Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Some assets were created with the assistance of generative AI.
Enhanced and translated store page text using AI.
Reel Talk is made by Lost Rabbit Digital: two siblings who handle all the coding, music, writing, and playtesting ourselves, with help from one additional artist, and one musician. We're a tiny team with no outside funding. To keep up, we sometimes use AI tools to brainstorm or generate rough drafts. But nothing ships without our hands on it. Every line of code, every sprite, every track is reviewed, rewritten, and refined by us.
We use generative AI tools to create and iterate on certain marketing visuals (e.g., concept mockups and promotional graphics). These assets are reviewed and refined by our team before publication, and AI is not used to generate in-game content or gameplay-critical assets.
Our game's store page and parts of the in-game interface were generated using AI.
AI-generated artwork: Used Banana AI/Midjourney with reference images to create consistent bird fighting game visuals (raven capsule, owl hero banner) matching Steam specs in 2 hours.
AI assisted tooling has been used sparingly during the creation of some in-game content: Music, textures
Generative AI tools were used in a supportive role for some character visuals and promotional materials. All AI-assisted artwork was manually edited and refined. The game’s design, mechanics, and code were created manually.
Some AI tools were used by the developer for UI design and coding assistance only. No generative AI was used to create in-game content, visuals, audio, or gameplay mechanics. All game assets and logic are created or selected by the developer.
AI-Generated Content Policy: To efficiently utilize development resources, we have leveraged AI generation technology to create some of the background images and promotional artwork, BGM on this store page.
Only a few icons are generated by an AI.
We are using AI-powered tools in the promotion process of our game. AI plays a supportive role in language translation, store pages, marketing materials, and content creation for community posts. All AI-generated content is reviewed and improved by our team before finalization.
Following is generated using AI: AI is used only to generate some pre-created assets. No AI-generated content is produced during gameplay. Store Page *The game icon was created with the help of AI tools. *The store page description was rewritten using AI assistance. In-Game Content *The tutorial voice-overs are generated using the text-to-speech service TTSFree. *The tutorial narration text was originally written in German and translated into English with DeepL, with developer review and adjustments.
AI tools were utilized during the development process primarily to assist with coding (scripting logic/debugging) and to prototype initial concepts for certain 2D UI elements. All AI-generated output has been manually reviewed, edited, and refined by the developer to ensure it fits the game's atmosphere and quality standards. This game does not use any real-time AI generation during gameplay.
Currently, AI-generated content is being used for the store page, marketing materials, and/or community center materials to showcase a general vision of the game's future during the early development phase (game screenshots are labeled as "Prototype"), but with the subsequent removal and implementation of original content.
Some of the game and promo assets (Less than 5% of all the game assets) were made or improved using AI as a temporal decision and will be replaced when it's financially possible
Promo materials for marketing and community.
This game was created using advanced generative AI (neural networks) technology to accelerate and inspire the development process.
Generative AI tools were used to develop selected game elements.
Game logo and game puzzle images made with ai tools
This game uses AI-generated artwork for character designs, card illustrations, and visual assets. As a solo indie developer, I used AI tools to create base artwork, which was then manually refined and edited by hand. All AI-generated content was created during pre-production and does not generate new content in real-time during gameplay.
The game logo and some of the artwork in the store page were created with the assistance of AI.

3D models and some 2D visuals / textures are made by AI assisted
Some promotional images for Pigmen’s Challenge, including store page artwork and certain non-gameplay visual materials, were created with the assistance of AI tools. AI is not used during gameplay. The game does not use AI to generate gameplay, logic, systems, dialogue, characters, levels, or any interactive player-facing content in real time. All AI-assisted materials were reviewed and edited by the developer before being used.
The texture for carpet and wallpaper were generated before being overhauled by hand by myself. No other assets are AI generated.

To create the pixel art and music of the game
The game logo and some of the artwork in the store page were created with the assistance of AI.
I used claude.code to write the code for the game.
The main menu song was created with the help of artificial intelligence.
Our game uses light AI systems to enhance the fun — not to replace creativity. In Sketch Royale, players are the true artists. The AI simply helps by generating fun, random drawing prompts (like “a penguin playing basketball” or “space sushi chef”) and managing matchmaking, scoring, and moderation. The drawings themselves are 100% created by players using in-game tools — no AI image generation or automated artwork is used. The goal is to keep the experience creative, social, and entirely human-driven, with AI acting as a playful game host rather than the artist.
The Steam Header /Library/Etc Capsule background (All the same 1 MidJourney image)
Some sound effects and portions of the music soundtrack were created using AI-assisted audio tools. AI is used only as a creative aid for generating and polishing audio assets; it does not affect gameplay, player data, or in-game decision making.
The logo and certain textures in the game was AI generated. AI is used during game development.
AI was used to localize the current store page descriptions from English into other languages, but no in-game content is generated by AI.
We sometimes use procedural and AI tools to help bring our ideas to life, but every final asset is crafted and guided by the imagination of our team.
Some of the hint illustrations are AI-generated.
Some in-game assets are created using generative AI.
Some icons, background images, and sound effects are generated by AI
Some sound effects and supplementary music tracks were created using generative AI tools. No AI-generated visuals or gameplay elements are used in the game itself.
AI was used for the minor UI elements ,some backgrounds and one BGM.
This game uses generative AI only to create a player character’s 3D head. The AI uses a fixed set of pre-approved traits and does not allow text prompts, user uploads, copyrighted references, brands, or trademarked characters. All outputs are controlled and reviewed to ensure they follow Steam’s guidelines.
Generative AI was used only to create some pre-rendered in-game visual assets.
I use it to review my code for efficiency and to spark inspiration for some art. It also helps with generating secondary or background art elements, but the core creative work and vision are all mine!
The images on the Steam store page use artificial intelligence.
As a small Indie studio, we can't afford a composer and voice actors, so for the moment we decided to use AI. Ideally, for the release, we will be using real voices actors and music composed by a real composer.
During development, we used some AI tools to speed things up in areas where we weren’t as experienced. That saved us a lot of time, letting us focus on the fun stuff — creating cool gameplay mechanics, improving performance, and making sure the game runs smoothly without annoying bugs.
Some placeholder music is AI Generated (will eventually be replaced with custom music but AI is easier for now due to not having copyright issues for content creators. If you make music contact us).
