Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Some of the scene and character illustrations are generated by AI.
Non-English localizations are AI-assisted and reviewed by our team for quality. Simplified Chinese was additionally reviewed by a native speaker. We welcome community feedback to help improve translations over time.
We believe that no person should be replaced by AI. All Primals — their models, animation, rigging, textures, SFX, and VFX — have been handcrafted by skilled artists. Our developers may choose to use generative AI as part of an iterative, exploratory development process, but how and when is left to individual team members, and the final product always reflects the creativity and expression of our own development team. As a small team, we have licensed some icons and 2D assets from external creators, and it is possible that some of these creators have used generative AI.
AI was used to generate trailer music and couple of upgrades icons, but game is still in early development phase and i'm working on replacing those with real art.
The game wasn't made with AI, but the marketing photos for the game were made with AI.
Some translation text is translated by AI for languages where we have been unable to find a human translator. If you are interested in helping update these with human translations, contact holycowgamedev+translate@gmail.com
This project's entire graphic asset collection (all sprites) and all code is entirely generated by AI. It has been assembled and tweaked by the creator, but otherwise is 95% AI generated. This is purposeful and was intended to test some limits of Claude and GPT5.
Some of the 2D user interface (UI) elements and 3D models in the game were generated using AI tools. These assets have been carefully reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer to fit the game's art style and ensure they comply with copyright standards.
Only parts of audio have been created using AI. This includes narration, background music and some sound effects
Hero portraits and flavour text were created by AI tools.
Generative AI was used solely for the creation of pre-rendered visual assets (store page illustrations, library assets, and in-game images).
AI Usage Disclosure Human-like characters are AI-generated and do not represent real individuals. Visuals and gameplay systems were developed with AI assistance. All creative decisions were made by the developer.
Some promotional artwork, store capsule images, and marketing visuals were created with the assistance of generative AI tools and then reviewed, selected, and edited by the developer. The game itself does not generate new AI content during gameplay.
Some visual assets in Demon Ark: Idle RPG were created with the assistance of generative AI, including monster artwork, item and equipment icons, background images, and Steam store marketing assets such as capsule images and logo artwork. Unit character graphics and UI assets were produced separately as non-AI commissioned/manual artwork. All AI-assisted assets are reviewed, selected, and edited before being included in the game or store page. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay and does not connect to external AI services while running.
Pre-generated AI-assisted artwork is used for fictional chess player avatars and selected promotional visuals. These assets are reviewed before inclusion. No live generative AI is used during gameplay.
Demon Rising uses generative AI for part of its content: Live-generated narrative — The game includes a local AI language model that runs fully offline on your PC; no internet connection is required and no data is sent anywhere. During play it generates dynamic dialogue for your demon officers, war-council debates, prisoner interrogations and boss encounters, keeping conversations varied across runs. All generated text is constrained by the game's prompts to in-game characters and situations and is bounded by built-in safeguards. If the AI model is unavailable, the game automatically falls back to hand-written dialogue, so the full game is playable either way. Pre-generated artwork — Some character portraits and illustrations were created with the help of AI image-generation tools, then selected and edited by the developer. All AI-assisted content is curated and reviewed by the developer.
Some game’s art and community assets were created with AI tools.
We used AI for translation and coding work. However, all graphic assets were hand-drawn by us!
Some art assets in the game were created and optimized using AI.
Most artwork is hand-drawn. AI-generated assets were used as prototypes and later modified manually.
This title was developed with substantial assistance from generative AI.[Store Assets — Visual Content]The key visual, store capsule images, library assets (including the library hero), and certain screenshot backgrounds were produced using image generation AI ("Midjourney v7 / Niji v7") under a commercial license (Standard tier).[Source Code, Game Design, and In-Game Text]The C++ source code, data structures, system architecture, gameplay mechanics specifications, in-game text, item naming conventions, job names, and skill names were developed in collaboration with conversational AI ("Claude" by Anthropic and "Gemini" by Google).[The Developer's Role]Quench Forge handles concept, product vision, product management, final specification decisions, hands-on PIE (Play-In-Editor) testing, bug reports, and release decisions.Code generation, code review, test design, system architecture, game mechanics specifications, in-game text, and marketing materials are all created in collaboration with Claude (Anthropic) and Gemini (Google). Every AI-generated artifact is filtered through the developer's "appraiser's eye" — selected, approved, and revised through specification feedback — before being incorporated into the product. This game applies its own core theme — "an appraiser-shopkeeper who reads materials and Modifiers to forge the right blade" — to its own development process.[Runtime Behavior]No generative AI runs during gameplay. All in-game mechanics operate on compiled, deterministic algorithms (with optional reproducible random seeds). The game does not require any online connection to AI services during play.
The capsule images were initially created by hand, then enhanced using AI tools, and finally refined and finalized manually.
Some visual elements in this game, such as textures and illustrations, were partially generated or enhanced using artificial intelligence tools, and then manually refined and integrated by the development team.
This game includes AI‑generated assets, such as sprites, icons, illustrations, and sound effects. All AI‑generated content was created during development, manually reviewed, and integrated as static assets. The game does not generate any AI content during gameplay, and it does not create dynamic images, audio, or text for players. All included assets are fixed and safe.
The art and music assets in this game were created with the assistance of generative AI technology. As a registered architect in my day job, I am used to using tools like CAD to aid my designs. In game development, AI plays the exact same role—it is a tool, but the soul of the design comes from the human creator. I do not allow any rough, unpolished assets into my game. Therefore, all AI-generated content has gone through my strict "manual inspection": rigorous prompt tuning, meticulous manual overpainting, and audio trimming. I carefully polish every visual and auditory "brick" to build the perfect cultivation world, pouring my true craftsmanship entirely into the core "Eight Trigrams Array" deck-building experience.
Generation of 2D images
AI was used for shading of models. Some hair and facial hair variations were altered with AI. Some of the UI panels and icons were generated with AI.
We use AI to code faster and generate placeholder art assets. All the AI-generated art assets (and most of the stock assets) will be replaced before the game is launched. The game design, art direction, and overall vision is all from our (human!) team.
AI tools were used during development for assistance with English localization, parts of programming, and the creation of certain icons and visual assets. All generated content was reviewed and edited by the developer before being included in the final game.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with portions of the game's programming workflow, including prototyping, debugging, and code iteration. All code is reviewed, modified, integrated, and validated by the developer.
The capsule art includes developer-created imagery that was enhanced and polished using generative AI tools.
We live in an era where every developer uses generative AI. We see it as just another tool that helps with development, and we'll continue to use it more actively going forward.
AI was used in the making of imagery for the game.
This game is a solo project, and to help bring this world to life, I’ve utilized generative AI as a digital collaborator. I use these tools to help generate [e.g., background assets, soundscapes, or UI elements] that would otherwise be out of reach for a team of one. Every AI-assisted asset has been carefully curated and edited by hand to ensure it fits the game's unique style and narrative.
AI was used to create images and animations
Only a few images are created by AI first and then edited in Photoshop.
ARB: Alien Races Battle is developed by a solo human author (Raphael Tremblay) with assistance from Anthropic's Claude AI as a coding, art, and writing collaborator throughout production. Specifically: - Some pixel-art unit sprites, ability icons, and UI elements were generated as SVG code with Claude's help, then reviewed, edited, and approved by the developer. - In-game ability descriptions, Field Manual codex entries, and supplementary lore text were written with Claude as a writing collaborator, all building on the existing canon of The Alien Races Book (a separate, fully human-authored book by the same author that predates this game by years). - Game code (gameplay engine, multiplayer infrastructure, UI logic) was developed with Claude as a coding-pair assistant. Every piece of AI-assisted content was reviewed and edited by the human developer before shipping. The game's core IP — the 60+ documented alien races, their homeworlds, and their first-contact records — comes from The Alien Races Book and is entirely human-authored. ARB does not use AI to generate content live during gameplay. All in-game content (units, sprites, abilities, sound, text, music) is finalized at build time and shipped as static assets.

The game map and models are created by AI technology and manual modifications
Runeveil: Idle PvP uses generative AI tools only during the design phase of 2D pixel art assets (characters, monsters, items, environments and icons). These visuals serve as a working base and are then edited, integrated and manually reviewed by the team before being added to the game. No generative AI is used for the game's code, for generating content in real time during gameplay, nor for the soundtrack, narrative text or translations. All content you see in the game has been checked and assembled by hand.
