Public Steam disclosure research 25,383 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
We have used Generative AI for coding assisted task and development of some of the features. Assets are all untouched by AI.
Some of the content in SacriForge was created with the help of generative AI tools during development, including 2D art and illustrations, music, sound effects, and text. All AI-assisted content was reviewed and edited by the developer.
The entirety of the game from the code to the art to the music WAS GENERATED WITH AI. This is not a disguise, I do not know how to build an entire game from scratch by myself. The story, characters, and concept art was created entirely by me and partly with my best friend Xavier, but everything in game is made using AI.
Some visual assets and references in the game were created or assisted with generative AI tools, then manually reviewed, edited, and implemented by the developer. The game does not use generative AI during gameplay and does not generate dynamic AI content for players.
Generative AI was used to assist in creating certain promotional art assets, including the Steam achievement icons and Steam store thumbnails. All gameplay, code, and core game content were created by the developer.
This game uses generative artificial intelligence as a supporting tool for the creation of some visual and graphic assets, such as the game icon, logo, promotional images, main menu artwork, buttons, and certain visual or typography styles used within the game. All AI-generated or AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, and manually selected by the developer before being included in the game. Generative AI is not used during gameplay to create real-time content or to dynamically modify the player experience.
We are using AI art assets in places where our Art has not caught up to the current game progress. We are continuing to produce art to replace the AI assets.
Some in-game art assets were created or assisted using generative AI tools, then reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer. AI tools were also used as development assistance for parts of the code. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay.
Severwood uses generative AI as part of its development. Many visual assets — including character art, backgrounds, and card illustrations — were created with the assistance of AI image-generation tools, then selected, edited, and assembled by the developer to fit the game's art direction. Some code was written with AI assistance, directed and reviewed by the developer. Game design, writing, planning, and systems are created and directed by the human developer. No AI-generated content is produced live during gameplay; all assets are fixed and were finalized during development.
This game uses pre-generated generative AI content to assist with select 2D artwork, UI elements, and/or marketing materials. This content was reviewed and, where necessary, edited by the developer. No content is generated live by AI during gameplay.
AI-assisted tools were used during development to help create and refine some visual assets, sound effects, and music used in the game. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, selected, and edited by the development team before being included in the final game.
Chrome Circuit is developed by a solo developer who uses generative AI as part of the production pipeline. Character and environment sprite art was created using AI image generation, then processed, edited, and integrated by hand. Portions of the game's code were written with AI assistance under the developer's direction, with all systems designed, reviewed, and tested by the developer. All AI-generated content is created during development ("pre-generated") — the game does not generate any content while you play, and no AI runs on your machine. Game design, writing, and all creative decisions are the work of the developer.
Some 2D art (sprites, icons, key art) was generated with a locally run image model, then hand-curated and edited by the developer. Sound effects and music were generated with local audio models and hand-picked. Everything shipped was reviewed by a human; the game performs no AI generation at runtime.
This project includes limited use of AI generated content. AI tools were used to create certain background imagery and placeholder visual assets during development. Additionally, AI-assisted tools were utilized in a supplementary capacity during parts of the coding process to support development efficiency. All AI-generated content has been reviewed, modified, and integrated by the developer to ensure it aligns with the project’s overall quality and artistic direction.
Some of this game's assets were created with the assistance of generative AI tools, then curated, edited, and integrated by the developer. This includes art assets such as character portraits, location backgrounds, and promotional artwork, as well as sound. The game's code was written with AI coding tools under the developer's direction. The game's design, systems, writing, and creative direction are human-authored and directed.
AI is used during our early Alpha development phase to create temporary placeholder art. The intent is to replace once the core game loop as been satisfied.
This game uses AI-assisted tools during development to help create and iterate on some visual assets, such as concept art, UI background images, icons, effects references, and promotional artwork. The generated material is reviewed and edited by the developer before it is included in the game or store page. AI is not used during gameplay to generate player-facing text, images, audio, music, voice, 3D models, code, story choices, or gameplay decisions.
Some non-gameplay assets in this game (backgrounds, environment and concept art) were created using AI-assisted workflows, specifically: Runecraft AI (in-house workflow), Higgsfield and Pixellabs (select assets). The game's music is produced through studio recordings with live-played instruments; Suno is used supplementarily for optimizations and atmospheric additions. The majority of all game content (characters, sprites and core assets) is hand-crafted; AI is a supplementary tool in the production process. The shipped game does not generate any content at runtime via AI.
Some visual assets used in VoidFall, including promotional artwork and store materials, were created with the assistance of generative AI tools and further edited and integrated during development.
Some skill icons were made or altered with AI.
This game contains generative AI content. Some visual/visual arts materials were assisted by generative AI tools during development and were manually selected, edited, and reviewed by the development team before being used in the game or Steam store page. The game features optional real-time AI chat and voice interaction functions. Players can interact with in-game pets through text or voice input, and the backend AI generates text responses based on player input, current game state, and context. Some responses may be delivered via voice. We employ input filtering, output filtering, safety prompts, rate limiting, and abuse detection to minimize the generation of illegal, infringing, explicit, hateful, harassing, or otherwise inappropriate content.
Some of the artwork/Images were Ai Enhanced to make the images clearer. The localization(languages) was done by Ai.
This game uses AI assistance as a support tool for efficient development. Scope of AI Use - Assistance with programming and code implementation - Drafting and style adjustment for English localization - Drafting and editing of some in-game text, including Observation Records in the Anomaly Codex, command reaction text, countermeasure procedures, and other text related to gameplay explanations and strategy - Drafting, editing, and proofreading of general text such as social media announcements, descriptions, and notices Scope Where AI Is Not Used Character images, Anomaly images, background images, Steam capsule images, audio, and BGM are created by the developer or use licensed distributed assets. No AI-generated assets are used for these materials. Content Created and Managed by the Developer The story, worldbuilding, characters, basic Anomaly concepts, and the folklore and supplementary materials related to the Anomalies are independently created by the developer. Game design and various specifications are also determined by the developer. For any content created with AI assistance, the final decision on whether to use the text, as well as quality control, is handled by the developer.
AI has been used to generate SFX files. If you know a real human that is willing to make these, let me know!
Generative AI was used only to assist with localization/translation partially. All localized text was reviewed and edited before release. No AI-generated content was used otherwise.
AI helped code this game and helped with creating early pre-release marketing/storefront materials
Generative AI was used during the development of this game to speed up the coding process and to create some 2D visual designs. No other AI tools were used in the creation of the game.
Certain in-game images were generated using generative AI. Some sound effects were created using generative AI.
GenderShift uses generative AI in two ways: 1. Live audio: AI converts your speech or text into the voice you select 2. Voice portraits and sample audio (in the app, trailer, and screenshots) were pre-created with generative AI. You can also generate these yourself in the app.
AI-generated art objects
The pre-rendered cinematics and/or voiceovers may include AI-generated or AI-enhanced content.
This game is a solo-developed project. Generative AI tools were used as part of the production workflow, including assistance with code and base visual assets. No generative AI output is used as a final in-game asset – all assets were manually edited and finalized by the developer. All gameplay design, creative direction, balancing, and content decisions were made by the developer.
Some music, sound effects, and UI icons in Riftslayer were created with the assistance of generative AI tools during development. All AI-assisted content was reviewed and selected by the developer before being included in the game.
Some visual assets used during the development of **Hordes of War** were created or enhanced with the assistance of generative artificial intelligence. These assets include certain promotional artwork, concept art, and placeholder images used during development. All gameplay systems, game design, world-building, maps, mechanics, balance, programming, and the final implementation of in-game content have been created, reviewed, and curated by the development team. Any AI-assisted content is carefully edited and integrated to ensure it meets the artistic style and quality standards of the game.
The in-game music was created through a collaboration between human composition and AI-assisted tools. Some promotional images displayed on the Steam Store page were also created using AI-assisted tools.
Some of this game's art, including certain item icons, UI elements, and the store/library and promotional images was created with the help of generative AI tools. Some background music was generated with AI and edited by the developer. All AI-generated content was reviewed by the developer for quality and to ensure it doesn't infringe third-party rights. No AI content is generated live during gameplay.
Pre-generated AI tools were used to create some visual assets and promotional artwork, including UI concepts, store page artwork, icons, and environmental illustrations. These assets are reviewed and curated by the developer before inclusion. The game does not use live-generated AI content during gameplay.
AI tools were used as supportive tools during the development process, including assistance with code, visual assets, and music. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, and integrated by our development team before being included in the game.
AI was used to generate code, art, music and text.
This product only uses generative AI for background scenery. These asset's visibility can simply be hidden via main menu toggle
AI was used for partial asset generation and game development.
Some of the meshes are generated with AI (its just for pre- alpha), in the final build all AI generated meshes and things will get replaced with handmade stuffs...
Some visual assets and visual reference material used during development were created with the assistance of generative AI tools. All final assets are reviewed, edited, and curated by me before use. I use these tools to support and enhance my own ideas and designs, not to replace the creative process.
This game uses generative AI during development to assist in creating and refining certain content, including artwork, text, dialogue, and other game assets. All AI-generated content has been reviewed, edited, and approved by the development team before being included in the game. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay.
Generative artificial intelligence was used in capsule arts.
In addition to simple materials, textures, and music, artificial intelligence was used entirely for both in-game and store page translations.
Feierabend Poker is developed by a solo creator with the help of AI tools. The story and character dialogue are written with AI assistance and then reviewed and edited by the developer. The game's visuals are 2D vector graphics drawn directly in code rather than produced by image generators, and all sound is created procedurally in code. No AI generates content live while you play.
Good, honest call — AI-generated art means you disclose it, and Steam shows this text publicly on your page. Here's a clean, accurate disclosure message: Some of the visual assets in this game (such as card artwork and illustrations) were created with the assistance of generative AI tools. All AI-generated content was reviewed and curated by the developer. The game's design, code, and gameplay are human-authored.
100% human made code, art, design, and audio! AI assistance was only used for a tiny fraction of the text localizations to fill small gaps in our community made translations and for translating the Steam store page descriptions to non English languages.
AI was used as a creative tool for: Generating and refining background art (later curated by our artists) Creating early atmospheric textures for the soundtrack (finished by human composers) All AI-generated content was reviewed, edited, and finalized by the team to ensure quality and consistency.
