Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI was used as a helper tool for the art production and localization.
The game itself was developed without the use of generative AI. During the development and release process, we may use AI-based tools to assist with the creation of certain store marketing materials (such as Steam banners). In all such cases, the final materials reflect the creativity and expression of our own development team.
Generative AI has been used during development for concept art, UI mockups, and marketing materials. No generative AI is used during gameplay, and all in-game content is authored and controlled by the developer. AI-generated assets are used only as illustrative or promotional material and do not impersonate real individuals or infringe on copyrighted works.
Generative AI was used during development to assist with the creation of some 2D images, audio assets, and the initial translation of text. All AI-generated content was reviewed, edited, and approved by the developer before being included in the game.
The game's store page text and cover images are created using visual and text-based artificial intelligence tools.
Characters voices are being tested with AI for the development phase. Should be replaced before lauch.
Some visuals and sounds created in this game are produced and integrated by artificial intelligence.
The development of The Utopian Project makes limited use of AI-assisted tools during early production, primarily for concept exploration and background asset iteration. All final content is curated, reviewed, and integrated by the development team.
Some sound effects and music in the game were created using AI-assisted tools.
AI was used for the creation of some assets, such as the skybox in game, and the sand texture for one of the maps.
In The Final Shuffle, we incorporated AI-generated content for specific elements, including capsule images, library assets, and the game icon.
During the development process, AI-based tools are utilized to assist with the creation of visual content only. In all such cases, these tools serve strictly as a support mechanism, and the final product remains a direct reflection of the developer's original vision, design, and standards.
Small portion of code is generated using AI
Generative AI tools were used exclusively in the creation of certain store page visual assets (such as promotional images and graphical materials). All gameplay elements, in-game content, mechanics, design, and implementation were created and finalized by the developer. No generative AI was used in the development of the game itself. Generative AI was used solely as a visual asset creation tool for marketing materials displayed on the store page.
Generative AI is used exclusively for promotional and environmental elements, such as trailer backgrounds and screenshot scenery. Please note that the User Interface (UI) and all software features shown are authentic and accurate representations of the actual product.
Generative artificial intelligence has been used only for marketing and promotional materials, such as concept imagery and visual assets created for external marketing purposes. No generative AI tools are used within the game itself. All in-game content, including gameplay systems, environments, characters, narrative elements, audio, and animations, is entirely handcrafted by the development team. The store page description, gameplay experience, and all playable content do not rely on live-generated or pre-rendered AI-generated assets.
Generative AI tools were utilized during the development process to create base assets for certain environmental textures, prop designs, and auxiliary texts. All AI-assisted contents have been manually refined and edited by the developer to fit the game's unique atmosphere and artistic vision.
Currently, AI was used to localize the store page and in-game text from English into other languages. We plan to verify and refine these translations with human speakers soon to ensure the highest quality possible.

Some promotional visuals were created using generative AI tools and were then manually edited.
AI was only used to enhance images we already had, giving them a look more in line with the game’s retro ’80s theme. Its use was limited solely to images for the store page and game icons.
This game uses pre-generated AI only for certain UI background images and promotional store visuals. These assets were created before release and remain fixed. The game does not include any live AI generation during gameplay.
A few of the textures in the game (leaves, flesh, etc.) were generated using ai powered tools.
I use AI to supplement as a stand in for what will eventually become human made content, currently its just music at the main menu and some parts of images in advertisements
Some visual assets such as UI elements, icons, and promotional images were created or assisted using generative AI tools. All assets were reviewed, edited, and implemented by the developer. No copyrighted material was intentionally replicated.
Since this game is older than “Reflection Of Sin”, I was inexperienced when it came to finding good ambient music. For this reason, I used AI to create ambient music in only a few levels.
AI Usage: very few 3D models
Generative AI tools were utilized during the development of The Bliss to assist with initial script brainstorming, technical troubleshooting, and the creation of minor 2D artwork elements. All AI-assisted content was heavily modified, edited, and curated by the development team to align with the game's strict artistic vision. (Note: Any 3D AI-generated assets were used strictly as temporary placeholders during prototyping and have been completely replaced by human-crafted models in the final release).
Use of UI Assets and Visual Elements The game uses a combination of custom-made assets and assisted tools for certain visual elements. Some UI icons and minor interface elements were created with the help of generation tools and then manually edited and integrated into the game. This includes: small UI icons damage indicators ability cards and card elements UI cards and visual overlays promotional banners for the Steam store All generated elements are used as supporting visuals, refined and adapted to fit the game’s original design, gameplay systems, and overall art direction. Core gameplay visuals, mechanics, environments, and animations are fully custom and developed specifically for the game.
Because I'm developing this game solo, I use generative to iterate quickly and rapidly produce content.

This uses AI-assisted tools within software like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or programs such as Topaz Gigapixel to enhance or upscale texture quality in development.
Promotional graphics for loading title were AI generated. All screenshots and videos are of actual gameplay.
The game's cover art was created using AI.
We use AI for dev placeholders. UI Icons for now.
We are using AI-powered tools in the promotion process of our game. AI plays a supportive role in language translation, store pages, marketing materials, and content creation for community posts. All AI-generated content is reviewed and improved by our team before finalization.
This game uses pre-rendered AI-generated audio for voice overs.
The game may utilize artificial intelligence technologies to generate or assist in generating certain visual materials or other multimedia assets for marketing and promotional purposes.
I use AI to debug my existing code so I don't need to spend time looking at documentation. I also use AI to generate some of the art but not all of it.
I used AI for generating some images
As a solo dev, I do not have the skills like many other dev teams. Therefore some parts like the game icon, and the image of the game name, are made with the help of AI. I do not have any plans to expand beyond that.
Promo materials for marketing and community.
Some visual assets used in the store page and in-game presentation were initially created with the assistance of AI-based tools and were subsequently manually edited, refined, and integrated by the developer. AI tools were used only as part of the early creative workflow (such as concept exploration or base imagery). All final assets were curated, modified, and approved by a human developer. No AI-generated content is created dynamically at runtime, and AI is not used to generate gameplay logic, player interactions, or in-game decisions.
Capsule images on store page were enhanced and edited using AI tools.
We used AI tools to generate some of the game’s 2D icons, UI artwork, and background music. All AI-generated assets were reviewed, edited, and integrated manually by the developers. No real-time AI generation occurs during gameplay, and the game does not send any user data to external AI services.
