Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI has been used only to generate sounds.
This game is mainly based on several aspects that were developed using modern artificial intelligence, such as some graphics, backgrounds, and music to create a modern and deep style for the game, while merging it with the content drawn with a human character from the development team and the context.
We use AI to create images of craft items to make the drinks that appear in our games. Generative AI was utilized to create walking animation of characters.
AI has been used to help develop the game's cover art.
Ai is used to generate images and marketing material/ text content
Most images in this game began as AI-generated drafts, then edited and finalized by an artist. The AI served as a tool in the development workflow.
AI has been used to help develop the game's cover art.
Temporary music I used and created at Suno for just the title menu and levels. but other things such as jingles and win and loose music and "cutscene" music is made by me. but I plan to do replace it with a artist soon. I am in talks right now with them.
Music generated by AI, some images referenced from AI
Game assets for animals and background images were generated by AI.
Due to budget constraints, some of the game's 2D sprites are generated by a neural network.
The in-game images were generated using AI and meticulously reviewed and approved by our in-house art team to ensure a diverse, immersive experience that fits the crime scene context and aligns with the game's graphic style. No images are generated during gameplay. Additionally, the assistant that accompanies the player at the crime scene sometimes intervenes using artificial intelligence to analyze the scene in real time, enhancing the realism of both the crime scenes and the overall gaming experience. Thanks to AI integration, all suspects are brought to life in a vivid and believable manner, enabling players to conduct detailed interrogations and determine who is innocent or guilty when the interrogation is executed correctly.
Some art assets created partially using AI
Voice-over for the tutorial and in-game tips
AI was used to generate the Splash Screen (used in the store) and Character Thumbnails only, during development. All code, models, story, and audio were created manually.
This game was created with the help of artificial intelligence.
Some graphic, icons or design
AI was used to generate some assets and marketing material.
Music Generation (Licensed)
A minimal amount of non-essential content (such as minor textures and some translations) was created with limited AI assistance. No core gameplay, narrative, or artistic content was generated using AI.
2 BGM was generated using AI. Some background image for the PVE mode was generated using AI.
AI was used in the creation of certain visual assets, including character avatars, title screen artwork, promotional materials, and background art. However, these assets still required substantial manual work such as design, sketching, outline drawing, and polishing. The AI was used primarily as a tool for coloring and enhancement, and it did not dictate the creative direction. The visual style remains faithful to the original Little Fighter 2. Some people assume that because AI was used in certain artwork, it must have been applied throughout the entire project. That is far from the truth. I used AI primarily for large-scale visual tasks. To give a clearer picture: the game includes over 3,000 hand-crafted sprite frames, composed from thousands of hand-drawn body parts. In contrast, only about 100 images were AI-assisted, and many of those, such as promotional artwork, don't even appear in the actual game. I understand that some people may have concerns about the use of AI in the creative process. But I hope people can see the broader context and appreciate the amount of manual effort that went into making this game. Please know that I’m a solo developer working with a limited budget. I’ve been developing this project for around 3.5 years; even quitting my full-time job for a year to work on it full time, without expecting it to cover even half of my previous salary. I've done my best to balance quality and practicality. Your understanding and support mean a great deal to me.
Practically all the content for the game was made by AI, pictures, text, parts of the code.
Some image assets are produced with AI assistance.
Soundtrack by Suno AI
The vast majority of art materials in this game are generated using AI. But the generated art materials are mostly scenes, food, tables, chairs, benches, etc., so there is no copyright issue.
We used Ai drawing software to generate cover images and some in-game textures
The images for the game loading page are generated by AI
Some of the store images are modified using artificial intelligence. In the game, the game background uses artificial intelligence, and some characters use artificial intelligence to make modifications on top of it.
There are a few textures and steam icon assets use from privately trained AI models
AI was used to generate the images for the steam store pages.
The game contains images that were generated by the AI during the development process. The developer designed a specific prompt for each image that was requested from the AI and the generated images were stored in the game. No AI is used during the game and no internet connection is used.
LLMs were used to assist with the text descriptions for the store page. LLMs were used to assist with the coding and coding research for scripts. Art background and character models are at least partially AI.
"Ecos del Fuego"(Snakes song) is AI generated
Due to budget constraints, the cover illustrations in the Story menu of the game are generated using AI, which will hardly have any substantial impact on the gameplay experience. Depending on future budget considerations, we will decide whether to hire an illustrator to redraw the illustrations. Some of the language translations in the game are done using AI. If you have any better localization suggestions, please feel free to contact me!
Argillite Tamers connects to self hosted open source models on our personal kubernetes cluster in GCP. Players use an LLM and generative image model to create a Monster's likeness, stats, and moves.
Pre-generated AI was used during development to create 3D models and audio files. These assets were reviewed and edited by the developer before being included in the game.
Our game uses AI to create unique card images and marketing materials.
"In Chef Brawl, we have utilized AI in the following ways: Content Generation: Some game content was initially generated using AI tools. This served as a starting point for our creative process. Design References: AI was used to create design references and inspiration for our final product. Human Refinement: While AI assisted in the initial stages, all AI-generated content and designs were reviewed, refined, and finalized by our human development team to ensure quality and coherence with our game vision. No core gameplay mechanics or critical narrative elements rely on real-time AI processing. The AI was primarily used as a tool in our development process to enhance creativity and efficiency."
To generate Achievement Icons.
Used to create visual assets for the game
Some of the in-game graphical elements and some parts of the game code is generated by AI.
The store page of this game and some game materials have been polished by the open-source AI (stable diffusion), and further processed and optimized by the developers. All drafts are photos taken by the developers themselves and line drawings drawn by themselves. We promise that all AI-generated content complies with the requirements of relevant laws and regulations.
Part of the background content in the game is AI generated images, and most of the background images were generated using Midjourny.
text-to-art AI generated images are used for reference and as base images to be modified for example in collages
We utilized AI tools to generate internal references for composition and framing. These outputs were then used as a base to manually create handcrafted pixel art assets, ensuring all final in-game visuals follow our custom palettes and artistic standards.
Generative AI is used in a responsible manner
Created some game promotional images and icons using AI tools
AI is used to generate concept art for the game as well as the images in the Main and Sub menus.
In my game development process, I used GitHub Copilot to enhance coding efficiency. During the creation of promotional images and videos, I may have used images generated by Stable Diffusion or music generated by Suno. But these assets will NOT appear in the actual game!
