Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Card item ICONS in the game are generated by ai
The character illustrations, icons, weapon illustrations, and other UI materials displayed in the game are generated in advance by AI and are used in the game after being manually edited.
some pictures and charaters are made by AI.
This was only used to create the game trailer.
The game's intro video and ingame backgrounds were first created with 3D renders and then styled using Stable Diffusion. However, no images were created from scratch with ai. The resulting visuals were then cleaned up and refined using PixageFX and a pixel art editor. Additionally, a large portion of the character voiceovers were done using 'murf.ai' except 'Mike Jack'.
We utilize generative AI tools during the development process to enhance the overall quality and depth of the game's world. Specifically: Character Models: The mesh for the game’s final boss was created using AI-assisted generation tools, then manually refined to ensure high-quality technical standards. Localization: AI tools are used to assist in translating game text into multiple languages, which are then manually reviewed and polished for accuracy. Marketing Materials: Some promotional assets and store page visuals may include elements enhanced by AI to better represent the game's tactical vision.
Our team uses AI to generate voice acted characters and to translate all localizations into every supported language.
We only use parts of AI-generated voice-overs – the voice samples come from recordings of our developers working on the game.
The voiceovers for the dialogue were produced with pre-rendered text-to-speech AI.
Wacky West had some AI art placeholders that were since replaced with hand made assets.
Use of AI for Artistic Elements: In Z Ops: Deadzone, we use artificial intelligence to generate certain artistic assets, including characters, environments, and icons. AI allows us to explore a wide variety of visual styles and create graphical elements more efficiently. Each AI-generated asset is carefully refined to ensure it aligns with the overall art direction of the game and integrates seamlessly into the game’s universe. This approach helps speed up the creative process while maintaining a consistent and immersive quality.

d-id was used to generate the game's cutcine videos.
The original appearance of the art was recreated using AI and further refined by humans
We used AI to create the game icon and background image for the main page. Also, we took inspiration from AI for some texts and dialogues.
There was AI image generation used for creating bases for some environment textures, those bases were heavily modified by hand to fit the game from the original texture spit out by AI.
We have used AI-generated content for player-selectable BGM and cover images in the game lobby, as well as voice-overs. Among these, all voice-overs have been completely replaced with professional voice actors' recordings in time for the Early Access release. We are currently conducting an internal investigation regarding unconfirmed content, and all confirmed AI-generated assets will be replaced with human-created assets by the official 1.0 release.
We reaffirm our respect for human artists and their work. Due to current technical limitations, we employed AI image generator during development and apologize to players for any concerns this may cause. AI tools such as Doubao, Gemini, and Stable Diffusion were used solely as references to visualize concepts and inform the creation of game content. All in-game AI assets have been substantially transformed — through redesign, editing, fusion, animation, recoloring, and pixelation in professional digital art tools — to produce original assets consistent with the game’s visual style. We do not use or reproduce AI-generated content created by third parties. All applicable copyright and licensing terms were reviewed to ensure lawful commercial use.
During development we use AI assistance in certain tasks, such as upscaling in-game assets to higher detail versions. An example would be creating higher detail 2D UI portraits for NPCs in their in-game environment from the in-game art. All original artwork and the final creative vision come from our development team. The game has optional computer generated voice overs.

Just used AI to help draft my answers, then I review them to make sure they are appropriate for what it is drafting answers for on the storepage. I have also used AI to help me build some functions in the game for determining the calculations for player stats such as temperature and stomach system.
