Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
The AI was used to generate character and some of in-game background and story illustrations.
Most of the images are AI rendered images.
The scenarios were generated by Artificial Intelligence based on existing places. But the characters were drawn in a traditional way by a semi-professional illustrator
AI tools were utilized sparingly to assist in early development of some background images. All AI-assisted content has been heavily refined and painted over by the artist.
使用AI进行背景、人物图片的放大处理,简单的调音处理,以及一张帆船图片 Using AI for background and character image enlargement, simple tuning, and a sailboat image
All background images are AI generated.
A large majority of the images, textures, items, and characters are generated by hand or AI in post-production. Real artists contributed to designing some of the game's characters, items, and textures, which were then enhanced by AI. Working with a very small team allows us to push the boundaries of game development.
The artwork of the townspeople and the collectible artwork in the "Image Gallery" used generative AI.

AI technology was used in the backgrounds and items as an aid to the design.
In creating the artworks, AI was partially utilized.
The image in the main menu and some UI components are made with the help of Midjourney(AI)
AI-generated images were used in some background illustrations.

This is an experimental short prototype demo, so a few images are generated by AI. The AI-generated images include only: 1. Unimportant villager portraits. 2. The dream concept illustration at the beginning.
Arts are generated with AI support
This game use generative artificial intelligence to pre-rendered art for the game, This includes the game itself, the storepage, and any Steam community assets or marketing materials.
Artificial Intelligence has been used to generate the game's sprites, backgrounds and CGs.
In the game's background drawings, outputs of drawing samples from the Midjourney artificial intelligence were taken, and background drawings were produced by making corrections on those samples.
Development content uses AI for narrative elements (like audio). This is intended to be replaced prior to release.
The English synthetic voices have been developed using AI technology.
The original appearance of the art was recreated using AI and further refined by humans
Starting with the version 1.3 patch, AI tools were used to make minor translation updates to French, Spanish and German text in conjunction with a review by a professional.
It generate some in-game graphics.
The game's art assets and code content were all generated by AI.
Note: One UI sprite icon and one wall art in the game was created using AI.
Chinese uses live voice acting, while other countries use AI generated voice acting.
Artificial intelligence was used to speed up the process of drawing rough versions of characters and some backgrounds for illustrations. The initial images and subsequent processing were made by a human. All the final images have been reworked and modified by several artists.
All images, text, music, code, and other important parts of the game are created manually. We have used AI for some of the translation, as well as for creating some textures (for example - wall posters). The usage is minimal, and you probably won't notice it. This is done to speed up the development process. In the future, we may replace these assets if we deem it necessary.
We used generative AI to generate part of the 2D background art and manually corrected it.
In order to achieve better results, some characters, scenes, and animations in the game are generated using AI.
Some music and graphical elements (ie. music that plays during scenes, pictures that display during scenes, etc.) were edited and/or created using AI. These technologies are used sparsely throughout the game, and the entirety of Cryspace's story, characters, UI elements, etc. were not created using any AI technologies.
DeepL has been used as a tool for aiding the translations, AI has been used for image generation (a complete list can be found in-game), a single song is AI-generated song (can you spot it? ;) It has been exclusively added for the Steam release. In a recent update, we also added optional AI-background music for a part of the game.
The images in the game are collages and/or modified parts of images created by AI. Each image was processed and animated manually by a human. Parts of the images have been redrawn by humans.
Some cutscenes and the game title are AI-generated images.
AI image generation tools were used to create several posters, signs, and book illustrations.
Cover art.
The AI generates answers to your text inputs in real time.
We use some AI art for gameplay picture materials and backgrounds
Edwaldo creates a fake restaurant review early in the game. Said review was made by ChatGPT In addition, Grendel's motivational speech before the bank robbery (because she's lazy)
I added scenes and images improved with Generative Artificial Intelligence. They are locally generated using Stable diffusion, without resorting to paying any generative AI company. Although paying them could have given me better tools and results, I decided not to pay for their use to support the claim of artists for fair royalties. (It is not possible to discuss such a complex issue here, but I will consider opening a discussion on the topic in the game forum, follow my game to be notified if it is created) Most of the artistic content in the game, mainly music, is compensated in various ways depending on the case to its artists. My original content is registered, but the images generated by AI are essentially treated as 'creative commons' and I consider them fanarts of my characters. All added scenes and backgrounds are of high quality and maintain good coherence, avoiding deformities in hands, eyes, etc., and without annoying or confusing shapes. All AI-generated images are generated, selected, and edited exclusively by me, the creator of the game, to reflect my original vision, previously inaccessible due to high costs. I have sought to include only select content that enriches the narrative and immersion of the game.
During the development phase, some placeholder voices and vocal prototypes are generated using AI tools. These are used solely for iteration, testing, and internal production workflows. For the final release, all characters will be voiced by professional voice actors.

This game was initially developed without using Artificial Intelligence. Later, I added scenes and images improved with Generative Artificial Intelligence. The Art Director chose a composition for each background. They were then made by professional artists or, for a few, bought on Adobe Stock. Finally, the art director enhanced each background in Photoshop and also through LeonardoAI.
Some of the backgrounds are created using AI and manual refinement.
Due to the ambitious scope of the game, as well as our limited budget and manpower, generative AI has been integrated into our workflow to create pre-rendered "AI-assisted" assets. Character sprites (including facial expressions) are hand-drawn and colored, but enhanced using Stable Diffusion (img2img). Background images may be real photographs taken by hand, and/or AI-enhanced versions of real photographs (img2img). Voices are uniquely AI-generated by Eleven Labs. Proper inflection and tone are achieved by using an AI voice-changer to "wear" each voice and record lines individually. All of the above work is being done by the team lead, who is also responsible for the writing and programming, in order to bring his creative vision to life in a reasonable span of time. We appreciate your understanding, and hope you enjoy the game.
