Public Steam disclosure research 25,394 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
The in-game voice is generated using AI and is not recorded by a real person.
All visual art, gameplay assets, music and written narrative were created by humans. No AI is used to generate content during gameplay. The game uses AI-generated voice acting for cinematic and in-game character dialogue.
The game uses AI voice acting and generated images of loading screens.
Generative AI was used to assist in programming, texture creation, and background music.
AI-assisted coding tools were part of the development process. AI tools were used to assist the audio production of this game.
Optional toggleable AI-generated voiceovers for ingame characters. There are not many voice lines and they are mostly heard during cutscenes only. This is a indie no-budget production. Sorry :-'(
Cutscenes and music were designed and generated by AI tools.

The Background Scenery Images on Each Level, but not all, were generated by myself using ChatGPT DALL-E. The The Gameplay Enemy Sprites and Player are also generated by myself using ChatGPT DALL-E. Code and Particle Effects were done in Gamemaker Studio 2. Music was composed using Suno Music. No AI images, Music or code or any game elements are generated during gameplay. No copyright content used.
Narrator voice acting is done by an ai voice.
During the development of Through the Edges, generative AI tools were used to create certain graphical elements and musical compositions. However, all AI-generated content has been carefully edited, refined, and adjusted manually to match the game's artistic style and atmosphere. AI does not influence gameplay in real time and does not generate content during the playthrough. All storylines, characters, and dialogues were written manually to ensure a unique and well-crafted narrative experience.
We use AI to generate some of the textures and music for the game.
Some of the game's visual assets (such as character illustrations and icons) and parts of the music were created using generative AI tools. All AI-generated content is pre-rendered and manually reviewed, and no AI is used to generate any content or code during gameplay.
Usage of AI Generated Music, Sound Effects and Art. All Pre-Rendered / Recorded
- Translation - Character texture creation - Texture pattern generation for some models - Certain background music
Our game does not use AI to influence gameplay, player behavior, difficulty, or decision-making. The only temporary use of AI in the project is for generating placeholder narrator voice-over lines during development. All narration content is written by our team, and the AI is used solely as a text-to-speech tool for prototyping and demo purposes. These AI-generated voice-overs are planned to be fully replaced with recorded performances by a human voice actor before release. No other AI systems are used in the project.
Soundtracks and some in-game visuals have been created using artificial intelligence.
All gameplay design, level creation, and art direction are human-crafted. Select background music tracks and UI textures in the current build were created with AI assistance. Original bespoke compositions are being produced for final release.
Some pictures, some BGM, monster model, and translated texts were created by AI.
Some of the voice acting, scenes, and characters in this work were initially generated by AI and then further refined and produced by humans.
2D character art and title screen was generated and enhanced from pre-production reference sketches drawn by the developer. Some music in the game was generated utilizing Suno, and edited to fit the thematic elements of the game.
All designs are conceived and created by hand, but I also use AI tools during the pre-production phase to help develop details and after the compositing stage. The music in the game is generated by AI based on predefined parameters. The game does not use any real-time AI-generated content.
I have made the game mostly with AI. I used 3D mesh rendering websites, like Meshy for the assets. For the voice acting, I used Eleven Labs. The code I made with ChatGPT, everything is bought for and commercially licensed of course.
This single - handedly developed game features AI - generated sounds from suno.ai, which add a unique auditory experience. AI played a key role in the initial art concept phase by assisting with sketch design. I then translated these AI - inspired sketches into the final hand - drawn artworks. To provide multilingual support, AI translation technology was employed to ensure a seamless localized experience.
Soundtrack: The game's soundtrack was composed using generative AI technology to create immersive and dynamic music that enhances the player's experience. Trailer Voiceover: The voice narration featured in the official game trailer was synthesized using AI-driven voice generation. Store Assets: The logo and background imagery for the game's store assets were created using AI-assisted image generation tools. While AI has been utilized to assist in asset creation, all final creative decisions, refinements, and implementations were made by the development team to ensure quality and alignment with the game's vision.
We use generative AI for images of people, chewing sounds, sound effects, and so on.
We use AI-generated content in the following areas: Graphics Some 3D models BGM Portions of the story Parts of the program
Some logos, text, in-game translations, and character voices were created with AI assistance. All other gameplay content, including characters, animations, and code, is handcrafted.
Some visual assets were created with generative AI The Music is created with generativ AI
AI has been used to assist with minor graphical asset additions as well as voice work.
Part of the code and all the music were created using artificial intelligence.
We used AI for some of the game songs.
Some of the textures and sounds in the game are AI generated.
I use AI to generate pre-rendered art and music for the game.
We have used generative AI to create some individual assets (graphics) in eHUB cities and to support the writing of the code. The AI characters in the game are also spoken by AI voices.
Suno AI - Used for Music that is played in game Chat GPT - Used for the billboards shown in game
The game features an AI-generated audio soundtrack.
During the development process, we used procedural- and AI-based tools to assist with content creation. In all such cases, the final product reflects the creativity and expression of our own development team. Examples include voiceover audio where we utilize text-to-speech tools.
At least some of the music was created or modified with the use of AI. I experimented with some AI code generation by creating python scripts that would modify images when run. NOTE: AI did not touch the actual images, it merely codified verbal requests (such as resizing, cropping, merging) into python scripts. FWIW It was a convenient way of finding the correct PIL API to perform the desired action; however, every one of those scripts needed to be modified by-hand before use.
In this game, part of the screen content and background music use ai pre-rendering
Voice overs during game intro sequence. Some card art concepts. Some sound effects.
Several songs in the game are generated using generative AI. It is the goal to work together with artists and license also player requested music as soon as the game proves viable. AI in the form of chatbots was also used during ideation, design and programming as an auxiliary tool. NO GRAPHICAL ASSETS in the game have been AI generated!
We used AI on the store page only, namely: -AI audio overlay in the Store Page video. -Art Assets on the Store Page.
AI was used to generate voices
Some of the promotional images and capsules are made with AI Assistance. This does NOT include screenshots. All screenshots are from the game, and do NOT use AI in any capacity. In-game only a few basic UI icons, as well as some images and textures, are AI-Generated. Most Music and Songs are AI-Generated, this includes the music in the Trailer.
We are only 2 person excited to make the game we desire as soon as possible. Without AI for voice overs it becomes really hard for us to continue on our path. That is why this game utilizes AI-generated voice acting created with Replica Studios.
AI was used to assist in the creation of certain sound and visual elements.
