Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Core Planning: The game’s worldbuilding, storyline, gameplay logic, and numerical balancing are 100% original and written by me.
Programming: I designed the code architecture and utilized AI for coding assistance and optimization.
Visual Arts: A small portion of assets were initially designed using AI and then manually refined and revised by me.
Localization: Localization for languages other than Chinese was supported by AI translation.
AI-generated tools were used to assist in the creation of certain promotional artwork displayed on the Steam store page. No AI-generated content is used within the gameplay, story, audio, or interactive elements of the game.
AI is used in order to create a better background and focus on the core parts of the game, we use AI to help create some background art and minor NPCs in the story.
After the AI generates these images, our artists still need to refine them to ensure that the style of the background and minor NPCs matches the environment, UI, and main characters drawn by our talented artists.
Hello guys I am updating the storepage and letting you know I used AI to help me with the STOREPAGE capsules... as well as use it as research to improve m coding skills!
Generative AI tools were used during development as a coding assistant. They helped identify issues, suggest improvements, and speed up implementation. All ideas, designs, and gameplay concepts were created by the developer prior to coding. Generative AI was used in the creation of some art assets.
AI tools were used during development for coding assistance (Kiro AI). Store artwork and marketing images were created using Leonardo.ai. Achievement icons were created using PixelLab. No AI content is generated during gameplay - all in-game assets are static and pre-made.
This product uses generative artificial intelligence as a development support tool.
Generative AI was used to assist with:
early concept ideation (including visual concepts and reference images)
draft text and descriptions
sound effects and music creation
Main Logo
Application icon
Start Menu artwork
Some UI visual elements
Text icons
Location background artwork
Some location visual elements (characters and interactive objects)
Some player equipment visuals
Some enemy character visuals
Dialog text
For the development of Great Library, generative AI tools were used to assist in the creation of static visual assets, including environmental textures, character concept art, and store page promotional imagery. All AI-assisted content has been manually reviewed, refined, and integrated by our development team to ensure quality and consistency. There is no live-generated AI content, code, or real-time generation used during gameplay.
AI was only used to enhance images we already had, giving them a look more in line with the game style. Its use was limited solely to images for the store page and game icons.
AI was used to translate the game into French, Spanish and Brazil Portuguese.
Friends speaking these languages checked for accuracy but I will adjust any translation errors, when the community let me know about them!
The store page text was drafted and refined with the assistance of generative AI, with all content being ultimately reviewed and approved by our team to ensure quality and clarity.
AI was only used to enhance images we already had, giving them a look more in line with the game’s retro ’80s theme. Its use was limited solely to images for the store page and game icons.
I used AI helped me to design the main character; however, the final looking is vastly different then the AI generated. I also plan to use Ai to generate background music for my game.
Several placeholder 2D art pieces are generated using Stable Diffusion. In the Early Access version these are marked with the word "Placeholder" in the bottom right corner of the image and will be replaced by artist drawings during the Early Access process.
The original version of this game was created in Japanese. Translations into other languages were initially drafted with AI assistance, then carefully revised by hand for clarity and natural flow.
Generative AI was used to assist in the creation of the current store page capsule art and backgrounds. These images are intended as placeholders / proof of concept and will be replaced with hand-crafted assets as development continues and before release. AI was also used for coding assistance and bug-fixing during development.
Generative AI tools were used during development for early prototyping only. No AI-generated content ships in the game or is consumed by players, and no content is generated at runtime.
AI assisted tools were used during development to help create some assets, all of which were reviewed and finalized by the developer. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay, and players cannot input prompts or create AI-generated material.
I am a solo indie developer with limited time and funds. I use AI art to help in places where my personal pixel art skills are lacking. Many/most all of these pieces get hand cleaned up by me to ensure overall aesthetics, feel, and theme are maintained.
Specific usages of AI Art:
Character/Armor Art - (The characters are the focal pieces of the game. I wanted them clean with the gritty overtones and proper shading. My art is not there yet)
Location Backgrounds - (The floor the character is seen walking on is largely created by AI with touch ups to ensure proper parallax looping)
The pixel art hands in the game's logo/title images - (I'm terrible with pixel art hands... something about the shading)
As a small team of 2, we used A.I. to generate references and some base materials. Every final asset was either created from scratch or extensively modified, painted over, and artistically reworked by us. We took all creative decisions.
This game uses AI-assisted tools during development
for tasks such as text drafting and iteration support.
All gameplay systems, content design, and final assets
are created and curated by the developer.
AI is not used for real-time gameplay decision-making.
No image in this game is used exactly as produced by an AI without human editing; all images have been modified, reworked, or supplemented manually. The in-game texts and the store page description were partially written with the help of AI tools, then proofread and corrected by a human.
This game features an optional AI integration known as "The Oracle," which utilizes generative text technology to provide dynamic narrative commentary and sarcastic tactical analysis based on your real-time gameplay actions. This feature is powered by the Gemini API and operates on a "Bring Your Own Key" (BYOK) architecture, meaning users must provide their own personal API Key to enable this specific functionality. The AI generation is strictly cosmetic, text-based, and completely optional, ensuring that the core gameplay experience, mechanics, and balance remain fully intact and enjoyable whether or not the feature is active.
The only use of AI in this game is for generating character voice lines. No gameplay elements, visuals, or other content are AI-generated. The AI voices may be replaced with human voice actors in future updates.
I want to be fully transparent with you. Some of the visual assets in this game were created with the help of generative AI tools. However, AI was used strictly as a tool, not as a replacement for creativity or craftsmanship.
No image generated by AI was used “as is.” Every asset went through heavy manual modification, repainting, redesigning, compositional changes, color correction, detailing, and integration into the game’s visual language.
I spent hundreds of hours in GIMP reworking compositions, adjusting lighting and color palettes, redrawing shapes and much more.
The final result you see in the game is the outcome of extensive manual work and artistic decisions. I'm not an artist at all, and AI simply helped accelerate early-stage iteration. Without this help the game could not exist.
The game’s design, mechanics, balance, progression systems, and overall vision are entirely human-made.
Thank you for supporting indie development.
AI tools were used during development to assist with post-processing of store page images and internal concept art.
Images used on the store page originate from the game itself, with AI tools used to help improve sharpness, clarity, and to adapt images to required dimensions.
All AI-assisted images were manually reviewed and selected by the developer.
No AI-generated content is used during gameplay, and no AI is used to dynamically generate visuals, dialogue, audio, or other content while the game is running.
