Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
During development, generative AI was used to assist with creating placeholder artwork, text, and portions of the game's code. All AI-generated content was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the development team, and we confirm that the final content does not knowingly infringe the intellectual property rights of others.
Pixel art assets, the soundtrack, and portions of the game's writing were created with generative AI, then curated and edited by the developer. The game's design, satirical concept, and systems are original human work. All sound effects were recorded by voice actors.
Some temporary horror sound effects and vocal effects in this game were created using generative AI tools during development. These assets have been reviewed and integrated by the developer. As development continues and resources become available, these temporary AI-generated audio assets may be replaced with recordings created by professional voice actors and sound engineers to further enhance the game's atmosphere and realism.
Some visual assets in this game, including certain character and background art, were created with the assistance of generative AI tools and then reviewed and edited by the developer. All gameplay, code, and design are human-directed. This game does not use AI to generate any content during gameplay.
I am currently a solo developer working hard to bring this project to life. To keep development moving during the early stages, you will notice some placeholder character portraits and backgrounds that were AI-assisted.
My goal and commitment is to replace every piece of AI-generated content with custom-made, hand-crafted pixel art by the time of the official 1.0 release. All current monster designs, battle maps, and GUI elements are already original pixel artwork. I appreciate your patience as I work to ensure the final version of the game fully reflects my personal artistic vision!
Parts of development (coding assistance) and the store/marketing page's text and graphics were created using AI-assisted tools (including Anthropic Claude). In-game graphics and audio come from licensed asset packs or were assembled manually; no content is generated by AI at runtime within the game.
I took human-made photographs, edited them by hand, then used AI to apply a consistent art style among them in batches so they all look thematically related
Some asset textures, background music, and assistance with game development questions include AI-generated content.
No AI translation was used for Japanese, English, Korean, or Czech.
Assistance in programming ( the programmer can't remember Godot's _unhandled_input(event) syntax even after 5 projects… ). Assistance with text and minor graphic patching.
AI-assisted tools were used during development for text drafting, limited programming assistance, and the creation of certain Steam store page assets, including background imagery used in promotional materials. All gameplay systems, characters, artwork, animations, and final game content were designed, created, implemented, and curated by the development team.
AI tools were used to generate some of the bulk flavor text/copy (which were human-reviewed/modified/tested).
All other assets (music, sound effects, artwork, sprites, core game text, etc) were created by humans.
Pre-Generated Content:
We used generative AI tools to create some of the background music (BGM) and environmental sounds. Additionally, some 2D background artwork, such as loading screens, was generated using AI. All AI-generated assets have been strictly reviewed and heavily edited by the developer to fit the game's stylized direction and ensure they do not infringe on any third-party copyrights.
Live-Generated Content:
This game does not contain any live-generated AI content.
We use AI tools where appropriate to streamline our workflow, specifically for pre-generating certain in-game assets such as images and music, as well as assisting with translations
!! AI translations only !!
Explanation:
As an indie developer, I want my game to be accessible to as many players around the world as possible. Unfortunately, I don't have the resources to hire professional translators for every language I would like to support.
In the past, developers often relied on tools like Google Translate to make their games available in more languages. Today, AI translation is another option, and it can produce better results than traditional machine translation.
Everything else in the game, including the original text, artwork, sounds, music, game design and code, was created by humans. AI is used only for translation.
Generative AI was used in the creation and editing of some visual assets, promotional materials, and other creative content appearing in the game and on the store page. All final content was reviewed, edited, and implemented by the developer.
This game contains AI-assisted content, including voice performances and music. Without it, the visuals would likely resemble the work of a sleep-deprived stick figure artist. All AI-assisted content was deliberately directed, reviewed, and approved to serve the game's specific creative vision. No AI generates content during gameplay — everything was put here on purpose. Probably.
Billionaire MAX is an indie game where the core game design, mechanics, balance, and creative direction were authored by the developer, while the implementation work was assisted by AI tools.
The following content was created with AI assistance:
- Source code: Game logic, UI, networking, and other code was written with the help of AI coding assistants. All code was reviewed, tested, and integrated by the developer.
- Visual assets: Achievement icons, sector illustrations, and in-game card art were generated with AI image generation tools. The developer curated, edited, and selected every asset before inclusion.
- Sound effects: Created with AI audio generation tools. The developer curated and selected each sound effect before inclusion.
- Localization: Initial drafts of English, Korean, and Simplified Chinese translations were produced with AI assistance, then proofread and refined by the developer.
The following content was NOT created with AI:
- Game design and rules
- Music
- Final QA and gameplay tuning
No AI generation occurs at runtime. The game does not invoke any AI service during gameplay; players never see content produced live by AI.
📝 AI Generation Transparency (Steam Store Page)
1. Real-Time Narrative Gameplay (LLM):
The core of the game is powered by an advanced Large Language Model (AI) that generates kidnappers' responses in real-time. Unlike traditional games, your dialogues are not limited to pre-written choices. The AI interprets your arguments, your tone, and your creativity to offer unique and unpredictable reactions. We have implemented strict moderation filters to ensure that all interactions remain within the satirical framework of the game and fully comply with Steam’s community guidelines.
2. Pre-Production Creative Assistance:
We utilized AI-generative image tools for artistic exploration and concept art during the initial design phases. This allowed us to define the game's "moonshot" and vibrant aesthetic.Important Note: All final visual assets (interfaces, characters, environments) have been retouched, finalized, or recreated by our human team to ensure total artistic consistency and full respect for intellectual property.
Some of the 2D artwork in Chaebol Chaos — including character portraits and certain environment illustrations — was created with the assistance of generative AI image tools during development. Every AI-generated asset was reviewed, edited, and approved by our team before being included in the game. No generative AI is used at runtime; the game ships as a static offline experience with no network-dependent content generation.
Visual and music assets in the game were created or assisted using generative AI tools during development. All content has been reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer.
Some visual, audio, and creative assets in Overcommit may be partially created with the assistance of generative AI tools during the development process.
These tools are used to help prototype ideas, generate reference material, or assist in producing certain assets. All generated content is reviewed, edited, and curated by the developer to ensure it fits the game’s artistic style and design.
Generative AI is not used to create gameplay dynamically, and it does not interact with player data.
This game currently includes a few 2D Image AI-generated assets (those include 5 of the slot machine's icons, 7 character portraits displayed on the main hallway, the main menu background image & current thumbnail) used as placeholders during the Early Access phase. These assets are scheduled to be replaced with original, non-AI artwork in a future content update. No AI tools are used for live, runtime content generation.
I feel the AI tag for my game is not actually reasonable. i tried to explain myself to steam and to stop forcing me to set this AI toggle but the automated system is forcing me to say i used AI
AI-assisted translation tools were used for the store page and for localizing in-game text into multiple languages. (Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, German)
This game features user-generated content (UGC), which may include AI-generated materials created by our players.
We utilize AI technologies to assist with the generation, modification, and review of in-game localization, and to create select graphical assets, such as achievements, badges, UI icons, logos and marketing materials.
As a solo developer, I used generative AI tools to assist in creating many of the game's character sprites, environmental art, and audio assets. This allowed me to focus my limited time on the things I care about most: deep mechanical systems, addictive prestige progression, satisfying combat feel, and making the "numbers go up" fantasy as juicy and rewarding as possible.
The pipes, ley lines, and gas mains of Arcana, Gas & Waterworks Inc. were designed, debated, and duct-taped together by a single developer. All music was licensed from real indie musicians, who did NOT use generative AI in any way, and who are credited in the game. Generative AI tools helped bring AGW Inc. to life by turning hand-drawn sketches into finished art, scripting sound effects, and contributing early drafts of in-game text. All of this content was rewritten, expanded, or replaced by the developer to fit the game's voice and world. Thanks to the help of these AI tools, I was able to finally answer the burning question, "What if fantasy worlds needed infrastructure?"
The following 3D models were generated using AI
: Suit jacket, suit pants, socks, underwear, tie
The following item images were generated using AI
: Suit jacket, diffuser, tie, suit pants, underwear, white shirt, socks
Achievement icons were generated using AI
The following language logo images were generated using AI
: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese
Some or all translations for the following languages were generated using AI
: English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese
This game was made entirely with AI. The writing, code, art, music, and deployment were all created using generative AI tools — primarily Claude by Anthropic. That's not a disclaimer, it's the premise. Meet Claude is a satire about AI dependency, built with AI, by someone still figuring out where the line is.
