Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
SEVERAL UI GRAPHICS ARE PARTIAL AI ART THAT WAS EDITED AND PLACED INTO PRE EXISTING ART MADE FOR GAME
Some of the marketing and in-game art is made with AI assistance from base images.
The in-game character illustrations and game music are all generated by AI.
Some languages were AI translated from English.
We used generative AI tools to assist with visual development and world-building. Specifically, we used AI-generated concept art and background compositions as inspiration during early prototyping phases. These assets helped guide the tone and direction of the environments but were later refined or replaced manually to meet performance and visual standards. We also used AI-assisted writing tools to iterate on in-game lore and placeholder dialogues, ensuring consistency in narrative tone. No generative AI was used to create final voice lines or essential gameplay mechanics. All AI-generated content was carefully reviewed, curated, and edited by the development team before inclusion.
Some of the promotional materials (such as capsule images and library assets) were created using AI-based tools and then manually edited. In addition, the main character “Tung Tung Sahur” was initially generated using AI and then redesigned and animated manually. There is no AI-generated content during actual gameplay. AI usage is limited to marketing visuals and early character concept creation only.
translation, code & writing support
Generative AI was used to create the graffiti on the walls and all the posters in the game.
AI was used to create translation, some game item icons, avatars and backgrounds for news. All locations, monsters, characters and items, as well as all original texts are created entirely by human artists.
Steam Key arts
The game's intro video contains 50% AI-generated drawings
Horror Images
This game uses artificial intelligence generated artworks and illustrations.
We've used AI to generate icons for our power-ups. The translations may also be generated by AI in some instances.
We use AI tools to generate visual assets such as backgrounds and character art. This allows us to focus our time and energy on writing the story and creating the gameplay experience. No AI is used for writing, voice acting, or decision-making.
AI used for some 3d assets
Artificial intelligence was only used for voiceovers.
AI used to create some marketing materials. 1 man dev team so used AI to go from concept sketch to digital assets.
We utilized AI for creating the spell/skill cards images as well as the loading screen and main menu graphical art.
The promotional images and UI art assets of this game are generated using AI !
A small amount of resources created through generative AI tools, such as icons or scene models, were used in the game.
Translation was supported by AI tools. Some background textures include AI-generated content. There is nothing that is being generated live in real-time by AI.
During the development, we used generative AI on our capsule image and code-completion AI agents such as CoPilot.
- 1 of the 8 optional title themes is alleged to have used AI - even though the band insists otherwise, offered up the track a year before this project existed, and refused any payment for doing so. You can interrogate them on the matter here: https://www.bandlab.com/track/390bf936d0be49dda14dd68c125d500f_2a98d8102c85406ab4e8fdfbfe0cbda5 Had I used AI myself, I like to think I'd take the opportunity to produce something more relevant than muttering "there are people who will never change" on a loop. I bought the rights to the other 7 themes in 2016, so it's unthinkable they used AI. - I invested tens of thousands of dollars in professional assets from the Unity Asset Store - most of which again pre-date AI, or otherwise give assurances that it was not used. - The "Infinite Lives" logo dates back to the iOS release of 2017, where using AI would have put a terrible strain on the space-time continuum. - AI helped to depict the zombie fist in more of a comic book style and then upscale it to a higher resolution. The intention was to create an "other-worldly" art style that is deliberately distinct from the developer's own 2D or 3D. There was supposed to be a new cover every month like a real comic series. - AI helped to construct a legal argument for the release of a customizable superhero sim, citing precedents and loopholes that the developer was not familiar with. - My accountant may have used a calculator to calculate how much money we lost by releasing 2 games for the price of 1.
In order to create better backgrounds and focus on the core parts of the game, we used AI to help create some of the backgrounds and props in the game. After the AI generates these images, our artists still need to make detailed modifications to them to ensure that the style of the backgrounds and props matches the environment, worldview, UI, and characters drawn by our talented artists.
Using AI technology in the game development process, there is no real-time AI performance in the game

Our game uses generative AI exclusively for creating synthetic sounds and voiceovers. These AI-generated audio elements are entirely artificial and are not based on or identifiable with any real individual. We do not use AI for gameplay, narrative, or character design—only for enhancing the audio experience.
We used AI to generate some background picture、card picture etc,etc
Some of the artwork was edited/created using AI tools.
The colorful background of the store assets is AI generated
Artificial intelligence helped create some of the basic graphics and sounds in the game. It was not used for the game code. We plan to use AI for future promotions and for entertaining content for the community and fans of the game.
IA supported the creation of this game
We leverage AI technology to compose the music for our game, creating unique and immersive soundscapes tailored to the gameplay experience.
Generative AI is used for some marketing logos and textures present on the store page and in-game.
AI was used to create translation, some game item icons, avatars and backgrounds for news. All locations, monsters, characters and items, as well as all original texts are created entirely by human artists.
The game's introductory images were created using AI-generated content. The capsule images were also partially generated using AI tools.
Our game was crafted by a small team of 2 passionate creators, and like many modern developers, we used AI tools to support (not replace) our creative process. Think of it like using Photoshop or a 3D engine: AI helped us brainstorm and experiment faster, but every asset in the game has been carefully edited, polished, and finalized by human hands. We believe in originality, quality, and creativity — and we’ve made sure everything in the game reflects that.
Sounds for marketing.
AI has been used for the art of the game such as the cards art and UI.
COF features intelligent AI NPCs that enhance your gameplay experience. These NPCs can engage in dynamic conversations, providing unique dialogue and responses based on your interactions. They also play a key role in delivering and adapting missions, offering a more personalized and engaging adventure. Please note that the AI does not generate harmful or inappropriate content it is set up in that way.
