Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with portions of debugging and gameplay balancing. All AI-assisted output was reviewed, modified, tested, and integrated by the developer. The game does not connect to generative AI services or generate AI content during gameplay.
We use AI as a coding assistant during development, and as a drafting tool to help generate candidate crossword clues from our word bank. Every single clue is reviewed and edited by a human before it ships. AI generated images were used during prototyping as early placeholders. All final visual art assets that ship with the game have been created by the developer.
Used AI to over optimize the performance of the game as it is very painful to have 1000 monsters with real physics on your screen at the same time and 100 projectiles per seconds without turning your pc into an oven
This game used AI generated content in early phases for help with game art. This content was later modified or changed completely to achieve the creative vision of the developer.
During the development of this game, AI tools were used solely as a coding assistance aid — primarily to help identify and fix minor bugs, and to assist with small code corrections and improvements. AI was not used to generate any content experienced by the player, including visual assets, audio, narrative or in-game text. All artwork, sound, and written content presented to the player are original and human-created. The AI usage disclosed here is limited to development-side coding assistance and does not appear as generated content within the final player-facing experience.
Generative AI technology is used in a supplementary capacity during the creation of some user interface assets.
Any such assets are replaced through our production pipeline by our art and development teams, ensuring they meet our quality standards and creative direction.
This game utilized generative AI tools to assist with code writing and creative design during development. All AI-generated content has been strictly tested, reviewed, and optimized to ensure game quality and stability.
Development is AI-assisted: source code, the procedural asset factories (meshes, MetaSound hero sounds, code-driven UMG) and docs are written with AI tooling under human review in-repo. No external generative-AI image/audio assets are imported; everything ships from the code-authored pipeline.
During development, as a solo developer, Claude Code was especially helpful for debugging, development and testing. There is no LLM usage within Frontier Protocol and no external connection is required to play Frontier Protocol.
This software does NOT use Generative AI to generate images, artwork, audio, or text. All visual elements, templates, and store assets are 100% original, hand-crafted art and photography created directly by the developer.
Machine Learning and AI technologies are strictly limited to technical functionality and development:
- Background Removal Tool: A local, non-generative Machine Learning feature accessed by users to instantly remove image backgrounds and create striking visual compositions.
- Software Development: AI-assisted coding tools (vibe-coding / LLM assistance) were used during the programming process.
No AI-generated content is included in the software or produced during runtime.
AI-Generated code has been used to help speed up development, debug code, and optimize core systems. All engine architecture, structural logic, and tool designs remain fully custom-built from scratch. The final compiled software consists entirely of human-written and human-reviewed code to ensure strict stability, performance, and integrity.
AI was utilized to generate some references and provide consultations during the code development process. Additionally, AI assisted in translating and correcting grammatical errors, as English is not my native language.
I wanted to lie and say I didn’t use ai at all, but my conscience wouldn't let me.
As an independent developer/publisher, AI-assisted tools have been used selectively to support presentation and marketing workflows, not to replace the game’s creative direction or development.
The game itself is designed, directed, developed, coded, and assembled by human creators. Core gameplay systems, level design, story direction, implementation, and development decisions are not generated by AI.
AI was used only during early development for temporary placeholder assets. These materials are not intended to be included in the final shipped game.
The game does not use live-generated AI content during gameplay.
Generative AI was used throughout nearly every aspect of this game's development and production. AI and a human developer formed an unholy union of sound and mind (a merge, if you will) to birth this production.
No generative AI runs during gameplay. Its contributions were created during development.
I mostly use AI for debugging and I make it document my code for me. I've been using it for placeholder art but intend on replacing all, or at least most of them by release. I use it like a tool I can turn to for general tasks rather then a crutch that does everything.
This game uses AI-assisted tools solely for programming and logic development. AI helped generate some basic code frameworks, but all core game logic was manually written, tested, and optimized.
AI tools were used as assistive tools during development, specifically for code writing and text proofreading. No AI-generated content is used in the game's art assets, sound effects, or music.
Selby is a desktop AI assistant tool. It generates text responses, code, and document content in real time, and performs automated tasks to streamline your workflow.
Generative AI was used during development to support early concept exploration and rapid prototyping, including testing visual directions, compositions, and placeholder ideas. All AI-assisted material was reviewed and refined by the development team, with final creative and design decisions made by humans. The game does not generate content using AI during gameplay.
Generative AI tools were used only as a development assistant to help prototype and refine accessibility-related code and interface behavior. The game does not include AI-generated narrative, artwork, audio, characters, translations, or live-generated AI content.
AI-assisted tools were used during development. All final content was reviewed and approved by the developer. No AI content is generated during gameplay.
Generative AI was used during pre-production to create early concept sketches, used purely as visual inspiration and reference. None of these initial AI-generated images appear in the final game, all art assets were subsequently created and replaced by the development team. Generative AI tools were also used to assist with writing portions of the game's code and with translating the game's text into other languages. In all cases, all output was reviewed, tested, and approved by human developers before being used in the final product.
This is not actually required to disclose but since it crosses the line for some people, I should admit that AI coding tools were used during the game's production.
No AI was used to generate any images, audio, text, or design.
Its purpose was to help code mechanics according to my design, assist in debugging, and (most importantly) eliminate crunch.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with programming tasks and to generate some reference assets and 3D models. All AI-generated content was reviewed, modified, and integrated by the developers.
AI tools were used to assist with early visual ideation and development production pipelines. All content has been reviewed, edited, refined, and integrated by the development team.
AI tools were used during development to assist with programming and debugging. All game design, mechanics, artwork, audio, and final implementation decisions were created and managed by the developer.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with portions of the game’s code, including implementation, debugging, refactoring, and testing. The resulting code was reviewed, edited, integrated, and tested before inclusion in the shipped build. The game does not contain a generative AI model, does not connect to a generative AI service, does not accept player prompts, and does not generate code or other AI content while running.
Claude was used as a coding assistant throughout the creation process. All artwork/sound/music/gameplay/creative stuff was designed by humans as should be.
