Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Generated AI is used for some of the videos inserted in the middle of the game.
The use of AI in Battleline is minimal, including ChatGPT for weapon specifications and AI-assisted edits for game cover designs, all reviewed and refined for accuracy and originality.
The game uses some icons and visuals that were previously created with artificial intelligence (capsule image, etc...)
SUBDERMAL does not use generative AI during gameplay or while the game is running. No images, audio, text, dialogue, or gameplay content is generated dynamically via AI during play. All assets—including visuals, audio, writing, voice acting, and gameplay systems—are fully authored, fixed, and shipped as part of the final build. What AI Is Not Used For • No real-time AI text generation • No real-time AI image or video generation • No real-time AI voice synthesis • No adaptive AI narrative systems • No AI-based player interaction or chat What AI Was Used During Development Placeholder assets or ideas were assisted during development (concept art drafts, placeholder imagery, writing refinement), but all final in-game content is original, human-authored, and fully static except a small minority of AI-generated textures that appear on certain objects. This development-phase AI usage does not affect gameplay and does not generate new content for players. The game also contains textures which were upscaled using AI, but were originally human-authored. Guardrails Because the game does not include any generative systems during runtime, no special guardrails are required. Players cannot trigger or create AI-generated output of any kind.
The loading screens contain AI-generated background art. No in-game assets or characters are AI-generated.

Arts
On the marketing side we only use it visually, we don't use AI in the game
The Voice of NPC Was made with AI
AI is used to create more realistic and aesthetic images of situations described in the game, such as visual details of characters or visited locations, specifically in the creation of introductory or artistic menus for some characters.
Procedural post processing and content aware tools in Affinity photo were used to clean up capsule art, assets were sourced from in engine screenshots and painted over and then composited.
The game's store page images and library visuals were created using AI tools (e.g., StableDiffusion). These visuals were generated during the development process and are static assets, the same for all players. The game does not include any live-generated AI content. All in-game assets are pre-designed and do not involve dynamic AI generation based on player input.
AI-generated text for gameplay and marketing purposes.
This Game uses AI to generate the background in the cover image, and then altered to fit aesthetics.
Some AI-generated text or images may be used for marketing purposes. Gameplay does not contain any AI-generated content.
We created the store page materials (capsule image etc.) with AI.
1. The game's voice uses AI. 2. Pictures of cats, dogs and towers used AI.
As we are indie developers, we use some generative ai tools image generator or ai chatbots, to get birds eye view of how the game will look like, and to create a better plan for our game, then we created the content ourselves.
AI is used for all game translation and store page translation. The game is first written in our native language, then translated to all supported languages. If you find any mistranslation, contact us. Also, specific for the store page only: the female voice from the trailer (explaining the Anunnaki) was created using AI. Besides that, the team uses AI like any other human being: for helping with brainstorm, internal concept art, reference images (not used directly in the final product), summarizing documentation, and sometimes it helps us catch some bugs.
Only the character's space suit AI voice was made with generative AI.
Some images in game and on store page have been AI generated
I am a solo developer, so I used AI to generate character dialogue voices.
We used AI for the character voiceovers, but we'll have actors for the release! We also touched up our key illustration to fit the pixel aspect ratio.
Players’ use of AI in our game: In Hidden Bloodhunt, artificial intelligence is not used directly by players. All AI content is fully integrated into the game during development and is not modifiable or generable by the community. Tool-created assets used for certain aspects of the game (e.g. synthetic voices) have been carefully reviewed prior to release to ensure compliance with intellectual property laws and relevance to the gameplay experience. This means that players interact with fixed content only, with no ability to generate or use AI assets themselves.
AI has been used only to generate sounds.
Generative AI is used for some of the textures for the game. Environmental textures and movie posters.
Our game utilizes generative AI to create visually engaging content, including loading screens and promotional images. These AI-generated assets enhance the player experience by offering unique visuals, enriching both the in-game atmosphere and our marketing materials. The AI is used strictly for pre-rendered content and does not affect gameplay mechanics or live interactions.
I used AI images incredibly sparingly; I also modified the original AI image templates to get a desired outcome. The examples are -- the games text logo "Addled Clicker" was original AI before being edited heavily, a single image depicting a lovecraftian blob was used in one of the monster descriptions -- again, heavily edited, and finally in the in-game merchant, the background is a blurred lovecraftian manuscript that was AI generated as well.
HUMAN FREELANCE ARTISTS designed the locations and the characters' original looks. Proofs https://five-mysterious-murders.com/artwork/2.jpg https://five-mysterious-murders.com/artwork/1.jpg However, I enriched some artwork using AI to make the game look more diverse. Voice acting was done entirely by AI. I will replace everything made by AI as soon as I have a bit of money. If this doesn't work for you, please don't buy the game. Yours, Silencer
I use generative AI to create some of the artwork for the game. All generated artwork is cleaned and/or edited by me in Photoshop before publishing.
In-game text creation and translation: AI is used to create and translate text within the game as well as for the store page. Program code generation: AI is utilized to create and optimize program code for implementing game features and systems.

IA has been used for the creation of models.
Voiced dialogue may use a Unity Store Asset for AI generated voices as placeholder dialogue for alpha/beta testing of the game and/or demo player testing version. Final launched game will NOT contain any AI generated content.
I used AI to create the preview image.
We use generative AI for some textures, models, and pre-translation for multilingual support.
