Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
This game was developed with the help of AI tools. AI assisted with programming, and some pre-generated content was created with AI assistance: pixel-art visual effects, background music, Japanese and Chinese translations, and parts of the store page text. All AI-assisted content was reviewed and edited by the developer. The game does not generate any content with AI while you play.
HELIOBANE was made with the help of generative AI tools.
- Assets: AI was used to generate some of the game's assets, including artwork, voice lines, sound effects, in-game text and translations. Artwork was edited and fitted to the game's 32-colour palette and style before use.
- Music: the soundtrack was made with a custom tracker built for agentic work, by an AI trained on a curated collection of public-domain tracker (MOD) music.
- Some store page and marketing art is also AI-assisted.
Nothing is generated while you play. All content is fixed in the build, and the game does not connect to any AI service.
Parts of this game were made with the help of generative AI tools:
- 3,928 of the 6,608 character portraits were created with generative AI tools and then selected and retouched by a person. The other 2,404 are historical images from public archives such as Wikimedia Commons, and 276 reuse an existing picture.
- The title-screen key art was created with generative AI.
- The character biographies and historical event texts were written with the assistance of generative AI, based on historical sources, and edited by the developer.
- The English, Japanese and Traditional Chinese translations were produced with the assistance of generative AI.
No content is generated by AI while the game is running.
Pre-generated AI-assisted illustrations are used in the Yustar studio opening animation and Steam store and library promotional artwork. AI also assisted with the written store descriptions. No content is generated using AI during gameplay.
During development, generative AI tools were used to assist in creating the 78 card illustrations, composing ambient background soundscapes, and drafting card interpretations. All assets were curated, edited, and assembled by the developer to build an atmospheric, cohesive divination sanctuary. The game does not generate live AI content during runtime.
The in-game text and the store page text, including the Korean, Japanese and Simplified Chinese translations, were written with the help of AI. Nothing is generated by AI while you play.
Game text and translations were created with the help of AI tools. The public build has no AI voices; it has no voice acting yet. The art is not made with generative AI: it comes from free CC0 asset packs plus shapes and textures built in code. Sound effects are synthesized by our own scripts. Nothing is generated by AI while you play.
AI-assisted tools were used to support performance optimization and to generate the player character. AI tools also contributed to enemy character assets, store artwork and translations. These uses concern content prepared during development.
A Light in the Gloam uses pre-generated AI content. Nothing is generated while the game is running, and the game makes no network calls of any kind.
Visual art: all in-game art was generated with OpenAI's image model (gpt-image-1) from prompts written by hand, then processed by our own scripts, which downscale it, quantise it to a fixed palette and trim it before it is placed in the game. This covers 14 character portraits, 43 enemy and boss sprites, 63 item icons, 27 wall, floor and ceiling textures, 10 dungeon props, 21 achievement emblems, and 14 town and title backdrops. The store capsules and the client icons are crops of the title-screen generation rather than new images.
Music and sound: all 14 music tracks were generated with ElevenLabs' music model and all 47 sound effects with ElevenLabs' sound-effects model, both from written prompts and both post-processed by our own scripts for level and length. There is no voice acting and no synthesised speech anywhere in the game.
Writing and translation: the game's text, meaning item and monster descriptions, dialogue, menus and the story, was written with the assistance of a large language model and then edited by hand. The Brazilian Portuguese translation was produced the same way and reviewed against the English.
Some character portraits were created with generative AI. AI tools were also used to help write and translate the store page and to translate the game's text. The story and dialogue were written by our team.
This product contains pre-generated content created with the assistance of generative AI tools during development. AI-assisted content includes selected 2D artwork, character portraits, unit illustrations, decorative interface imagery, trailer and store artwork, portions of the soundtrack, and some player-facing descriptive or localization text. AI-generated music is also used, and AI tools assisted with store-page text and localization. All AI-assisted content was selected, edited, and reviewed by the developer. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay.
The game's story, design and text were created by the developer. Generative AI was used as an assistant when writing the text of this store page and of the game, and to translate it into 12 languages; all of it was reviewed and edited by the developer. One song on the car radio ("Broken Hearts and Blue Moons", licensed from Pixabay) was produced by its author with generative AI. No content is generated while you play.
Almost all content in our game was handcrafted, we used real photos of berries, fruits and etc. to make donuts designs. We used AI as a supportive tool: to edit a few wall paintings, upscale and edit some textures, and fix grammar in the text.
We firmly believe AI is just an assistant—the core of our game remains human creativity and attention to detail.
Generative AI tools were used as development assistance for portions of the game’s code and player-facing text. All final content was reviewed, edited, integrated, and tested by the developer. The game does not use live-generated AI or connect to any AI service during gameplay.
The English localization was prepared with AI assistance and was fully reviewed and edited by the developer. Some in-game sounds were generated with AI. The capsule image on the Steam store page was generated with AI. The in-game visual and model assets were not generated with AI.
Psst! uses generative AI in two ways, and both run entirely on your own PC. Nothing you say or type is sent to a server, stored, or used to train anything.
Live voices: Bot players and the host speak their hints and table talk out loud through a text-to-speech model (Supertonic) that runs on your computer. The spoken lines come from the game's own writing and word lists. The AI only turns that text into audio.
Speech recognition: If you choose to play with your voice, a speech-to-text model (NVIDIA Parakeet) turns what you say into text so the game can read your hint or guess. This is optional, and you can always type instead.
All artwork, writing and game design were made by the developer or bought as assets with licenses.
AI tools were used only to assist with translating in-game text into supported languages. No AI-generated images, music, audio, or 3D models were used. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay.
Its creative direction and artistic content are rooted in human creativity and craftsmanship.
Generative AI was used to create various visual assets, character and environment designs, UI elements, promotional materials, and written content. Music was not generated using AI.
After a talk, audience questions are generated at runtime by a small open-weight language model (Qwen3) running locally on the player's computer, based on a transcript of what the player just said. Speech-to-text also runs locally (whisper.cpp). Nothing is sent to any server.
Generative AI was used to assist in the creation of some in-game images, textures, dialogue, store page text, and localization. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, and implemented by the developer. No live-generated AI content is used during gameplay.
ARIA's dialogue and speech are generated on the player's own machine at runtime by a language model and a text-to-speech voice that ship with the game. Nothing is sent to an external service and no player data leaves the machine. What ARIA says is constrained to the station's fiction and to evidence the player has actually found in-game. Some art, audio and text assets in the game were produced with AI tools and reviewed by the developer before shipping.
Frontier was conceived, designed, directed, and extensively play tested by a solo developer. Generative AI was used as the primary production tool to implement that vision, including programming, artwork, audio, writing, and other game assets. Every aspect of the game was developed through an iterative human-directed process, with the developer specifying requirements, reviewing results, requesting revisions, making design decisions, integrating systems, and personally testing and approving the final content. No generative AI is used during gameplay.
Peso Pena uses generative AI tools during production, under the direction and review of our team. AI was used to create pre-rendered visual assets, including character illustrations, sprites and animation frames, backgrounds, store artwork and trailer/cutscene footage, all of which were curated, edited and approved by our artists. Some in-game and store texts were drafted or translated with AI assistance and then reviewed by the team. The game does not generate any content at runtime: every image, animation, text and sound that players see is fixed and was reviewed before release.
DAWNBLOOM uses generative AI-assisted tools during the development of certain game content. The in-game “Dawnbloom Spirit” feature connects to a generative AI service to provide real-time text responses to players’ game-related questions, including game knowledge, gameplay explanations, and general guidance. This feature generates auxiliary text content only. It does not generate or modify game code, nor does it directly control game rules, character data, or player assets.

Part of the graphics (characters, enemies, bosses, icons, room backgrounds and backdrops) was created with image-generation tools: Google Gemini, OpenAI ChatGPT and a locally run Stable Diffusion model. Part of the music was created with audio-generation tools (Google Gemini). Part of the code, room layouts and texts were written with the help of an AI assistant. The developer reviewed, cut, retouched and hand-adjusted all of this material before adding it to the game. The game does not generate any AI content while it is being played.
Parts of Frag Party's artwork and translated text were produced with generative AI tools.
Artwork: the promotional key art that the store capsules are composed from, and a small number of
static wallpaper images used as backdrops behind a few of the challenges.
Text: the non-English interface translations (Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic and
Simplified Chinese). English is the original and was written by hand.
Everything else is human-made: all gameplay and code, the 3D characters, weapons and environments,
animation, interface layout and audio. Nothing is generated while you play, and the game does not
connect to any AI service.
Logo/branding art: The game's logo and some promotional material was generated using an AI image generation tool.

Programming assistance: helping to write and debug parts of the game code.
Translation assistance: helping to translate the text for non-Chinese language versions.
The artwork and writing that players see in the game were not generated by AI.
We used AI as a supporting tool to translate and proofread the in-game text. Every translation was reviewed and adjusted by our team before it went into the game.
The game engine is written with substantial AI assistance.
Some dialogues and quest texts are AI generated, and are successively replaced by human-written dialogue. Every piece of flavor text has a label that states the author (human or ai).
The 3D character models are currently generated with AI, and then transformed through a custom pipeline to work with the text-based graphics and CPU rendering. It is possible to replace them with manually crafted models.
We combined hands-on development with AI tools to help speed up our workflow, including work on artwork, music, text, and translations. Our team designed and built the game, guided its creative direction, and edited and refined the visuals to match TIP or RIP’s cartoon style.
