Public Steam disclosure research 25,508 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI is planned to be used in some sound effects.
As an indie project developed purely out of passion and without any funding, we have used artificial intelligence to generate some of the game's images and voice lines, as we currently lack a team of professional artists or voice actors. However, if the game gains traction and development continues, these assets may be replaced with the work of real artists and industry professionals.
AI was used exclusively for the creation of video and music clips.
I utilize AI for texture generation, code generation, audio generation.
This game uses AI-generated voiceovers for some characters.
AI is used to generate the voice of a main character, some sounds, images and localization.
With the help of the AI chatbot, you can generate analyses and varied comments on your games and, if required, listen to them in different languages.

The game makes use of AI to enhance the player experience in the following ways: Marketing and Menu Artwork: AI was used to generate promotional assets and in-game menu art. These assets were created based on original concept briefs and refined for style consistency. Story Development: All storylines, characters, and branching decisions are original and human-written. However, AI tools were used to assist with grammar correction, spelling consistency, and stylistic polishing, ensuring a high-quality reading experience across thousands of branching narrative paths. Voice Acting: All in-game dialog audio is AI-generated using text-to-speech technology. There is no real-time AI decision-making or AI-driven gameplay logic. All player-facing content is deterministic and authored by the development team.
AI tools were used in a limited scope for generating some game assets, including 2D graphics and character voices.
Contain some Ai voice over
Game and trailer use AI-generated placeholder music.
We used AI-assisted tools during development to help generate portions of our game code, synthesize the voice of our virtual guide “MiM,” and create concept artwork and UI assets. No AI runs during gameplay—these technologies were purely production aids to streamline our workflow and enhance the game’s visuals and audio.
Since I am a solo dev, i used AI to save time and money on some minor things like sounds or icons, but also to give me different perspectives, solutions and helpful information.
Image arts and part of background music contain AI
This game uses AI to assist with the creation of certain visual and audio elements, such as icons, sound effects, and music. AI was utilized to enhance production speed and development efficiency, but it does not generate content in real time during gameplay. All AI use is limited to pre-release asset creation to improve overall quality.
AI is a tool just as any other, as a solo dev, I'm certainly going to make use of it to try to give you more of a variety of content without having to raise the price of the game due to having to hire many extra hands. Some AI generated music compositions. Some generated icons as well as some base art that is heavily modified.
A small number of sound effects were generated using AI. Please note all voice acting in the game was created and performed by human actors. AI was also used to translate the game from English to other languages.
AI is utilized in creation of some UI elements, assisting in the creation of marketing images, and for voice-overs, which pending future funding may all change.
Some sounds, texts, and images were designed using artificial intelligence.
Veil of Torment uses AI-generated voice performances for certain characters. These voices were created using licensed AI voice tools and do not replicate or impersonate real individuals. All voice content is original and was produced specifically for this project, in accordance with Steam's content policies.
Generative AI is being used for asset creation during development wherever possible (e.g. sprites, backgrounds, music) to ensure that I, as a solo developer, can keep up with the rapidly evolving nature of this project and meet both my own standards and player expectations of a polished experience.
AI was used to generate voice lines and artwork.
AI was used to create illustrated books, to increase immersion by allowing one to look close up at objects, and for the voice of the narrator.
- The developer initially generated base code using ChatGPT, through which they learned C# and Unity. This code was then manually edited and expanded by hand. - For the music, the developer received guidance from ChatGPT on composition methods, such as chord progressions, and composed the music manually. - While the developer received advice from ChatGPT on how to create pixel art, no AI was used in the actual drawing process.
AI was used for making game main theme musics
This game includes pre-generated 3D models, 2D images, music, and sound effects that were created using generative AI tools during development.
Background Music (BGM)
- Background Music - Realistic-style Image
Voice of game characters and theme song.
promo and voice
Part of the original artwork of this game was created using AI painting, and all character voices were generated by AI speech technology.
The in-game character illustrations and game music are all generated by AI.
- Since it is a one-person development game, there is a limit to producing all the directing cinemas, so we replaced the cinema with generative AI images and dialogues. - We used generative AI to create game icons. - Generative AI was used for the background music.
AI tools were used during development to support creative tasks. The game’s cover image was generated using Grok and later manually edited and masked. Voiceovers were created using ElevenLabs. ChatGPT and Grok were used to help brainstorm narrative and dialogue ideas, but all final writing and design decisions were made by the developer. No AI systems are present during gameplay, and players do not interact with or influence any generative AI. All AI-generated content was reviewed and curated before being included in the game or its marketing materials. Music and some images, especially the erotic artwork, were created using AI as a visual supplement to the game. I chosed to use AI-generated visuals as it allowed me to dedicate more time and budget to what truly matters - funny and long gameplay.
TIH uses AI models to generate voice, text, and animations based on your input, making it easy to produce live content and interact naturally.
This game uses artificial intelligence to create some images and sounds. It is also used to create unique music and songs.
The developer describes how AI-generated content is used in the game as follows - Game Title Idea - Base of Main Character Design Concepts - Background Music (BGM) - Some Sound Effects (SFX)
Image, Video & Music is generated by AI technology.
Some secondary multimedia elements were generated and/or modified through AI. All primary gameplay content was human-created.
As a small indie team, we use generative AI to boost our productivity, primarily for secondary content such as storefronts, product packaging, billboards, and other elements, along with hand-crafted artwork. Generative AI has also been used for some programming code, secondary text, certain sounds, music, and general creative support. We do not use generative AI to automate core development or large portions of the product.
NO AI was used except as outlined below. NO AI OF ANY FORM was used for story/writing, character sprites, CGs, main backgrounds, music, coding, or any other elements. We discovered a contractor used AI-assisted base line art on a limited number of secondary/non-main backgrounds. These were fully repainted and finished by a human artist. Includes speech synthesis.
This game features AI-generated voice performances and crafting item models created with the assistance of generative tools. Promotional artwork, including store page banners, was also generated using AI.
The game’s soundtrack and parts of the localization were created with the assistance of generative AI. All AI-assisted content was reviewed and integrated by the developer.
We use AI-generated background images, icons, and sounds within the game.
Background Music (BGM) Sound Effects (SE)
Cabin Curse uses generative AI tools to assist with development. Specifically, AI was used to help create early concept art, generate a few ambient music tracks, and design minor in-world details such as product labels on props (e.g., mugs, cereal boxes). No AI is used to generate content during gameplay, and all AI-generated assets were reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer.
Some sound FX, texture maps, and background characters were initially started with AI, but after that all assets were either reworked, or built entirely from scratch by a trained 3D Artist. The developer is a 3D Artist more than a programmer, and so AI was used for help when building the Blueprints in Unreal Engine.
Generative AI content was used in the following cases: - The main character of the game on the covers of the Steam page - Music in the game - Voice acting in the game - Images for splashes and backgrounds in the game
