Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Used AI generated UI and Art.
Generative AI was used during development to create the galaxy illustration displayed in the game’s galaxy-map interface and menus, as well as promotional artwork used for Steam capsule and library images. Trailer production uses AI-generated music and selected transition sound effects. These materials are generated during development, rather than during gameplay. The game does not offer player-facing live AI content generation.
AI-assisted tools were used during development to create and edit visual assets, including characters, equipment, creatures, environments, UI and store illustrations, and to assist with story text and localization. Music and sound effects were made using AI-assisted synthesis code and composition rules. The game uses prepared assets and predefined effects; it does not generate AI content or connect to generative AI services during play.
The in game graphics were generated with ai.
Some 2D pixel-art sprites and illustrations (fortune-game icons, items and backgrounds) were created with the help of AI image tools (PixelLab) and then edited and curated by our developer. All game text, fortune logic, code, sound and the cat character animations are made by the developer or licensed (CC0/OFL).
Mossgrave was built with an AI coding assistant, directed and reviewed by the developer. The AI wrote the game's code, including the procedural code that generates the 3D models, textures, pixel-art interface, music and sound effects. It also drafted the in-game text (dialogue, quest and item descriptions) and the text on this store page. Store images are captured from the game itself. No AI image or music generation models were used. The trailer's narration is an AI-generated voice; the game itself has no voice acting, and nothing is generated by AI while you play.
AI tools were used during development to create music, selected sound effects and promotional artwork, and to assist with written content and translations. Content is prepared in advance; no AI content is generated during gameplay.
During development we used procedural and AI-assisted tools to help create some content. The game does not generate any content with AI while you play.
Sound effects and voice-overs were created using generative AI tools.
The title logo was generated with an AI image tool and then cropped and resized by the developer. The store capsule artwork (the key art behind the logo) was generated with an AI image tool from text prompts only, then cropped and resized by the developer. The in-game text in every language except English and Japanese is machine-translated with an AI language model from the developer's English and Japanese text, and has not yet been reviewed by native speakers. Some English and Japanese interface text and the English and Japanese store description were drafted with an AI writing assistant and then reviewed and edited by the developer. The store description in the other languages is translated with an AI language model. The majority of the code and the design was written by AI coding agents (Claude and Codex) under the developer's direction and review. The in-game characters, items, maps, effects, music, sound effects and fonts are mostly purchased or licensed assets. The exceptions are 8 equipment icons, the slash and healing effects, the spectators in the stands, the crowd cheers and the app icon, which were drawn or synthesized by programs written by AI coding agents (no image or audio generation model was used). The cutting out, combining, recoloring and touching up of the purchased assets, and the shapes and light effects the game draws on screen during matches, are also done by programs written by AI.
Some of the game's text (menus, hints, minigame descriptions and translations) and the copy on this store page were written with the help of an AI language model. The game does not use AI to create anything while you play.
The visuals, music, sound effects, store art, trailer and text for CYBERBIKES were made with the help of AI under my direction, built in code with Blender and Godot. LINK's voice is pre-recorded text-to-speech from the open Kokoro model. Nothing is generated while you play.
AI is used to aid in store page.
Generative AI tools were used to create promotional artwork for the Steam store and to assist with in-game localization. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay. Gameplay screenshots and gameplay footage were captured in the game.
Some included character, animal, creature and sample images were created with generative AI and then edited and prepared for the product. Generative AI also assisted with localization. MEMEMINT does not generate new images or text with generative AI during use and does not connect to a third-party generative AI service. Its local background-removal feature uses a non-generative segmentation model.
The introductory video of the game store page is created using generative artificial intelligence tools.
Some small game assets were modeled using ai.
Generative AI was used during development to create selected pre-generated visual assets, including some character models, weapon presentation models and related images, as well as some promotional artwork for the store. These assets were selected, post-processed and integrated by the developer. Store gameplay screenshots are captured from the running game and have not been generatively altered; they may show game content that uses pre-generated AI assets. The current game does not call generative AI services or generate new content during play.
This game uses generative AI to assist in creating some game assets. All AI-generated assets are manually reviewed, adjusted, and refined by the developer. The game does not generate AI content in real-time during gameplay.
Generative AI was used to help create some of the game's art assets, concept art, and promotional images, which were then selected, refined, and integrated by the developer.
AI was used as an interface and scripting assistant for industry standard tools such as Reaper, Godot, Blender, Aseprite, and Deepl for enhancing the quality and consistency of the game content and building systems I otherwise would not have the capacity to design and implement as solo developer. Where possible, artists are and will continue to be supported via use of their paid or free assets. For this game, the most money spent was on Quaternius source level packages. Notable exception to this is the UI, which was generated using RetroDiffusion with a python pipeline built in house for consistent design around UI elements using color normalization and targeting from a theme palette, which is then imported and tweaked in Godot.
The booth announcer's voice (Chuck Baseball) is generated with ElevenLabs from a script written by the developers. AI tools also assisted with translating the game's text into Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian and French.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with some artwork, text and localization, and English announcer voice clips created using text-to-speech. This content is prepared in advance and used as fixed assets in the game or on its Steam store page. No AI-generated content is created during gameplay.
Generative AI tools may be used during development to assist in creating certain pre-generated visual, written, audio, or marketing content. All such content is reviewed and curated by the development team before inclusion. The game does not use generative AI to generate content during gameplay.
This game was created with extensive AI assistance. AI-generated and AI-assisted content is used in the game, store artwork, descriptions and trailer. This includes graphics and artwork, text, and contributions to programming, music and trailer production. The trailer and screenshots show actual footage captured from the game. No generative AI content is created during gameplay, and the game does not connect to external AI services while being played.
Images in the game’s gallery were created using AI.
The in-game Japanese and Simplified Chinese translations were created with the help of AI tools. AI coding assistants were also used during development. All artwork, from pitches to character designs, was made by hand, and the music was created by the credited artists.
Sound effects and music were created with AI audio tools (ElevenLabs) and selected and edited by the developer. Parts of the in-game text, villager dialogue and translations were written with the help of AI and reviewed by the developer. AI coding assistants were used during development, including scripts that build the game's 3D models. No AI generates content while you play.
Some of the game's pre-made content was created with the help of generative AI tools and then edited and checked by the developer: character, monster, item and background artwork, store artwork, music and sound effects. The game does not generate any content with AI while you play.
Some of the background music, the in-game translations and parts of the store text were created with the help of generative AI tools, then reviewed and edited by the developer.
Pre-generated content: some 3D models (character/boss bodies and props) were generated with AI and then cleaned up, rigged and textured by hand in Blender and Unity; some voice lines and sound effects were generated with AI voice/SFX tools; parts of the trailer footage were AI-assisted; in-game text translations for some languages were produced with AI assistance and reviewed. No content is generated live while the game is running.
AI was used in the production of some visual assets in the game. All AI-assisted content was carefully reviewed and refined to ensure quality, consistency, and suitability for the game.
Most of the visual assets in this game (character illustrations, background art, UI assets, etc.) were created using AI image generation tools. Game design, programming, scenario writing, and combat balancing were done by the developer.
This game uses AI as a development aid. The English and Chinese translations (in-game and on the store page) were produced with AI. Some of the in-game music, sound effects and art are generated by programs written with the help of AI. No content is generated by AI during play.
Voices And Sounds Are AI Generated
Generative AI was used during development to create, pixel artwork, music and written content under our concept and design direction. The game contains pre-generated content only; it does not generate AI content during play.
LAZARUS was developed with the help of generative AI tools. AI assisted in writing the game's code — including the code that draws every visual and synthesizes all music and sound effects in real time — as well as drafting the story, dialogue, in-game text, English/Chinese localization and store page text. All content was directed, reviewed and edited by the developer. The game does not use AI to generate any content while it is running.
HearthMoon uses AI to generate NPC dialogue during gameplay and synthesize NPC voices. Spoken input is transcribed so villagers and the dragon companion can respond to the player. AI-assisted artwork and writing are also used in development and in store-page marketing. Conversations are experimental and responses may be inconsistent.
Some of the promotional and storefront images were created with AI tools and then refined by hand. All of the in-game assets were designed by a Pixel Art artist.
Pre-generated AI tools assisted with development, including code, interface copy and localization, in-game comic illustrations, and promotional key art, logo, and icon drafts. The developer reviewed and edited all AI-assisted output before inclusion. The game does not generate AI content while running.
AI tools were used during development to create some sound effects and voice audio, and to assist with store-page text. These assets and text are prepared in advance.
Generative image generation was used to create the PANIC POST logo. The game includes this pre-generated logo and icon artwork derived from it.
Generative AI Usage Disclosure Generative AI tools were used during the development of One Last Shot! to generate or assist with the game’s code, character designs, and visual assets. This includes AI-assisted programming, refactoring, and debugging, as well as AI-generated or AI-assisted character concepts, card artwork, backgrounds, UI elements, and other visual assets. All AI-generated or AI-assisted content included in the released version was reviewed, edited, integrated, and tested by the development team. The game does not use live generative AI during gameplay, and no text, images, audio, or other content is generated at runtime through an external AI service.
