Public Steam disclosure research 25,394 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
The game to contain art assets generated by artificial intelligence
Used only for cover images.
Some item names and interface translations into languages other than English were created with AI assistance, then carefully reviewed and edited by the developer. Parts of the 2D artwork were created with image generation tools, then carefully curated, edited, and composited by hand. Audio was created by people and comes from CC0-licensed sources with attribution. No AI content is generated during gameplay. The game does not generate AI content at runtime, and no player data is ever sent to any AI service.
A small amount of artwork, the soundtrack, and voiceovers were generated with AI.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with the creation and editing of some pre-generated visual assets, sound effects, and Steam Store page text. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, selected, and edited by the developer before being included. The game does not generate content using AI during gameplay.
Generative AI was used during development to create 22 music tracks with AI music-generation tools licensed for commercial use and to draft portions of the non-English localization and store-page text. All AI-assisted material has been reviewed and finalized by the developer. The game does not generate content or code with AI during play and does not connect to external AI services at runtime.
The game's art and animation content — including character sprites, animations, tilesets, UI elements, and store page artwork — was generated with the assistance of AI tools during development and then refined by the team. All AI-generated content was created during development; the game does not generate content while you play.
Generative AI was used to create promotional store artwork and marketing images. The released gameplay does not use real-time generative AI.
AI tools were used during development to assist with writing code, and to produce two categories of content shipped with the game: the original synthwave soundtrack (composed with AI music generation, curated and selected by the developer) and the interface translations for the non-English languages (reviewed by the developer). Some store page text was also drafted with AI assistance. All in-game worlds are generated procedurally by hand-written algorithms — no AI content is generated at runtime.
Some of this game's visual assets (character art, icons, and UI) were created with the help of generative AI tools and were manually edited and reviewed by the developer.
I am not an artist and I don't have money to hire one, so I used Gemini to create the cover art for the game. Sorry about that.
Pixel art assets, the soundtrack, and portions of the game's writing were created with generative AI, then curated and edited by the developer. The game's design, satirical concept, and systems are original human work. All sound effects were recorded by voice actors.
I built Curling Stars in close collaboration with AI tools. I directed every part of the game myself, the design, gameplay rules, features, venues, art direction, and testing, while an AI coding assistant wrote and iterated on the code, procedural 3D scenes, characters, and animations under my direction. The soundtrack was created with AI music generation, curated and selected by me. Rosters and characters are fictional. Store artwork used Gen AI tools.
Some of this game's visual assets (logo, promotional and store page images, character/enemy) were created with the aid of generative AI tools during development. All generated content was reviewed, curated and refined manually by the developer. The game does not use generative AI in real time during gameplay: all assets are pre-generated and static.
Some pre-rendered artwork and marketing assets were created or refined with generative AI tools under developer direction. The game does not generate AI content during play and does not connect to external AI services.
During the game's development process, the Generative AI was used as a development aid. AI was used in some game image production and code review and improvement proposals, and all final images and codes included in the game were reviewed, modified, and quality checked by developers. The AI-generated results were not used without review, and verification procedures were performed to ensure that they did not infringe copyright and third-party rights. In addition, AI does not generate content or code in real time during gameplay.
Power Pony Drift uses AI-generated content that was created during development, and every piece was reviewed, edited, and curated by the developer before being included: - Character models: The base 3D pony models were generated with AI tools, then hand-rigged, animated, and tuned for the game. - Audio: The music tracks and some sound effects and voice lines were generated with AI audio tools. No content is generated while you play — the game contains no runtime AI systems, AI chatbots, or live-generated content. Store page artwork is composited from in-game footage.

Title screen logo and some language translations
All in-game music except the main background track was pre-generated using generative AI. The music is used under secured commercial-use rights.
Generative AI was not used to create any game assets, artwork, capsule images, character designs, sounds, music, or voice recordings in Burger Smash. All in-game content was created by the development team or commissioned from human creators. AI tools were used to assist with translating in-game UI text and store page descriptions into multiple languages for localization purposes. No other AI generated content exists within the game itself.
This game is intended as a criticism of generative AI. The main premise of the game is fighting AI Slop as such we used existing AI images for the enemies and environment. We did not generate any of these images ourselves. All AI art used in the game is pre-existing and found on the internet.
Background Music. Story Pictures.
Some artwork in this game was created with the assistance of AI tools.
AI was used to troubleshoot code and to draft isolated sections of the codebase, which I then finalized. All graphics, UI, and music are made without AI. AI was used for initial translation from English into other languages. Many translations were then reviewed and edited by native speakers.
Generative tools were used to create and refine selected 2D illustrations, music, sound effects, localization, and store text. All materials were reviewed and edited by the developer. The game does not generate content using AI or connect to generative AI services during gameplay.
During the development of this game, artificial intelligence tools were used strictly for pre-generated content. Specifically, AI was utilized to assist with code refinement, the creation of initial concept art, and the design of certain user interface (UI) elements. All AI-assisted assets and code were thoroughly reviewed, modified, and integrated manually to ensure they meet the game's specific style and technical requirements.
Some assets, such as 2D illustrations and cursors, were created using AI-generated images. 3D objects were not created using AI.
Selected promotional artwork on the Steam store page was created with assistance from generative AI tools. This artwork was manually reviewed and edited by the developer. The application itself does not contain any AI-generated code or visual assets, does not generate AI content during use, and does not connect to external AI services.
OpenAI Codex was used during development to assist with writing, reviewing, and debugging portions of the game’s code. All AI-assisted output was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer. The game does not use generative AI during gameplay, and no player input is sent to a generative AI service.
Generative AI was used during development to assist with the creation of some pre-generated visual assets, promotional artwork, and localization text. All AI-assisted content was reviewed and edited by the developer before being included. The game does not use live generative AI during gameplay.
Some fixed music tracks and selected pre-rendered promotional and manual artwork were created with generative AI tools. No AI content is generated during gameplay.

We use AI to create the music and the narration audio.
Few of the game art / assets were AI generated
Some of this game's artwork — including key art, the main-menu background, and store/marketing images — was created with the help of generative AI (Midjourney) and then curated and edited by the developer. Everything else, including gameplay, code, sound, and the in-game pixel art, is human-made or from licensed asset packs. No AI-generated content is produced live while you play. Some in-game text translations were produced with AI assistance and reviewed for accuracy.
Currently, the game uses around 10% conceptual/placeholder AI-generated textures. All of these placeholders will be completely replaced prior to the 1.0 full release. The following are temporary AI placeholder textures: - Most UI buttons - Vehicle textures - The home screen - The mouse cursor - Most of the shop scene - All bridges The following are NOT AI textures (100% custom-made): - All enemy models and textures (minus the boss "evil reforged bot mk9001") - All item icons and textures - All levels (except for the underground bunker and frozen ridge, which temporarily share the home screen texture)
Some 2D, 3D artwork and sounds were generated with AI assistance.
Generative AI was used in a limited capacity for pre-generated visual assets and localization assistance during development. Temporary AI-generated artwork will be replaced with original artwork before the full release.
Some of the art assets in this game (such as sprites, icons, and background images) were created with the help of AI generation tools during development. All AI-generated content was reviewed, edited, and curated by the developer to ensure it is appropriate and fits the game. No AI-generated content is created during gameplay.
Generative AI was used for some in-game visual assets and certain store artwork. All generated content was reviewed and curated by the development team.
Steam capsule images and 2 GUI elements were made by GenAI. Everything else was made without any use of GenAI.
AI helps us in the basic design of new graphics and renderings for the various decorative elements at the marketing and in-game levels.
Since the game is still in active development, generative AI tools were used to create most of the artwork and text included in the game and on the store page. All generated content was carefully reviewed, heavily edited, and integrated by the developers.
3d Models for Space Ships created with Meshy. cooperation in Thinking, design and balance. C# coding. Unity Editor Agent for crafting suns and planets out of bought Unity Asset Store Assets.
This game uses prerendered visual content, store assets, and translations assisted by generative AI. All AI-assisted content is created before release. It is not generated dynamically during gameplay. The game does not connect to external AI services during gameplay.
AI tools were used to generate the initial voice lines and assist with translating the store page and in-game text.
Generative AI tools, including OpenAI ChatGPT/Codex, assisted during development with portions of the original C++ code, interface text, gameplay balancing, documentation, store-page materials, geometric visual design, and music synthesis. The developer reviewed, tested, selected, and integrated the resulting material. In-game graphics are procedurally drawn from original geometric shapes, while the original music and sound effects are synthesized by the game. No third-party characters, music recordings, voices, logos, or downloaded asset packs are included.
The game does not contain AI-generated content. AI-generated content is used just for Steam cover.
