Public Steam disclosure research 25,710 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Stylizing background images based on my own images
We used IA to create some pictures and 2 videos in the game.
1. Parts of the game logo were generated by ChatGPT during brainstorming sessions, then vectorized and refined using vector editing software. 2. The narrator's voice in the game trailer was generated using ElevenLabs' "John Doe Gentle" voice.
Some store visuals were created using pre-generated AI art and then manually edited. The game itself contains no AI-generated or AI-assisted content.
Used to generate capsules for the store page.
Some pictures created by Dall-e AI.
We used AI for generating concept art, but not in realtime. We used AI for generating voice overs, but not in realtime. We used AI for language translations, but not in realtime.
Some promotional images and visual assets on the Steam store page were generated or enhanced using AI tools.

This game utilizes AI-generated assets for in-game content and store page materials.
AI assisted in the design of some game artwork
While gameplay is development, AI is used for the narrator's voice and some art content while prototyping and building.
Graphical assets were made with the help of AI, since as an indie developer I have the know-how in coding but I am missing the skill to provide effective and appealing sprite assets.
In developing “SPIDER HOTEL,” we used Adobe’s generative-AI tools, which provide commercial-use licensing, to assist in creating the following static asset: • background textures for player nameplates After generation, all assets were reviewed and further edited by the development team to ensure originality and compliance with Valve guidelines and Adobe’s licensing terms. No generative AI runs while the game is being played, and no player data is ever sent to external AI services.
I use commercially licensed AI generated graphics assets as temporary placeholders for some card images and icons because of the frequent card design changes. They will be replaced by manual art after the card designs are finalized in the released game.
AI helped creating concept arts and marketing materials..
Some audio and visual assets were created using generative AI, including voice recordings, end credits music, and certain character images and achievement icons. Gameplay systems and mechanics do not rely on AI-generated content. All generated assets are owned and licensed by us.

All illustrations and visual assets in this game were created using AI-based tools, followed by manual retouching and quality refinement. Our goal was to craft a unique and immersive world by combining the creative potential of AI with careful artistic direction. All AI tools were used legally, and the resulting content was thoroughly reviewed to avoid any ethical or copyright concerns.
The game's introductory images were created using AI-generated content. The capsule images were also partially generated using AI tools.
Part of the graphic assets are generated by AI and hand-edited for animation, scrolling, improved visibility, improved looks.
Our game was crafted by a small team of 2 passionate creators, and like many modern developers, we used AI tools to support (not replace) our creative process. Think of it like using Photoshop or a 3D engine: AI helped us brainstorm and experiment faster, but every asset in the game has been carefully edited, polished, and finalized by human hands. We believe in originality, quality, and creativity — and we’ve made sure everything in the game reflects that.
DBF2 contains 2D posters generated using Mid Journey Mostly at the level that was made first (Irish Pub) Will be consistently replaced by 2D arts made by artists during the early acces stage
Some Lua scripts and English translations in the game were initially drafted using AI(ChatGPT, Gemini) and then manually revised by the developer.
