We utilized generative AI tools to assist our human artists in the creation of certain graphic assets for the game. This primarily includes generating base concepts, textures, and background elements.
Our game utilizes neural networks for creating visually stunning and immersive environments. AI technology is employed in the production pipeline to assist in rendering backgrounds and character designs, ensuring a unique and high-quality artistic style. While AI aids in the creative process, all generated content is carefully reviewed, refined, and finalized by our team of professional artists to meet the highest standards of originality and quality.
We use AI tools to support various parts of our development process: Coding assistance: AI helps streamline parts of the game development by suggesting or optimizing code. Concept art: We collaborate with our artists to generate AI-assisted concept art, allowing us to iterate faster during early visual development. Marketing: Occasionally, we use AI tools in combination with our VFX and music teams to create promotional videos. Voice acting: We use AI-generated sample lines to guide voice actors during recording sessions and provide reference tone and pacing.
We used AI as a reference generation for our game
AI used only for promo materials: - Logos: AI-generated (image tools). - Trailer & banners: AI-assisted. All in-game content handcrafted. No runtime AI.
“AI tools were used to assist in creating certain visual assets, including store page images, main menu buttons, several in-game paintings, and one jumpscare image that appears during gameplay. AI is not used for gameplay systems, mechanics, code, or player interaction.”
AI is leveraged for game icons.
Generative AI tools were used to create visual assets including achievement icons, store page capsules, and marketing materials. Additionally, AI-based Text-to-Speech (TTS) was used for in-game voiceovers. All AI-generated content has been manually reviewed and edited to ensure high quality and consistency with the game's artistic style.
- Auxiliary codes (like bug fixes) - Study codes (big scripts bases)
We use AI-generated images for cutscenes, standing illustrations, and action resources.
Logo is generated by AI.
AI has been used to generate graphics.
AI was used in the game's thumbnail and was not used in the game's code or any other development resources. However, the aforementioned thumbnail and all other game resources were created by the developer.
ChatGPT corrected the translations and my spelling and grammar errors...
Artificial intelligence was used in this project to assist with generating and preparing graphic materials, including concept art and background elements. All gameplay logic, code, level design, and final implementation were created manually.
AI used to generate sprites and source information for trivia sections.
AI used for: cover art elements.
Some UI elements and 2D art assets have been made with AI. Some sound effects have been made or mixed with elements containing AI generated content. The store page capsule art background contains AI generated content.
AI was used for localization only (UI and dialogue). The following languages were translated using AI: German, French, Spanish, Chinese (Simplified), Japanese, and Russian. All original English text is human-written, and the Greek translation was also done by a human.
Some UI elements are generated using AI.
AI is used to translate the store page.
Generative AI is used only for pre generated assets: Voice lines in the indoctrination video (also used in the trailer) and the game’s logo in store materials. No AI is used at runtime, and all other content is handcrafted.
In our project, AI was used to partially create art assets, helping our artists bring some ideas to life.
We use AI in early conceptual design, to figure out an appropriate background art. We then go through several iterations manually with artist modifications, to produce a good, highly polished background that gels well with our characters, story and intended art style. Our characters are hand drawn by humans. Our objects are hand drawn by humans. All user interface (UI) elements are hand drawn by humans. All animations are hand drawn and meticulously rigged (also by humans) using bone animation.
The development process of the game used AI to generate backgrounds, characters images, and other images such as items for hidden objects, runes for match-3, and jigsaw images. Game logo was partially generated with AI. Additionally, AI was used to generate voice-overs and some part of localizations into french and German.
Use AI to generate logo and images
AI is used to assist with coding and general queries related to game development and the Godot engine.
Artificial intelligence was used during the pre-production phase to assist in concept design, reference generation, and the creation of a few 3D models and textures. No AI-generated content is created or modified during gameplay, and players do not directly interact with any AI systems within the game.
Used for Concept Art
Out of the 996+ files that make up this game, only 5 image files are AI generated. (Title screen, intro screen, game over screen) This game is made by a solo indie developer with licensed work from independent artists.
Game menu image, game logo and game library assets made with ai software
AI was used to create the main characters: how they look, sound and move. All cutscenes and dialogue are pre-generated with AI. All translations were done with the help of AI. Many in-game assets are made with AI or with the help of AI.
AI tools were used only for marketing materials (trailer). No AI-generated content appears in the game itself.
Localization (text and voice over) and logo of the game are made with AI. Some store front materials were made with AI.
We use AI for pre-rendered backgrounds; all other assets are handmade.
The in-game art assets are adapted from images generated on AI illustration platforms, and the music is produced with AI music tools or based on original tracks with added vocals, covers, or remixes done by the Ai music tool.
This game makes limited use of generative artificial intelligence only for background music creation. AI was used solely to compose music tracks where the lyrics are in Sanskrit, a language for which affordable and practical production resources are extremely limited. All sound effects, environmental audio, voice elements, and dialogue are entirely human-made, created by my friends or sourced from free and licensed platforms such as YouTube, Soundly, and similar libraries. No AI was used for visuals, gameplay systems, writing, level design, or core creative direction. This project is my first commercial game, developed with very limited resources. If this game succeeds, I am fully committed to not using generative AI for audio or visual content in future projects, and to collaborating exclusively with human composers and artists. Thank you for supporting independent development.
This game uses a small amount of AI-assisted imagery for some background or supplementary visuals. These assets were created using open-source AI tools and do not contain any copyrighted material. All main character designs, animations, gameplay graphics, and the overall artistic direction were manually created by the developer.
Pre-generated only. The game contains artwork and music created with generative AI before release. All visuals were edited and finalized by the developer in Photoshop. Music was generated with Suno and mastered for in-game use. No runtime AI is used — the game does not generate content while running. No user prompts or uploads are accepted.
AI Usage in Content Generation : Portraits and Illustrations: Initial portrait concepts are generated using AI tools. These generated images are then extensively modified, redrawn, and finished manually in Krita and Photoshop using a graphics tablet to ensure compliance with the game's artistic direction. Characters (3D Models): AI generative tools are used solely to create the base mesh for character models. These bases are subsequently refined, resculpted, remeshed, unwrapped, retextured, and animated using traditional softwares. Audio: All voiceovers and musical tracks are fully generated by Artificial Intelligence tools.
- Some voice lines, sound effects, and 2D assets created with generative AI tools (DALL-E, Eleven Labs) - Dialog and ideation developed with assistance from LLMs, primarily ChatGPT, but also including Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, and Claude Sonnet
AI was used to generate the majority of the visual assets and large portions of common code in Python, Cython, and Shaders. The models used span ChatGPT 3 to 5. No live AI generation occurs during game. All assets are pre-rendered and packaged.
we use ai to improve the context experience
Some marketing images (e.g. Steam header and capsule art) were partially AI-assisted and later manually edited.
AI assisted generation of most art resources
We use AI in early conceptual design, to figure out an appropriate background art. We then go through several iterations manually with artist modifications, to produce a good, highly polished background that gels well with our characters, story and intended art style. Our characters are hand drawn by humans. Our objects are hand drawn by humans. All user interface (UI) elements are hand drawn by humans. All animations are hand drawn and meticulously rigged (also by humans) using bone animation.
The promotional artwork used on the Steam store page was generated with AI tools. Also in-game art, sprites, animations, gameplay systems and assets were created with the help of AI.
The game uses artificial intelligence to edit text and create some assets (sounds and sprites). 95% of the game's assets are not AI-generated.
Some sound effects and supplementary music tracks were created using generative AI tools. No AI-generated visuals or gameplay elements are used in the game itself.
