Public Steam disclosure research25,516 disclosures tracked
Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
A minimal amount of non-essential content (such as minor textures and some translations) was created with limited AI assistance. No core gameplay, narrative, or artistic content was generated using AI.
In New World Order - Anarchy Collapsed, AI is used to generate pre-rendered design assets that include country images, building designs, army units, and other visual elements crucial to creating a rich and diverse game world. These AI-generated assets help add variety to the visuals, ensuring each faction and territory feels unique within the game's post-apocalyptic setting.
All AI-generated content is produced during development and reviewed to fit the game’s artistic style and strategic gameplay. AI is not used to generate content or code dynamically during gameplay. Instead, the pre-rendered assets contribute to the overall experience by enhancing the diversity and depth of the game’s world without real-time AI intervention.
HUMAN FREELANCE ARTISTS designed the locations and the characters' original looks.

However, I enriched some artwork using AI to make the game look more diverse.
Voice acting was done entirely by AI.
I will replace everything made by AI as soon as I have a bit of money. If this doesn't work for you, please don't buy the game.

Only some character voices, radio tracks, and billboard advertisement textures were created using AI tools.
The rest of the game's assets and models are sourced from artists and designers.
AI-generated artwork was used during early development, primarily as temporary material while testing and building the game.
Much of this artwork has already been replaced, both in the game and on the Steam page, with original work created by commissioned artists and by me. I will continue replacing remaining assets where bespoke artwork meaningfully improves the game, with a strong focus on ensuring that its characters, environments, key visuals, and overall artistic identity are shaped by original artist-created work.
As a Solo Developer, AI was used mostly for things that would otherwise take too much time or finance, such as: Voice Lines, SFX, and custom Images.
AI type used: Voice Changers, Image Generators, and Audio Generators.
Our team utilizes various AI tools and techniques in our development pipeline to create minor 2D visual elements and some event-based cinematic content. These methods help us prototype certain non-core assets during our creative process.
While no image used in the game is only made from AI, many are AI assisted. I made as much as my limited art skill were able to make for the game, AI did help me finish some of the art.
Some use of AI to generate background music, text or other artwork that is then heavily edited and vetted and appears in the game seamlessly with the large amount of hand-made artwork, to help fill gaps in a small low-budget production and enhance the overall experience.
As a two man bootstrapped indie team, achieving our game's vision without AI would have been literally impossible. We have used AI tools such as Midjourney for item icons, some materials in game, & parts of our trailers. We also used AI such as Soundraw.io for our soundtrack in-game, Suno for trailer music, Elevenlabs for voice acting, and a few other AI tools for technical areas of the game.
Upscaling was done in a mixed process of AI upscaling with Upscayl and manual work with Affinity Designer/Photo, GIMP and Aseprite.
Some backgrounds were extended on the sides for widescreen using AI tools like krea.ai, and then manually reworked with Affinity Designer/Photo, GIMP and Aseprite.
ChessFinity uses AI-generated content minimally, primarily for image creation and touch-ups in some of our visual assets. All AI-generated images are based on original designs and concepts created by our team. No live AI content generation or dynamic AI use occurs during gameplay
Some in-game images, illustrations, and decorative elements were created using AI-assisted image generation tools.
Additionally, select voiceovers and sound effects were generated or enhanced using AI-based audio technologies.
Our game leverages the power of AI in two key areas:
Visual Content: Some in-game graphics and visual assets were created using AI tools, enhancing the artistic quality and ensuring a unique experience for players.
Promotional Materials: The images and descriptions you see on this store page were generated with the help of AI, designed to provide clear and engaging information about the game.
This ensures a creative and dynamic approach to both the game’s design and its presentation to the community.
This game utilizes AI technology to generate some of the background and store images. These AI-generated assets were carefully selected to enhance the overall aesthetic of the game. All AI-based content was created in compliance with legal requirements to prevent copyright infringements.
Some of the images used on the store page are AI-generated.
Certain images and 3D models used in the game are AI-generated.
Some of the text has been created with the assistance of AI.
Parts of the programming have been developed with the assistance of AI.
We used AI to generate textures when painting images for the library.
The gameplay screenshots do not contain generative content.
The game itself, its code and assets do not contain generated content.
Meet Golem, your AI-trusted companion! Our Golem generates real-time coding based on your own prompts for any questions or coding challenges you encounter while exploring the world of Pastopia. The only generative assets that the Golem produces in-game are MiniScript codes that we have trained ourselves and basic 3D shapes that are based off Pastopia's own in-game assets. For example, Golem will help you create lines of code that will spawn a structure of a bridge using either cubes, spheres or prisms from the game.
In the early stage of game design, AI tools are used to generate the first draft of the picture (such as scene composition, character outline, etc.), which is only used for internal creative reference. All the pictures used in the later stage are hand-painted by professional painters. In the end, there is no visual material generated by AI in the game.
