Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.

Some raw parts of the UI and capsule image generated by AI.
This game makes limited use of generative AI tools. Some images and user interface elements were created with the assistance of AI during development.
We use AI to let our robots express themselves! If a robot became alive, it wouldn’t come pre-programmed with the perfect way to express its thoughts or emotions — it would have to figure it out along the way. That’s why the hero robots in Endless Machines use AI to give voice to their thoughts and feelings. What they say isn’t always polished or logical. It's quirky, weird, funny, and sometimes unexpectedly touching. It’s not a scripted, perfect dialogue. It’s more like a robot trying to make sense of the world — and itself — in real time. This approach makes their personalities dynamic and unpredictable. For us, that’s what makes AI-driven dialogue a perfect fit for the game: It’s about learning, exploring, and growing — just like the robots themselves. Under the hood, the game runs a small language model that has been custom fine-tuned for each robot's personality. It is instructed to speak through prompt engineering, ensuring the robot stays in character and relates to the game's lore. The model does not require online access. We chose to use SmolLM because we were looking for a language model where the training background, technical setup, and use of data are transparent (open source and based on publicly available texts), and where the model can be run locally. We use this locally hosted language model (LLM) to generate text content during gameplay. What the robots say in the game is defined and moderated by us. We have written a set of foundational texts that form the basis for each robot’s personality, tone, and way of expressing itself. From that foundation, they “build” further and develop over time. Endless Machines does not and cannot collect any data from the person playing the game. All outputs are guided by custom prompt engineering, custom fine-tuning, and are controlled by local code at runtime to ensure appropriate content. More details on the model architecture and dataset can be found here: 🔗 https://huggingface.co/datasets/HuggingFaceTB/smoltalk
1.We used the scenery and base images of the game background generated by AI, and based on these, we modified and created the background of the game scenes. 2.We used the concept images and dynamic elements of the images generated by AI for the production of game videos and promotional videos.

Some assets in this game, including parts of the code and dialogue, were enhanced with AI assistance.
AI was used for texture generation and game code optimization.
AI technology was used to create some scene and character concept art
Yes, some of the visuals (backgrounds) in our game are prepared with AI. Other than that, the remaining cards, buttons and environmental elements are assets we prepared ourselves.
Use in-game image illustrations generated using AI
The header capsule, library header, and loading screen use AI generated images
AI was used to generate the game's logo.
AI was used to help create a portion of the art for the game that is difficult and time consuming starting from nothing. This art is of some of the characters and objects in the game that had their rough form generated using google Gemini. All of the AI images generated were modified to match my game's world, and were made to be distinct and original from any other creative works. for example, one of the characters has an image of a beetle shell placed over his face among other artistic design changes to the original AI generated body.
AI generated images used in a satirical context.
I'm using AI to generate the store capsule image, running the AI locally on my PC. The image does not violate any copyrights and accurately represents content from my game.
only marketing banners/ posters
Character Voices are AI Generated
AI technology will be used to assist in creating visual content for store pages, marketing materials, and some in-game 2D assets.
We are a small team of designers and we use AI technologies for music and texture images so that the players can enjoy more from the final game.

You play against advanced AI that learns from your every move. Expect the enemy to see where you are walking and find a shortcut to catch you, and if they see you trying to hide in a closet while running from the enemy, they will pull you out of the closet.

Some art pictures, character models, animations, and story scripts may be created by AI after generating prototypes
Some promotional artwork and visuals in Zombie Pandemia 2D were crafted using AI-assisted tools. These include images of real-life styled characters and zombies designed to enhance the immersive storytelling and atmosphere. All in-game content, such as characters, environments, and gameplay elements, has been manually created to deliver an authentic experience tailored for our players. The use of AI tools was focused solely on marketing assets to bring you a glimpse of the post-apocalyptic world of Zombie Pandemia 2D.
Voiceovers(text‑to‑speech), some translations and some musics were generated using AI tools.
AI has been used to help develop the game's cover art.
Music, sound fx, voices and textures.
In our game 201: The Bad Number, part of the images, music, and translations were created using generative artificial intelligence.
I'm using AI to generate images for the Store page and the illustration of the main menu.
Some use of AI to generate background music, text or other artwork that is then heavily edited and vetted and appears in the game seamlessly with the large amount of hand-made artwork, to help fill gaps in a small low-budget production and enhance the overall experience.
Upscaling was done in a mixed process of AI upscaling with Upscayl and manual work with Affinity Designer/Photo, GIMP and Aseprite. Some backgrounds were extended on the sides for widescreen using AI tools like krea.ai, and then manually reworked with Affinity Designer/Photo, GIMP and Aseprite.
In the early stage of game design, AI tools are used to generate the first draft of the picture (such as scene composition, character outline, etc.), which is only used for internal creative reference. All the pictures used in the later stage are hand-painted by professional painters. In the end, there is no visual material generated by AI in the game.
AI has been used to help develop the game's cover art.
Artificial Intelligence assisted in creation of character cards and shard assets. Character music themes were generated by AI
This game features AI-generated NPC voice lines and AI-generated store artwork.
I created the original sound tracks of Mad Miner 2 with artificial intelligence.
Some images in the game were partly created using artificial intelligence, being creatively adjusted to match the concept of the game.
