Public Steam disclosure research 26,952 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
We use AI to generate songs
This game uses generative AI tools to assist in creating and optimizing some art assets, music/sound effects, and localization texts. All AI-generated content has been manually reviewed and edited to comply with platform policies and copyright standards.
The narrator's voice lines have been made by AI.
AI-generated assets were used for the characters, enemies, and backgrounds.
We used Gemini (Google's Generative AI) to assist with Japanese to English localization and text translation.
As a small development studio, we had to use AI to generate translations for the game and the Steam page in order to make the game accessible to the widest possible audience. The graphic and audio assets were created either by us or by the team at Craftpix.net (who, it seems, do not use AI).
Some visual assets in this game — including dice textures, character portraits, scene backgrounds, and select UI decorative elements — were created with the assistance of generative AI, then manually curated, retouched, and color-graded before integration. All AI-generated content is pre-rendered static art; the game does not use real-time generation.
During development, we used generative AI image tools to produce base images for some of our 2D art assets. Our artist then worked on them to create the final assets in the game and on the store page.
Generative AI tools were used to assist in the creation of certain visual assets during development. All final in-game content was created and reviewed by professional artists.
Some non-gameplay assets in this game (backgrounds, environment and concept art) were created using AI-assisted workflows, specifically: Runecraft AI (in-house workflow), Higgsfield and Pixellabs (select assets). The game's music is produced through studio recordings with live-played instruments; Suno is used supplementarily for optimizations and atmospheric additions. The majority of all game content (characters, sprites and core assets) is hand-crafted; AI is a supplementary tool in the production process. The shipped game does not generate any content at runtime via AI.
Code, ai has helped with most of the game code, Ai was used as refrence for the ui layout.
Some visual assets used in VoidFall, including promotional artwork and store materials, were created with the assistance of generative AI tools and further edited and integrated during development.
Some skill icons were made or altered with AI.
Generative AI was used during the development process to assist with code optimization, refactoring, and text translation. None of the AI-generated content is generated in real-time or active during live gameplay.

This game contains generative AI content. Some visual/visual arts materials were assisted by generative AI tools during development and were manually selected, edited, and reviewed by the development team before being used in the game or Steam store page. The game features optional real-time AI chat and voice interaction functions. Players can interact with in-game pets through text or voice input, and the backend AI generates text responses based on player input, current game state, and context. Some responses may be delivered via voice. We employ input filtering, output filtering, safety prompts, rate limiting, and abuse detection to minimize the generation of illegal, infringing, explicit, hateful, harassing, or otherwise inappropriate content.
During the development of this game, we used generative AI tools to assist with creating some background visuals and drafting initial narrative texts. All AI-generated content has been manually reviewed, edited, and adapted by our team to ensure it meets our quality standards and fits the game's creative vision. We take full responsibility for all final content presented in the game
AI was used for C# scripting and language translation.
Some of the artwork/Images were Ai Enhanced to make the images clearer. The localization(languages) was done by Ai.
In this work, much of the text is interactively generated by a language generation AI. In addition, language generation AI is used for various judgments on the text entered by players. Furthermore, all the illustrations in this work are created using image generation AI.
This game uses AI assistance as a support tool for efficient development. Scope of AI Use - Assistance with programming and code implementation - Drafting and style adjustment for English localization - Drafting and editing of some in-game text, including Observation Records in the Anomaly Codex, command reaction text, countermeasure procedures, and other text related to gameplay explanations and strategy - Drafting, editing, and proofreading of general text such as social media announcements, descriptions, and notices Scope Where AI Is Not Used Character images, Anomaly images, background images, Steam capsule images, audio, and BGM are created by the developer or use licensed distributed assets. No AI-generated assets are used for these materials. Content Created and Managed by the Developer The story, worldbuilding, characters, basic Anomaly concepts, and the folklore and supplementary materials related to the Anomalies are independently created by the developer. Game design and various specifications are also determined by the developer. For any content created with AI assistance, the final decision on whether to use the text, as well as quality control, is handled by the developer.
Generative AI tools were used during development for photos and videos of characters, as well as for development support such as code suggestions and iteration. All AI-assisted assets and code are fixed, reviewed, and integrated by the developer prior to release. The game does not use generative AI to produce live or dynamic content, text, images, audio, or code during gameplay.
Even if we prefer manual craft & procedural generation, some 3d Models/Cinematics in this game were created with the assistance of AI generative tools during production. However, think AI more as an automation/interpolation tool to win time and focus on gamers really want: innovative gameplay and FUN!
AI tooling and scripts were used in the development of the code base.
Some store-page and marketing imagery for Crown & Conquest (capsule art, icons) was created with the assistance of generative AI image tools. All gameplay, rules, audio, and in-game art are hand-authored, and the game does not use generative AI during gameplay.
Character portraits were created by transforming and editing licensed 3D character assets from PV Games using generative AI, followed by manual editing and refinement.
This game uses AI-assisted tools to create character voices. All dialogue was written, directed, edited, and implemented by the developer to fit the characters and story.
AI has been used to generate SFX files. If you know a real human that is willing to make these, let me know!
Generative AI was used only to assist with localization/translation partially. All localized text was reviewed and edited before release. No AI-generated content was used otherwise.
Generative AI was used to assist with some in-game text and voice narration. All content was reviewed and integrated by the developer.
The game was made only by me and my friend, we are starting out in this endeavor, and AI helped us a lot. The programming code was assisted by artificial intelligence. Some music might have been altered using artificial intelligence. Images outside of gameplay used to promote the game were adjusted using artificial intelligence.
Some of the game's 3D models (characters, monsters, and items) were created using the generative AI tool. Some in-game text translations were produced with AI assistance. All of this content was pre-generated during development, and we hold the appropriate rights to use it in the game.
Generative AI was used to assist in creating certain environmental textures, decorative artwork, and promotional materials. All gameplay systems, programming, level design, puzzles, story, and core game content were created by the developer and manually integrated into the game
I am currently a solo developer working hard to bring this project to life. To keep development moving during the early stages, you will notice some placeholder character portraits and backgrounds that were AI-assisted. My goal and commitment is to replace every piece of AI-generated content with custom-made, hand-crafted pixel art by the time of the official 1.0 release. All current monster designs, battle maps, and GUI elements are already original pixel artwork. I appreciate your patience as I work to ensure the final version of the game fully reflects my personal artistic vision!
Generative AI was used in the creation of reaction sound effects (burning, explosions, electricity etc.) only. All music and imagery is human-made and attributed.
Some store page text, marketing copy, and promotional planning materials for Black File were created with assistance from generative AI tools and reviewed, edited, and approved by the development team before publication. The game does not use generative AI to create content during gameplay.
AI helped code this game and helped with creating early pre-release marketing/storefront materials
Certain assets, music, and sound effects were created using generative AI.
I only used AI to help with the Steam assets (capsules, banners, etc.) and with some programming systems I was still learning, such as the save system and the rebirth system. I've been developing this game for about 3.5 months, and at some point you have to call it finished. I'm happy with how it turned out, and I hope you'll give it a try. It's designed to be a game you can open for 10–15 minutes a day, make some progress, and come back to later.
This game uses generative AI ONLY to assist with translations for some supported languages. Gameplay, puzzles, artwork, characters, and game design are created by the development team.
The art, music, and writing in this game were created with AI tools during development, directed by the developer through written prompts. The development process is documented publicly, prompt by prompt. The shipped game contains no live or runtime AI generation — the in-game assistant “Aya” is a hand-authored, deterministic simulation, and the game makes no network or model calls during play.
Generative AI was used during the development of this game to speed up the coding process and to create some 2D visual designs. No other AI tools were used in the creation of the game.
Generative AI assisted with: English localization (AI-translated, developer-reviewed), some store-page capsule art (generated programmatically), and store-page description text. No AI runs live/at runtime in the game. Core code, game design and original in-game sprite art were made by the developer.
Some visual assets used in the game, including selected 2D artwork and UI graphics, were created with the assistance of generative AI. All AI-generated content has been reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer to ensure consistency with the game's artistic vision.
This game makes use of generative AI as part of the creative pipeline across art, text, sound, and voice. None of it is dumped in raw — every asset is curated, edited, and reworked by hand, and every line of dialogue is agonized over until it earns its place. AI is a tool here, not the author; the taste, the pacing, and the final call on what stays are all made by people. The codebase, in the interest of full honesty, is held together with AI-assisted spaghetti and sheer willpower — but it works, and every line is reviewed before shipping.
Generative AI was used to assist in the creation of the visual assets displayed on the Steam store page, including capsules, promotional artwork, backgrounds, and other marketing images. AI was also used to assist in the creation of certain 2D visual assets used in the game. All AI-generated content was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer before being included. No generative AI is used during gameplay or by players.
This game uses generative AI in the following ways: In-game assets: Some game objects and assets were generated using Unity's built-in AI tools. Development assistance: Claude (Anthropic) was used as a coding and development assistant during development. Store page content: Store page descriptions and marketing copy were drafted with the assistance of Claude (Anthropic).
