Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Used for generating card illustrations.
Generative AI was used in a limited capacity during development. The final game does not include AI-generated art, audio, dialogue, or live AI-driven content.
Our team used artificial intelligence to create the initial segment of the product’s promotional video
Our game uses AI to create unique and quirky voice lines, adding personality to each character
This game does not contain any AI-generated assets created or used by our development team within the core game, its visuals, audio, story, UI, store page, or marketing materials. The only exception is a fully optional thematic affix called “Brainrot” in the Zinky Zoogle game mode. This affix includes references to brainrot meme characters and voices that emerged online in 2025, which were already widely circulated and community-created AI meme content. These elements were incorporated as-is, purely for thematic and comedic purposes, to match the absurd tone of the game. This content is: - Entirely optional - Not part of the original Zinky Zoogle mode - Does not affect gameplay progression Outside of this clearly labeled and optional affix, the game contains no AI generation of any kind.
AI has been used to help develop the game's cover art.
This game uses artificial intelligence only for narrative content creation. All dialogue, descriptions, and text were generated with the help of AI during development, with manual review to ensure quality, cohesion, and originality. AI is not used in real time during gameplay and does not interact directly with the player. All final content was carefully integrated into the game before release.
An LLM (AI) is used to generate the story of your turn. Much like a dice roll, the generated story may result in your success or failure! Your turn is shown in an animated and narrated cutscene, all generated by the AI.
AI was used to assist in the generation of a small number of game textures.
We may utilize procedural and AI-based tools throughout our development process to support content creation, including the use of text-to-speech technology for our voiceover work. Regardless, every aspect of the final product is a direct result of our team's own creative vision and expression.
AI used to generate and edit community images, marketing and Concept Arts.
All gameplay design, level creation, and art direction are human-crafted. Select background music tracks and UI textures in the current build were created with AI assistance. Original bespoke compositions are being produced for final release.
AI was used to generate game artwork in the menu pages and for some elements of the in-game userinterface.
Generative Ai is used to generate the covers of hundreds of in-game titles that change over time and are added as time passes.
Our small indie team has responsibly used generative AI tools to accelerate our development while maintaining full creative control. We used MidJourney to generate base visual assets, which were then carefully edited, customized, and rendered by our artists to match the game’s artistic direction. These AI-generated elements are part of the final visual content, but were not used “as-is” and underwent human refinement. For localization, we used AI-based tools to assist with proofreading and translation consistency, ensuring clearer communication across languages. No AI systems are used during gameplay or in real-time content generation. All interactive and gameplay logic was developed by our team. We fully comply with Steam’s policies regarding AI use, and all assets were created and integrated within the scope of ethical and legal use. Transparency and player trust are at the heart of our approach.
AI was used to generate the voice of the announcer host in the trailer and in-game.
Some pre-rendered assets, such as images, were created using generative AI and then modified by hand to meet the required design and quality standards. No live generative AI is used.
AI has been used to help develop the game's cover art.
We use AI to generate the music for the game.
- The rest of the game (game design, code, visual assets, story, text, etc.) was not created using generative AI. - The AI does not participate in real-time gameplay and does not generate content for the user.
The tutorial text of each game experience is explained by an AI voice generated using text to speech. This content is specifically designed to provide an audiovisual link and memorization of the controls and game explanation, thus lowering the barrier to entry for younger players and players with literacy deficits.
As we are indie developers, we use some generative ai tools image generator or ai chatbots, to get birds eye view of how the game will look like, and to create a better plan for our game, then we created the content ourselves.
background music is created with the help of generative AI
AI helps me with texts on the Steam page (grammar correction, translations, and texts). AI helps me correct errors in the game code and optimize it (Integrated Microsoft Copilot in the Visual Studio environment). I don't use AI at all for music and sound creation. I don't use AI at all for 3D or 2D graphics creation.
The high quality reward images of the game are AI-generated.
Some pre-rendered graphics were created with AI. All voices were pre-made with top quality AI.
AI was used to handle translation of all text in game, on the Steam page and in announcements.
AI was used to assist with basic concept art for some content.
1. The game uses AI only for image recognition, analysing drawings during the guessing phase to produce a guess and a short explanation. 2. The game does not use AI for any form of image generation or sound generation. 3. Players can choose to share their data to potentially improve the game’s image recognition AI. Only data that players have consented to share will be used. All other data will be deleted.
During the development of the game, the generation of music samples was used, as well as the generation of image elements for character avatars and team emblems.
AI tools were used to generate translations for in-game text and store page content.
Players need to talk to characters, powered by LLMs, for clues in their adventures.
Only the music featured in the promotional trailer for this game was produced using generative AI. Additionally, generative AI was used to assist with translation of certain texts. There is no real-time content creation, gameplay, or use of generative AI in the game itself. Generative AI is not used in the creation of any in-game mechanics, text, graphics, or assets.

As a small indie team, we may use procedural and/or AI-based tools to assist with the development process. In all such cases, the final product reflects the creativity and expression of our own development team.
Generative AI is used to create logo and banner images.
The names of the characters in the game are AI-generated
I am currently using ElevenLabs synthetic voices for my eight characters. The synthetic voices are generated from scratch. They are not clones of any real people. I look forward hiring professional voice actors once the game is successful.
We leveraged AI to generate pre-rendered content for our game such as concept art and background images.
Artificial intelligence was used in generation of the game backgrounds
Club Koala uses AI integration regarding NPCs (non-playable characters). Our NPCS are intelligent, adaptable and will grow alongside players to enhance gaming experience. Think of Club Koala’s AI NPCs as your pals as they will foster unique interactions and dialogues. A few textures are done using AI generated content.
Some textures in Candy Bandits were initially generated using AI tools and then manually edited and adjusted by our artists to meet our design and quality standards. No generative AI is used during gameplay or player interaction.
This game uses AI-generated content for: Store capsule artwork All AI content has been reviewed and edited by our development team to ensure quality and appropriateness.
We generated drafts for the game's and company logos, part of the capsules art, the voice in the trailer and the store texts. Then we adapted them to our liking.
Character voices in game are AI generated.
Generated images are used as placeholder art for certain role portraits.
