique art style.
AI Gen tools were used in a variety of ways for this game. Asset image concepting, narrative re-writes, 3d meshing, and marketing assets typically went through some form of a.i. modification, but then returned to a human-in-the-loop production step before game integration.
Generative AI was used during development as an assistance tool for code development, review, debugging, and refinement. Final implementation and testing were performed by the developer. The game does not use generative AI to create content at runtime. Visual assets are either original works or appropriately licensed third-party assets that were manually edited and adapted for the game.
Music and sound effects were created using Suno
Veyrasol uses generative AI tools as part of its art pipeline. Both 3D models and 2D artwork used in the game (illustrations, backgrounds, UI and unit icons), as well as store page and marketing graphics such as capsule images and banners, were created with the help of generative AI tools and then reviewed, edited and assembled by the developer. Generative AI tools were also used to help write parts of the marketing website and store page copy. The core game (engine, server logic, real-time combat, and systems) is hand-coded by the developer, and no content is generated by AI at runtime during play.
The story and game design are an original creation of the developer. AI was used as a tool to produce certain fixed visuals (store page, logo, illustrations), in order to faithfully represent the game's artistic vision. No content is AI-generated during gameplay.
Music, icons, and art assets are made using generative artificial intelligence.
We use generative AI tools to produce the music and sound effects in this game. All audio is reviewed and edited by our team before release.
During the development of this game, generative AI tools were used to assist the developer in several areas: - Music & Audio: The game's soundtrack and musical scores were entirely generated using AI audio tools. - Visual Assets: AI tools were used to assist in the texturing process for a selection of 3D models. - Localization & Text: AI assisted in the translation and localization of the game's text, as well as refining marketing materials and store descriptions. - Coding: AI coding agents were utilized to assist with programming, code optimization, and debugging. All AI-assisted assets and code have been carefully reviewed, curated, and integrated by the developer to ensure a cohesive and high-quality player experience.
Some audio assets use curated, pre-rendered sound effects generated or iterated with AI tools. FleetForge does not use live in-game generative AI.
AI was used to translate the in-game language.
Generative AI was used during development to assist with portions of the game's artwork, Steam store assets, sound effects, and voice narration. All AI-assisted content has been reviewed, edited, and/or refined by the developer. No generative AI is used during gameplay.
Some assets were created with generative AI tools and then edited.
AI was used to create the game's musical accompaniment.
All songs in **GALAXY BEAT** credited to the artist **"Nullspecter"** were created using AI. In addition, some of the album artwork and UI images included in **GALAXY BEAT** were created with the assistance of AI.
Some models and sounds were prototyped using AI tools and then finished, edited and polished by hand
Space Planet Explorer uses generative AI to create assets that ship with the game, including planet surface textures, cinematic sequences, voice narration, and music. All of this content was generated during development — no AI content is generated live during gameplay. Planet visuals are AI-generated interpretations based on real scientific data, not actual NASA photography.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with some code, visual assets, and English voice and audio content. The game's design, selection, editing, integration, balancing, testing, and final creative decisions are handled and reviewed by the developer before release.
Various usages of LLM's and Generative Ai used in development
No game assets or gameplay content were generated using AI. Localization into some supported languages was created with AI assistance and reviewed by the developers and community where possible.
This game uses generative AI to assist in creating some design concepts and visual assets. All output is reviewed and refined by the developer.
Space Delivery is a solo indie project by Christian Wolf. Generative AI was one of the tools used to make it: all character voice-over and some sound effects were generated with ElevenLabs, AI image tools were used for the game's icons and some other menu/UI artwork, and AI tools were used to translate the game and its store page from English. The trailer and promotional images were assembled using AI tools from the game's own assets. AI also assisted with coding and design during development. All game design, art direction, and final creative decisions were made by the developer.
AI Voices.
I don't know how to code, and I only speak two languages (both badly, if I'm being honest). To actually get this game running properly and make it playable, I had to use AI as a technical assistant. I wrestled with the ethics of this because I care deeply about the line between tools and art. If this game makes any money, it will go straight into hiring professional programmers, artists, and translators. Thank you.
AI has been used to adapt the cover art to Steam's specific dimensions and requirements.
AI-generated content was used for promotional/store artwork, including capsule and library images. The game build itself does not use generative AI during gameplay.
The development of this game utilizes generative artificial intelligence tools to create some pre-rendered graphic assets, visual interface elements, and sound effects that are part of the arena's atmosphere.
Galaxor uses generative AI tools to support the creation and revision of selected visual content, including icons, artwork, banners, store graphics and marketing materials. Generated content is reviewed, selected and, where necessary, manually adjusted before being used in the game or on the store page. No live-generated AI content is created during gameplay.

Several of the original tracks included with the base game were created with the help of AI tooling as was some of the initial iconography and translations.
During development, we used generative AI image tools to produce base images for some of our 2D art assets. Our artist then worked on them to create the final assets in the game and on the store page.
This game contains generative AI content. Some visual/visual arts materials were assisted by generative AI tools during development and were manually selected, edited, and reviewed by the development team before being used in the game or Steam store page. The game features optional real-time AI chat and voice interaction functions. Players can interact with in-game pets through text or voice input, and the backend AI generates text responses based on player input, current game state, and context. Some responses may be delivered via voice. We employ input filtering, output filtering, safety prompts, rate limiting, and abuse detection to minimize the generation of illegal, infringing, explicit, hateful, harassing, or otherwise inappropriate content.
In this work, much of the text is interactively generated by a language generation AI. In addition, language generation AI is used for various judgments on the text entered by players. Furthermore, all the illustrations in this work are created using image generation AI.
Generative AI assisted with: English localization (AI-translated, developer-reviewed), some store-page capsule art (generated programmatically), and store-page description text. No AI runs live/at runtime in the game. Core code, game design and original in-game sprite art were made by the developer.
