Public Steam disclosure research25,380 disclosures tracked
Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
GlitchSPANKR was handcrafted. We used AI audio sparingly and purposefully:
We remixed our own original tracks into ambient variations (e.g. a French-style version of “Friend”).
A handful of songs had lyrics we wrote and used AI to help generate their music, which we refined and often re-recorded ourselves.
One minor joke character uses an AI voice by design.
This game currently features AI-generated voiceovers to bring its characters and story to life. As a solo developer working on my first project, this was the most feasible option during development.
A post-release roadmap will be published, where I plan to transition to fully voiced lines by real voice actors as soon as resources allow.
Some of the original paintings and BGM in the game are generated by AI;
Some of the original paintings were generated by MJ and manually revised;
All music is generated, filtered, and tuned by Suno AI;
- AI voice generation tools were used to create pre-generated character voice lines for in-game dialogue.
- AI translation tools were used during development to create draft localization text for languages other than Arabic and English. These draft translations are included in the demo as AI-assisted draft localizations for UI, font, and text-length testing, and to help evaluate requirements for possible future professional human localization.
In Rivandy, Artificial Intelligence is only used as a creative assistant. Since we are a very small team, AI helps us mainly with artistic aspects—such as illustrations to enhance immersion, or voice generation to ensure consistency across characters. Occasionally, it may assist in code prototyping to unblock situations.
However, the game itself is essentially human-made: the core code, design, and mechanics are developed by us, and all visual assets such as FX and 3D models are purchased, not AI-generated.
This way, we can stay focused on building a unique, handcrafted experience while using AI only as a supportive tool.
An AI-assisted voice-over was included in the game's Early trailer. Most of the questions in the game were generated by artificial intelligence and translated into 8 different languages.
The game does not contain AI generated content.
All art, music, sound effects and all other assets are crafted by human hands.
The intro video on the store page contains an AI generated voice.
Our Policy for AI Use
Even if, and disclose from time to time that, we use AI in some of our products, it never means that our product consists of AI-generated content, which is simply impossible but may be presumed by some people. We continue our due diligence and necessary efforts to come up with the best content.
AI is a field that we keep track of and welcome curiously and excitedly. It is something not the world gives us but what we get from the world according to our requirements.
However,
We always consider the rights of commercial and ethical use of AI. Therefore, we subscribe to their content, pay their respective fee, and keep their receipts/licenses.
How may we use AI?
We may use outsourced AI in a number of different ways in addition to our own in-game AI mechanics, as it gives us uniqueness and originality as we like, and as long as its content is compliant with our above policy:
Sound files: We have a large collection of audio clips we have purchased and keep purchasing. We also have the means to make our own sound files. Sometimes we may also use AI-made sounds to make audio clips as well if we fail to find what we are looking for in our archive.
Graphics: We may use AI for some of our graphical assets. We have various means like software with which we can create characters, particularly our animated characters in the trailers and cutscenes, which are our own unique designs. We may use AI in this particular game in relation to the environment and some of the ancillary icons, finishings, and corrections.
Ideas: We may chat with AI about whether an idea is suitable for the current genre we are working on. However, we plan to discontinue this use of AI as it lacks originality. For example, when we asked for the names of two female characters for a fantasy game, AI suggested “Anya and Ayleen.” They are obviously names used before and we needed to change the names of our two characters.
The above use of our AI may naturally appear on our store page as we include fragments from our game to introduce and promote it.
This policy may be subject to change depending on the developments, ethical considerations, and circumstances regarding the use of AI in the future.
Most of the voices you hear in-game come directly from our friends and the development team. We used AI for a few characters, but we plan to replace them with professional voice actors as soon as we can.
Note on voice output:
This game uses AI-generated voices for voice output. The dialogues and texts were written by the developers and then set to music using modern text-to-speech systems. The aim is to provide consistent audio quality and make the content accessible to players with different language preferences.
Please note that these are not professional voice recordings, but synthetically generated voices.
This game makes use of state of the art generative text and voice services. Shouldermen relies on OpenAI GPT-5 for dialog and Eleven Labs for custom voices and Deepgram for voice input.
The game's intro video and ingame backgrounds were first created with 3D renders and then styled using Stable Diffusion. However, no images were created from scratch with ai. The resulting visuals were then cleaned up and refined using PixageFX and a pixel art editor. Additionally, a large portion of the character voiceovers were done using 'murf.ai' except 'Mike Jack'.
Our game is about shooting movies. We also allow players to create their own movies, including having characters say the lines of the movie script. Players can write dialogue and generate audio. The 3D animated characters act out the script.
Some in-game text was initially generated using AI translation tools and later manually reviewed and edited.
Additionally, a portion of the plugin code was developed using AI-assisted coding tools.
A small number of background music tracks are AI-generated royalty-free assets provided by S_Sleep and are used with permission.
No live AI content generation occurs during gameplay.
This game features AI-generated content to enhance the experience. AI is used to assist in creating in-game images, text, music, and sound effects, helping to shape the atmospheric world. Every AI-generated asset is carefully curated and refined to fit the game's style, ensuring a high-quality and cohesive experience.
AI Integration in Our Game
Our game incorporates generative artificial intelligence specifically for creating background music and enhancing visual elements. Here's an overview of how AI is utilized:
AI-Generated Background Music:
The background music in our game is generated using SUNO, a state-of-the-art AI music generation tool. This allows us to provide a unique and immersive auditory experience for players, ensuring that the music dynamically adapts to the gameplay and enhances the overall atmosphere.
AI-Generated Gun Icons:
In addition to music, we have also utilized ChatGPT to generate a few gun icons, which were then further refined and customized. This combination of AI generation and human touch ensures that our visual assets are both innovative and meticulously crafted.
The developer is a skilled artist who has created all of the art, except for some music and sound effects that were partially generated by different AI software to ease the cost and workload of solo development.
We've created voice lines for the player's hub A.I. companion, known as L.A.N.A. (short for Logical Artificial Neural Assistant), to narrate tutorial texts. They are all pre-rendered.
AI has been used for graphics--assets, characters, and backgrounds, though these AI graphics have been extensively edited and color corrected. AI has also been used to generate background music in keeping with the time period and style of the 1930s.
When Born In Reverie is released in full, around 5% of the code base will be AI generated snippets. All illustrations, UI elements, soundtracks, dialogue, sprite designs, etc. will be human-created.
-AI image generation was used for ideation on a small number of designs. What this actually means in practice is that AI images were created, modified, and then sent to real artists to serve as reference material in their work. The final illustrations and designs, were created by artists.
-To improve productivity, the development of Born in Reverie utilized AI tools for coding/programming support, and AI scaling algorithms to up/down sample a small number of human-created assets. Born in Reverie DOES NOT live produce anything in-game via AI generation.
-As an indie developer, I am unable to supervise the work of all the freelancers I work with and cannot guarantee their work is entirely AI free. If anyone I work with is found to produce content with significant AI usage, I will be removing their content and credits from the game and replacing their content with proper human artistry.
Above all else, Born in Reverie values human artistry and seeks to create something genuine and authentic for players to experience.
Some voice acting is generated using AI models trained on professional voice actors who have given their consent and are being compensated for their work.
