Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Cellula was developed with the assistance of generative AI tools. The developer used AI to help write C++ code, generate 3D organelle models from text descriptions, and create UI button artwork. No AI-generated content appears in the final game without human modification, curation, and integration.
This project is itself a demonstration of how AI can democratize game development — allowing a single developer with domain expertise but limited programming experience to build something that previously required a full studio.
All game design, biological accuracy, educational content, and creative direction were provided by a human physician and educator.
Artificial Intelligence was used to help in the development of game code only. No art, sound, or other visual assets use or employed AI and were done by a real artist on the team.
This game utilizes generative artificial intelligence tools in its development to assist our small team. Specifically, AI was used to help localize our Steam store listing text into multiple languages to reach a broader audience. Additionally, AI tools were used to help refine and format certain store promotional images and icons, which are strictly based on and adapted from our original, human-created hand-drawn concept art. No live-generated AI content is used during active gameplay.
Imperium is a solo-developed game that makes extensive use of generative AI
to create its content:
• Visual art and graphical assets — planet surfaces, buildings, species and
ship artwork, interface art, and store/marketing imagery — were generated
using Midjourney and ChatGPT, then extensively edited, composited, and
refined by hand in Photoshop (including Photoshop's AI tools) to fit the
game's art direction.
• Music was generated using Suno.
• Sound effects were generated using ElevenLabs.
Every asset is reviewed, edited, and approved by the developer before it
ships, and the game's design, systems, and balance are the developer's own.
Imperium's in-game opponents use traditional algorithmic AI, not generative AI.
Generative AI tools were used to assist with drafting and editing store page text and marketing descriptions. All final content is reviewed and edited by the developer.
Generative AI was used to assist in refining and polishing a limited number of hand-drawn 2D pixel art assets, such as the main menu artwork and steam store capsule imagery. All assets are heavily based on original hand-drawn concepts.
Generative AI was used to assist in creating selected promotional artwork and logo/icon assets for the Steam store page. All outputs were reviewed, selected, and edited by the developer. Generative AI is not used during gameplay, and no content is generated live for players.
AI was used as an assistive tool for creating specific texture patterns, supporting code development, and producing videos for the game. All generated content was manually reviewed, edited, and refined by our team.
As a small independent game studio, we use AI to support our creative workflow. All final content was created and approved by our team.
All background music used in this game are pre-generated offline AI audio assets sourced from Pixabay (static files only, no real-time generation). All materials fully comply with Pixabay’s free commercial use license with no copyright infringement issues. Full download records of these assets are retained, and there is no mandatory requirement to disclose specific AI generation tools.
Localized texts and tutorial content of the game are created with the assistance of AI tools. All AI-generated content has been reviewed for compliance.
OUTWORKS was developed with the help of AI-based coding assistants, which we used to write parts of the game's source code. Everything you see and hear in the game is then generated procedurally by that code — all graphics are drawn in code (SVG/CSS) and all sound is synthesized in code (Web Audio). The game contains no AI-generated image or audio assets, and no generative AI runs while you play.
FLOWORKS was developed with the help of AI-based coding assistants, which we used to write parts of the game's source code. Hey everyone! I’m incredibly excited to finally bring this factory game to Steam.
To be completely transparent, a significant part of this game was crafted through what the cool kids call "Vibe Coding"—leveraging cutting-edge AI to help bring my logic, systems, and visions to life. While the AI helped lay down the bricks, the core factory mechanics, balancing, and gameplay design are all fueled by my own passion for automation.
Think of it as a factory game built by a developer who loves automation so much, they even automated parts of the development process! I hope you enjoy optimizing your factories as much as I enjoyed optimizing this code.
Some of the visual assets in Iron Ledger, including the game icon and splash/menu artwork, were created with the assistance of generative AI image tools. All AI-assisted assets were reviewed and curated by the developer. No AI-generated content is produced live during gameplay.
This project uses a mix of human-made and AI-assisted content. The majority of visual assets are human-made. Some 3D character models, item models, and textures were generated with the help of AI tools. All animation, audio, music, sound design, and writing are entirely human-made.
Some game assets and content were created with the assistance of generative AI tools during development. AI-assisted content was reviewed, curated, edited, and integrated into the final game by the developer. Generative AI is not used to create content during gameplay.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with coding, game design ideas, music, dialogue writing, and select texture assets. All content has been reviewed and approved by the developer.
LAST RITE TD uses generative AI tools during development to assist with creating and iterating some visual concepts, marketing artwork, store capsule images, trailer-related promotional materials, voice/audio elements, and certain worldbuilding or text-drafting support.
Some voice/audio elements may also be AI-assisted. All AI-assisted content is reviewed, selected, edited, and integrated by the developer before being used in the game or on the Steam store page.
The game does not use generative AI to create unpredictable real-time gameplay content for players during normal play.
This game currently uses AI-generated artwork for its Steam capsule images.
No AI-generated art is used anywhere in the game itself, including gameplay, environments, UI, or other in-game assets.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist in the creation of selected textures, 3D models, 2D graphics, and written text used in the game and on the Steam store page. All AI-assisted assets and text were manually reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer before release. The game does not use generative AI during gameplay and does not generate live content for players.
The work performed by artificial intelligence (AI)
in creating the game concerns only the music and images,
including store page and library images.
AI was used to create all the music in the game;
you can listen to some of it in the videos on the store page.
The videos use the game's music.
AI was also used as an image generator
during the game's development.
The resulting images were used for the background scenery and to
create textures and geometric shapes (the 3D shape is obtained from the image).
Almost all of the game's textures were created from AI generated images.
The three dimensional geometric models were created using a
group of traditional software; these software used AI generated images as their
"source data".
In practice, many 3D objects you see in the game, such as all the bees and
all the flowers, are a three dimensional reconstruction of objects
drawn over multiple images by AI.
The AI used is that provided by the major industries in the field.
All 3D modeling software is the intellectual property of the game's author.
Network Engineer leverages generative artificial intelligence to enhance gameplay immersion and realism. AI-driven systems dynamically simulate customer behavior, hardware issues, and environmental challenges, creating unique scenarios and ensuring no two playthroughs are alike. Your feedback will help refine these systems!
Some assets within the game are generated with the help of AI, this includes but is not limited to:
- Contracts (Company Names, Locations etc.)
- Hardware Names (For the networking device)
- Company Logos
Some visual assets used in the game were created with the help of generative AI. This includes certain service icons, such as Express Delivery, some NPC purchase icons, such as Cook and Burger Maker, and some burger ingredient images. These AI-generated visuals are used as in-game UI/store assets and item icons.
Various AI tools were utilized during the development of this game to increase efficiency. Character portraits and certain visual assets were pre-generated using AI, and then manually edited by the developer to fit the game's style. AI tools were also used in the creation of the game's music, sound effects, and localization (translation) processes. Additionally, AI was used as a coding assistant during the programming phase. All of this content was pre-generated during development; the game does not generate real-time AI content during gameplay, nor does it connect to any external AI services.
Some visual assets used in the game were created or refined with the assistance of generative AI tools. These assets include certain icons, UI elements, and promotional artwork. All AI-generated content has been reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer to ensure consistency with the game's artistic direction and quality standards. No real-time AI-generated content is used during gameplay.
Portions of in-game art assets were initially generated with generative AI, followed by extensive manual hand-drawn revision, restructuring and detailed painting by the developer. Game text and localization drafts were AI-assisted then fully proofread and revised manually. All background music and sound effects are licensed free commercial assets downloaded from authorized resource websites; no generative AI was used for audio production. Source code was written with coding assistant tools.

This game includes AI-assisted source assets for selected textures, environmental artwork, and portions of the soundtrack. All such materials were reviewed, substantially modified where needed, and manually integrated to fit the game's artistic direction. AI coding assistants were also used during development to improve productivity. Game design, programming, gameplay, balancing, and final creative decisions were performed by the developer.
Terra Concordia was created by the solo developer at NCB Company with extensive use of generative artificial intelligence tools throughout the development process.
Content created with AI assistance during development:
• The 142 game cards (buildings, technologies, wonders, events, objectives): names, descriptions, costs, effects, and art were conceived and adjusted with AI assistance, under review and final decision by the human developer.
• SVG vector art (cards, board, civilizations, store capsule arts, achievement icons, page banners): programmatically generated by scripts written with AI assistance.
• Game mechanics and rules: brainstorming, balancing, and iteration done with AI assistance, always validated manually across hundreds of internal playtests.
• The 6 solo-mode scenarios: themes, victory conditions, and difficulty designed with AI assistance, adjusted through playtesting.
• Website, store descriptions, manuals, and Civilopedia: drafted with AI assistance, reviewed by the developer.
• English and Spanish translations: pre-translated with AI, manually reviewed and polished.
• Solo-mode opponent (Automa) logic: the script was written with AI assistance, but it is a fixed deterministic algorithm with no machine learning components.
No content is generated by AI in real time during play. There are no images, texts, cards, or behaviors dynamically generated by AI while you play. The "Automa" (solo-mode AI opponent) is a script already embedded in the game code, executing pre-defined rules — without any alteration, generation, or learning during the match.
All AI-assisted content was reviewed, tested, and approved by the human developer before release.
