Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
The AI is used to generate assets for my game, but users cannot use it to generate their own assets.
The game uses generative AI to create certain character portrait images. These portraits are produced through a directed process involving manual adjustment of predefined parameters related to facial features and lighting. Selected portraits are pre-rendered, curated, and fixed at development time. No content is generated dynamically during gameplay.
Some images on the walls and a small amount of textures are temporarily AI-generated. Will be replaced by human-created content.
Some graphic, icons or design
Artificial intelligence has been used to create in-game assets and certain store materials.
Use AI to generate images as reference, and then make some modifications to the AI images as 2D images in the game.
I used generative AI as part of my process for creating images and text for monsters and NPCs. To do so, I have a proprietary way I generate and tune the prompt that feed the system, followed by multiple-post processing steps to generate the images and text you see in the game.
Some sound effects generated by ElevenLabs The opening title screen was created using fusionbrain
The developers make use of agentic coding tools like Claude Code in their work process. In-game and store descriptions have been translated using ai-tools in the localization process.
Generative AI was used to create some in-game posters, product labels, and parts of 3D models.
Two music tracks accompanying the in-game radio were created using generative AI.
AI-generated texts and translations are partly used for the game and for marketing material.
For creating image assets and music
游戏内部分图片使用AI生产后由人工修图转绘。
There are three elements of AI used within the game, these being: 1. The title screen artwork 2. Musical elements 3. The narration
We used AI to generate the capsule images for the game's store page and some in-game icons. AI was also used while developing to generate a one-time world map with country details used in the game.
This game uses minimal amount of Ai generated images from paid accounts and other sources.
We utilized AI tools to generate internal references for composition and framing. These outputs were then used as a base to manually create handcrafted pixel art assets, ensuring all final in-game visuals follow our custom palettes and artistic standards.
AI images are used to show the what the driver of the computer controlled cars look like if they win.
AI was used experimentally to generate reference images that were used in the creation of a various art assets in the game. These AI images do not appear in game and were only used indirectly in the exact same way one might use a photo reference.
There are a handful of times we've used AI to create details in the background of some of our scenes, but this content is rare and often temporary. We also have an instance of AI generated music - we've got a silly ambient track that plays in the game's end-game-failure-state scene.
The grapics on the shop page is ai generated. Most of the texture in the game are hand-drawn, but some of them are ai-generated. All game levels are hand-crafted in the level editor (everybody who owns the game can do that, too). Enemy behaviour is deterministic and sometimes random; no ai used here.

Some art assets were created using AI image generation
I enjoy crafting dozens of background images in the game, from personal travel photos of varied scenery, drawings, and patiently process and mash them using AI and non AI tools. The art for the board games themselves (pawns, tiles) is abstract and simply done with gimp (traditional 2D image editor)
Promotional video was partially created using Microsoft ClipChamp. No other use of AI
No AI content is generated during gameplay. Some art was created with the help of AI, but everything was hand-edited and polished. As a solo indie dev with limited resources, I used AI as a tool — the final style and heart of the game are purely crafted with care.
AI was used to generate the picture on the menu screen as well as the game's logo picture. AI was not used to write code or has anything to do with gameplay. I didn't have an artist at the time of creation.
In order to enhance the visual effects and content diversity of the game, we have used AI generated art materials in some map scenes and monster designs. All AI generated materials have been carefully adjusted and optimized to ensure they are consistent with the overall style of the game.
Menu elements such as backgrounds contain art generated with tools using Artificial Intelligence.
Most face textures of human models were created using AI.
Xeno Rangers uses AI to help generate interface image details as well as community / promotional material. The AI uses our own 3D models as reference to generate from and uses realistic photographic styling as to not infringe on any works.
There is some use of AI art on the Store page. There is a photograph in the introduction of the game that was created by AI. Once at the main menu, no more AI art or tools are used in the game experience.

Hey folks, RantCPU here with a little update on RantCPU's ClickBait! We're all about parodying AI tech, and we’re taking it very seriously. To save on those sky-high computing costs, I've roped in some human "assistants" and forced them to handle most of the heavy lifting. So, while some minor assets might get a touch of AI magic, the main game goodies, including all my cards, are human-made and ethically sourced. Apologies in advance for any slip-ups—unlike my flawless AI brilliance, humans are bound to mess up now and then. Enjoy the game and embrace the chaos!

Some assets from Meh have been generated by AI
Some images are created by generative AI.
I use AI to edit some images. It is less than 1% of the content.
Some pre-rendered art assets
The game uses a small amount of AI-generated textures, materials as assets.
Dall-E 3 was used to help generate the textures and pixel art, no artist prompts were used, just generic terms. Suno was used for the music.
some in game music was generated with Udio
Some design, icons or graphics.
Some images and icons of the game and store page are generated by AI.
I generated a bunch of reference images in the process of making the enemy battler sprites. The final pixel art is entirely my fault though; please don't blame the robots for my performance there.
The current active demo includes a small amount of generated AI art as temporary placeholders during development. These assets are being removed or replaced with hand crafted art and will not be present in the final version of the game.
We utilized AI tools to generate internal references for composition and framing. These outputs were then used as a base to manually create handcrafted pixel art assets, ensuring all final in-game visuals follow our custom palettes and artistic standards.

Some of the graphics were created with DALL-E and then edited afterwards.
