Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
During the development process, we may use procedural- and AI-based tools to assist with content creation. This includes generating reference- and base-material for 2D art as well as text-to-speech audio material.

Critias Empire uses images of public domain 18th and 19th century classical oil on canvas paintings, but since there are only a limited number of these, AI generated images are used where no appropriate historical public domain image can be found. This includes backgrounds, illustrations for buildings, features, disasters, maps and characters, plus live ops, events and marketing material.
The images are generated using paid subscription to Midjourney. Crystalline Green Ltd. owns the copyright on the generated images.
We are a small independent studio with limited budget, but we appreciate not everyone is comfortable with use of AI generated images in commercial games, so we understand if you would prefer not to play our game. Feel free to contact us if you have further questions or concerns.
This game utilizes AI-generated imagery only event pop-up illustrations (approximately 10~15 images) depicting scenarios like theft and plagues.
All other visual assets, including key art and god depictions, are hand-crafted.
There is no AI generated content in the game, and we don't use AI to generate content or assets for the game.
During a previous playtest we found out that some assets from a third-party-pack from the marketplace, that we used in game as placeholders for icons, might have been created using generative AI, even though the seller did not explicitly state this. We removed these assets from the game just to be sure.
- Some artworks have been made with the help of the Midjourney AI tool.
- The Map Data in some countries has been generated with the help of AI technology to recognize satellite images.
This game uses generative AI tools during its development. Specifically:
AI was used to assist in the creation and artistic refinement of marketing assets, library hero images, and the game title logo.
AI was used to provide reference and optimization for certain static environmental background assets within the game. All AI-generated content has been manually edited and quality-controlled to ensure it aligns with the game's oriental art style.
Some game content, marketing materials, and character voices for Medieval Frontiers were created or translated with the assistance of AI tools. While we use these technologies to support our workflow, every feature and narrative beat is a result of our team’s deliberate creative decisions. The final experience is hand-guided by our vision to ensure the world feels authentic to our players.
Some of the voice-over dialogs during the introduction cut-scene are computer generated. Some of the images during the introduction cut-scene were stylized using generative AI.
