Public Steam disclosure research 25,383 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI tools were used during development to assist with coding and to create internal task, references and supporting documentation. The game does not include any player-facing generative AI features.
Some of this game's assets were made with the assistance of generative AI tools and were reviewed, curated and hand-finished by the developer. No content is generated while you play.
I used AI to help create player models
AI was used for localization, while being manually reviewed, and as a time-saving step in the development of some image and model assets, for retopology, concepting, and inbetweening. The game contains no unmodified AI outputs.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with portions of the game's code, hand-drawn-style visual elements, original music and audio, written text, and some store and community marketing materials. All included material was reviewed, selected, edited, and integrated by the developer. The game does not use generative AI during gameplay and does not connect to external AI services. Its randomized meadows are created through conventional procedural generation.
コーディングと一部のサウンドアセットと画像アセットに生成AIを活用しています。
no ai assets inside the game, just the store capsule
During development we may use procedural and AI-based tools to assist with sound effects creation. The final result is always chosen and edited by the developer.
Some raster artwork, interface and marketing artwork, sprite animation frames, and authored music were created with assistance from generative AI tools during development. All shipped output was artist-directed, reviewed, edited, and integrated specifically for Bunnyhop. No content is generated by AI while the game is running.
AI was used to enhance and adapt original images to widescreens.
The voice lines, non-English localization, and store art in Stellar Orbit are provided by generative AI tools.
The music, dialogues, and artworks were partially created using AI tools.
As a solo developer, I used AI-assisted tools to support development, including implementation and some audio-related work. All final content was reviewed and edited by me. Character sprite art is hand-drawn, and the game does not use generative AI while running.
Some music and sound in Perfectly Fair was created using AI tools (Suno AI, ElevenLabs) during development. All content is fixed in the final game; nothing is generated live during gameplay.
PUZIGO includes pre-generated AI content in the separate free Starter Pack DLC. The Starter Pack contains 40 AI-generated themed puzzle images across seven themes: abstract, animals, flowers, landscapes, painting-style, space, and steampunk. These images were generated during development, manually reviewed, curated, and included as fixed content. PUZIGO does not use AI to generate content during gameplay. The remaining five images in the Starter Pack are public-domain classical artworks. Images loaded through the optional Custom Image Unlock DLC are selected by the player, processed locally on the player's PC, and are not uploaded or generated by AI within PUZIGO. Some promotional and store artwork also contains pre-generated AI-assisted visual elements.
Generative AI was used to create some marketing assets, specifically the store capsule images and page banners. The core game content, including the code, levels, character pixel art, and music, has been traditionally developed to ensure a consistent and high-quality solo-developer experience.
Some BGs and the temporary world map use AI generated 2D content which is based on 3D asset packs. However, these assets are intended as temporary placeholders and in the polish process they are planned to be swapped with hand made ones.
Generative AI was used to assist with the localization of in-game text.
In game development, artificial intelligence is used solely as a supporting tool. We employ neural networks to enhance and refine 2D art (loading screens and promo banners) created using our in-game screenshots, after which they undergo manual color correction and artifact removal. AI also assists us with translating in-game text and generating the announcer's voice for racing modes. All key game elements, including 3D car models, tuning, and the open world, are created entirely by hand by our team.
Generative AI tools were used during development to create portions of the game’s artwork, sound and localization. Each AI-assisted asset was reviewed, edited, palette-matched, and curated by the developer.
Rockinforged is a studio that develops games with an AI-assisted production pipeline. Generative AI tools are used across development — including 2D art, cinematic and video footage, sound, localization, store page text, and marketing materials — always under the developer's direct authorship, curation, and review. The game does not generate any content with AI at runtime.
AI generation used for trial names that are shown at the start of trials and for player/NPC avatars.
AI tools were used for the translations, and the store page artwork. All screenshots show real gameplay.
Pre-generated AI was used to assist in the creation of promotional artwork and Steam store assets. No live-generated AI content is used during gameplay. Players do not interact with AI-generated systems while playing the game.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with some pre-generated visual assets and store marketing images. These assets are fixed in advance and are not generated during gameplay. The released game does not call an external generative AI service and does not generate text, images, audio, code, or other content at runtime.
Generative AI was occasionally used to prototype assets and give ideas\reference for assets. It was also occasionally used to generate normal maps on textures I had created. Sometimes this had disastrous results.
Some graphical elements of the user interface (menus, icons, and buttons), as well as store page assets (capsule images, header, and screenshots containing generated elements), were created with the assistance of generative AI tools and manually reviewed and edited by the developer
Generative AI used for game box art, 3d modelling and vibe coding assistance.
Some in-game and marketing images were generated with AI.
Pre-generated generative AI was used during development for selected static artwork and portions of player-facing writing and localization. All such content is fixed in the shipped build and was reviewed and edited during development. The game does not contact an AI service or generate content during play.
Wizard Disaster was made by a solo developer, using generative AI tools as part of the production pipeline. Art. Character, boss and background artwork, and the source frames the animations are built from, were produced with generative image and video tools. Everything was then cut, keyed, aligned, retimed and composited by hand into the sheets the game actually plays. The generated output is the raw material, not the finished asset. Concept passes were made the same way. Audio. The music and most of the sound effects were generated with Suno, then trimmed, pitched, levelled and fitted to the length of the action each one accompanies. Not all of the audio is generated: a number of the effects are synthesised procedurally in code from a 1930s orchestra-pit palette, and the wizard's own voice (his cries and shouts) are human recordings. Code. Generative AI was used as a programming assistant during development, and to build and run the automated test harnesses that measure boss pacing, damage output and medal times. Those harnesses are development-only tooling and are not part of the shipped game. The game contains no live-generated AI content. Nothing is generated while you play, and the game makes no network or AI service calls at runtime.
Crownsink is a hand-crafted game built the modern way: the developer writes and directs the code with the support of AI tools, while every sprite, sound and note of music springs from the game's own hand-written algorithms.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with programming and code generation, and to create or refine certain pre-generated visual assets, including promotional artwork and selected in-game UI and art assets. All AI-assisted code and assets were reviewed, tested, and edited by the developer before inclusion. The released game does not generate content or code during gameplay and does not connect to external AI services.
Some 2D art was made with generative AI as a starting point, cards are renders of our real 3D models with painted backgrounds. No in-game AI, no AI voices, no real people's likenesses. Art may be replaced during Early Access.
Pre-generated AI was used for store text and five original rank-emblem images (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond, and Grand Racc) shown in the ranked hub and marketing. The emblems were made from our own prompts with OpenAI Codex ImageGen, reviewed and processed by us, and use no third-party source art. The game generates no AI content during play.
AI was used to generate code, art prototypes which were then handcrafted in Aseprite, CSS for UIs, and tedious copy stuffed in nooks and crannies to fill out the world.
AI tool assisted in translating the store page into 15 different languages. We do NOT use AI-generated art, and we never intentionally include AI assets in our game. We sometimes buy assets and use stock photos. We do our best to verify them, but nowadays, distinguishing AI from human-made art can be hard. That said, if there is any specific artwork that you believe looks like AI or raises concerns, we would appreciate it if you could point it out on our Discord server. We will investigate and replace anything that might have slipped through. AI-generated art is NOT something we want to include in our game.
Portions of this game's content were created with generative AI assistance under human direction and review: in-game text (social feed posts, event copy), localization into 8 languages, and marketing materials including the trailer. All AI-assisted content was reviewed by the developer. The game does not generate AI content at runtime.
Artwork, capsules for steam and some game UI screens background image in Options, Main Menu, Craft, Inventory
All primary artwork in this game, including the main character and every enemy, was created by hand either drawn by the developer or by human artists. AI assistance was limited to a few secondary visual effects (light effects, explosions, blood/spray), produced with custom procedural drawing scripts written with the help of an AI coding assistant and then hand-edited and curated by the developer. Some in-game text translations may be pre-generated with AI-assisted localization and reviewed by the developer. No image, audio, or video generation models were used. No AI is used at runtime.
As an independent developer/publisher, AI-assisted tools have been used selectively to support presentation and marketing workflows, not to replace the game’s creative direction or development. The game itself is designed, directed, developed, coded, and assembled by human creators. Core gameplay systems, level design, story direction, implementation, and development decisions are not generated by AI.
Yeah, I used some AI music. Big woop wanna fight about it? All other in-game assets are made by hoomans much more talented than myself. Images on the store page are also currently AI generated placeholders. These will be replaced during Early Access with art by people.
"AI tools (LLMs and image generators) were used to assist in writing/optimizing C# scripts and generating minor 2D visual assets (e.g., UI or achievement icons). All AI-assisted content was strictly reviewed, modified, and integrated manually by the developer."
Some marketing materials for this game were made with generative AI: the trailer's narration uses an AI text-to-speech voice, and parts of this store page were drafted with AI assistance. Nothing inside the game is AI-generated. The soundtrack is human-composed music licensed for commercial use, all artwork and logos are drawn programmatically by the game's own code, and every screenshot is captured from real gameplay. The game generates no AI content while you play.
This whole game exists because I wondered whether, with these tools, I could actually make one. Generative AI tools were used to create assets that ship with the game. The 3D ship and enemy models were generated with Meshy AI from my own 2D concept art, and AI tools assisted with in-game text, audio, and parts of the store page and marketing materials. The design, code and balance are mine — the wave generation, the ship and weapon tuning, the modification link-set system, the campaign structure. Seventeen worlds' worth of hand-tuned numbers. I'm a solo developer with a full-time job and three kids. The answer to the question turned out to be yes, and this is it.
This game uses generative AI in the creation of some graphics, text, and English localization. All AI-generated content has been reviewed and edited by the developer before being used. No generative AI content is created during gameplay.
AI helped with some writing, troubleshooting, localization, and the Steam store page. All art, animation, music, sound effects, and level design were created entirely by me. I reviewed and edited everything AI assisted with, and several translations were also checked by native speakers. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay and does not connect to any external AI services.
Nexus Ascendant contains pre-generated content created with the assistance of generative AI tools during development. This includes portions of the character and environment artwork, animated visual assets, user-interface graphics, gameplay textures, narrative writing, Japanese voice audio, and marketing materials. All AI-assisted content was selected, edited, reviewed, and integrated by the developer before inclusion. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay or transmit player data to generative AI services.
AI tools were used to assist with some of the game’s translations and in the creation of two in-game textures. These textures were subsequently edited, refined, and carefully reviewed by a human before being included in the final game. We strictly rely on human creativity and craftsmanship throughout the game’s development.
AI-generated content in Pin a Million: - Music: All in-game music tracks were created using generative AI (Suno). - Icons: The icon artwork on Peg and Perk cards was generated using AI tools. All on-board gameplay effects, animations, and visuals are hand-coded and rendered procedurally at runtime (no AI-generated content).
