Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Sands of Avalon uses AI exclusively to give the gods unique personalities and dynamic voice lines. Each god reacts differently to the player’s choices, offering distinct blessings, curses, and dialogue that make every playthrough feel personal and immersive. No gameplay mechanics rely on AI and it is used only to enrich storytelling and deepen the connection between players and the divine beings in the game.
I'm mostly doing this by myself and I have used AI to generate specific images related to The 5th Realm as described by myself and my game design documents. I have also given samples of documents generated by myself (like my game design document) to AI to enhance needed descriptions. These are for the initial "coming soon" store page. Except for when (and if) I get funding to complete The 5th Realm, there will be little to no AI used in generating content for the game. At this point all other documents and content are completely original. If needed, it is highly possible that in the future during further development I may ask AI for help in generating or correcting certain specific code or blueprints that I cannot do for myself. Ideally, I will pay a coder for this. In short, The 5th Realm is an all original idea and genre from my own mind that I have been working on since before the advent of AI.
AI helped me a lot when moving from GML to C#. The music in the Early Access version is also AI generated this is just a free-time hobby project and I mainly needed some semi ambient tracks to set the mood. Later on, I plan to purchase proper human made tracks before the full release. Towards the end of development I also used an AI plugin for Aseprite to speed up animating some of my own hand drawn sprites, but the very vast majority of the graphics was made by me, handcrafted, pixel by pixel.
This game uses artificial intelligence only to create static character portraits during dialogues. All gameplay, animations, mechanics, and other elements were developed traditionally. AI was used as an artistic tool to give style and personality to the characters in their conversations.
We used generative-AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT/OpenAI image generation and PlaygroundAI) to create some pre-rendered 2D art such as backgrounds, character illustrations, and other ingame asset images. No live AI or code generation occurs during gameplay, and players do not provide prompts. All outputs were human reviewed and edited, and created under licenses permitting commercial use; we avoid copyrighted characters and real-person likenesses.
In the development of [Your Game Title], we have incorporated artificial intelligence tools to enhance certain creative aspects of the project, while maintaining our core vision and quality standards throughout the development process.Game Background Music: The original soundtrack featured in the game was generated using AI music composition tools. These tools assisted in creating musical elements that align with the game’s atmosphere and emotional tone, which were then reviewed and refined by our development team to ensure they complement the gameplay experience.Store Page Assets: Various visual elements on the game’s Steam store page, including promotional graphics and layout components, were created with the support of AI image generation tools. These assets were designed to effectively showcase the game’s features and aesthetic, with adjustments made by our team to ensure consistency with the game’s identity.Character and Monster Art: The initial concept art and base designs for the game’s characters and monsters were developed using AI image generation tools. These AI-generated concepts served as a foundation, which our artists then expanded upon, refined, and personalized to ensure unique visual identities, cohesive art direction, and alignment with the game’s narrative and world-building.We remain committed to delivering an engaging and polished gaming experience, with AI serving as a creative aid to support our development process.
Title: Disclosure of AI-Generated Content
Disclaimer:
This game contains art assets that were created with the assistance of generative AI tools. All AI-generated content was heavily curated, edited, and modified by our human art team to ensure it aligns with the game's unique artistic vision and quality standards. We affirm that we have the appropriate rights to all assets, both AI-generated and human-created, used in our game.
Assets generated with the assistance of ChatGPT (OpenAI), DeepAI.org, and Hailuo (video). Music by Udio. Writing, direction, and design by Julio Salazar.
Story,Localization;
I'm using AI as a tool to assist me, but the main story, characters, and major plot points are all created by me. This way, there's no unnecessarily long or ridiculous AI-generated story; I'm just using it to make things clearer.
Some background music tracks were generated with the assistance of generative AI during development.
All AI-generated music has been manually reviewed, edited, and verified by the developer to ensure it does not infringe on any copyrights or intellectual property.
The application itself does not include any generative AI functionality.
AI has been used occasionally to assist with coding and, more rarely, for refining visual elements. However, the vast majority of the game has been developed without the use of AI.
Generative AI is currently used to create certain pre-rendered visual assets, including promotional artwork and some in-game visuals.
All gameplay systems, mechanics, and code are developed manually.
Some non-player character voices are generated using AI voice synthesis. This allows for faster iteration and more immersive atmosphere during development. No gameplay, narrative choices, or in-game content are generated by AI.
Mini Scouts uses generative AI tools to create certain visual assets, including hero sprites, backgrounds, and select promotional images for the store page. All AI-generated content is pre-rendered, reviewed, and edited by a human being before inclusion in the game or marketing materials.
Now, we know that AI art cannot and should not compete with human art. Hence, we'd love to bring aboard interested human artists so we can replace our gen-AI assets with assets made with love by human beings!❤️
Character voices are synthesized with the Voice Synthesizer VOICEVOX, and the Japanese translation is provided by the machine translator DeepL. Neither of these uses generate content in real-time. No sprites, code, ideas, music, or any other elements not mentioned were made with AI.
Because this game was developed and produced by an individual with limited energy, some icons and story texts were generated with the assistance of AI and were manually screened and polished to improve the overall game quality and player experience.
AI-Generated Content Disclosure
I am a solo developer with no programming background. Before using AI, I spent three months following YouTube tutorials, deleted everything and restarted three times, and typed every line of code myself until the foundation of this game clicked.
From there, I used AI — primarily Claude — as a teacher and debugging partner across 7,000+ conversations over 16 months to learn GDScript and build every system in the game. The first line in my prompts is always "Stop being a yes sayer and always be brutal and honest."
Here is exactly what AI was and wasn't used for:
Code: I spent my first three months writing every line of code by hand. As the project grew, AI became a development partner — drafting code from my descriptions, which I then reviewed, debugged, and integrated. AI taught me programming concepts and helped me solve problems. Every design decision and system architecture is mine.
Art: AI-generated with extensive human direction and manual editing. Some pieces required 15 pages of descriptions. I often assemble final art from multiple elements — finding references, combining parts, and making hands-on edits until it matches my vision.
Animation: The first 14 enemies and 2 bosses were animated by me personally in DragonBones. For newer content, I'm exploring AI-generated animations and working to make them feel personal and consistent with the game's style — you can see examples with the later bosses. Some of these I'm still not satisfied with and will redo, which is just part of the process.
Music: I produced 350+ tracks using AI music tools and curated the best for the game. All creative direction — mood, style, placement — is mine.
Writing: All card text, lore, descriptions, and UI text are written by me. AI occasionally helps with polish.
Game Design: Every mechanic, card interaction, and balance decision comes from a lifetime of gaming — hundreds of board games, decades of Magic: The Gathering, a career at Blizzard Entertainment, and more consoles than most people can count. AI does not design games. That part is entirely human.
EDIT1: I felt the need to mention that I got diagnosed with ADHD last year, at the age of 47. The reason I could never learn coding in a traditional way is my attention span. If I am not interested it is super hard, and if I am interested it is super awesome. I get excited when I can talk and describe how I want my game to feel and function. The AI converts that to code, and together we've created a way for me to follow my dream and make a game that I want to play. I have thought to myself many times during development that I wish I knew how to make this myself, and I wish I was able to just learn and do things like most people. But here we are.
"EDIT2: I updated the Code section to be more precise. I only wrote code entirely by hand for the first three months. After that, AI and I worked together — I designed and described what I needed in detail, AI drafted it, and I reviewed, debugged, and integrated everything."
Real-Time Generation: All content is created dynamically during gameplay. It is not a copy of existing works, but rather a spontaneous reaction to player actions—similar to improvisation.
