Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Static images during encounters have been generated using AI. We hope to change this in the future.
This game was initially developed without using Artificial Intelligence. Later, I added scenes and images improved with Generative Artificial Intelligence. They are locally generated using Stable diffusion, without resorting to paying any generative AI company. Although paying them could have given me better tools and results, I decided not to pay for their use to support the claim of artists for fair royalties. (It is not possible to discuss such a complex issue here, but I will consider opening a discussion on the topic in the game forum, follow my game to be notified if it is created) Most of the artistic content in the game, mainly music, is compensated in various ways depending on the case to its artists. My original content is registered, but the images generated by AI are essentially treated as 'creative commons' and I consider them fanarts of my characters. All added scenes and backgrounds are of high quality and maintain good coherence, avoiding deformities in hands, eyes, etc., and without annoying or confusing shapes. All AI-generated images are generated, selected, and edited exclusively by me, the creator of the game, to reflect my original vision, previously inaccessible due to high costs. I have sought to include only select content that enriches the narrative and immersion of the game.
Because there are so many characters in the game, we used AI art (based on our own art style) to create a few characters towards the end of the game.

Localizations to languages with an in-game marking "BETA" (French, Spanish, Italian, Swedish) have been created using generative artificial intelligence.
This game uses AI generated images, mostly for background and object illustrations.
Use of AI-generated for some backgrounds
The illustration is created with AI and modified.
Quick note: The capsule art is AI-generated as a temporary placeholder, but I’m already working with an artist to replace and upgrade it with final artwork.
In Source of Madness, AI shapes the player experience by procedurally generating the Loam Lands, its monsters, and environments. Each encounter is unique, with neural-network-driven animations and behavior, ensuring that exploration, combat, and loot are always unpredictable and tailored to the player’s journey.
We’ve utilized AI to assist in the creation of certain visual elements, such as asteroids and ships, which are featured in the game. These AI-generated assets were thoughtfully integrated to enhance your visual experience. Please note, AI is not involved in gameplay or player interactions.
Some graphics, music, and translations were created with the help of AI and refined manually.
AI tools are used to assist with artwork and localization.
This game includes translations created with the assistance of AI and edited for quality.
Using generated images for the Steam store page icons
Parts of the trading cards artwork and profile backgrounds artwork were helped or enhanced by artificial intelligence.
We only use generative AI to create store page key art.
- Promotional Art - In game static art and some background graphics (which can be disabled in options)
Generative AI was used to generate images for Store Capsule Assets and Library Capsule, Header, and Hero Assets. The game screenshots and gameplay footage (trailer) were not generated by AI and are unaffected by any AI.
Translation into some (but not all) languages (in the game and on the store page) was made with the assistance of AI.
The storefront Logo for this game was created with the help of AI-assisted tools and was then further developed through manual work — modified, improved, and integrated to align with the game’s overall style and vision. No other AI generation was used in the development of this game.
Parts of the trading cards artwork and profile backgrounds artwork were helped or enhanced by artificial intelligence.
Some of our artwork is generated via an AI and then re-rendered by our artist.
Using LLM Code Agent for indie development speed up (no "VIBE CODING", it's originally human made project in 2012-2025, author starts using LLM as smart assistant code edit tool since December 2025)
The Art Director chose a composition for each background. They were then made by professional artists or, for a few, bought on Adobe Stock. Finally, the art director enhanced each background in Photoshop and also through LeonardoAI.
AI was used to generate the images of the characters in the default in-game database. There is also a 100% optional, opt-in only AI Chatbot assistant that can help provide booking ideas.
I use PhotoShop's generative AI, Replica Studios for some voice acting, and ChatGPT for some quest dialogue. I also use Mid Journey to generate graphics. Most AI generated content is temporary and will be replaced when/if the game ever makes enough money to hire people to replace them.
This game used AI translation.
We use Generative AI for a select few minor assets, but the vast majority of our game's content is proudly hand-crafted.
This game has used AI to partially create the following art assets: Slime character, Chain, Ball, Slime picture from the menu's and the slime imagery on steam.
This game uses AI assistance to generate some of its art and music assets.
Used chaptgpt 4 for generation and enhancements trading cards and community assets art.

By integrating OpenAI's technology, users can generate unique high-quality images that serve as components for their tabletop games. This feature requires a free external account created with your email address. The core application remains fully functional without registration.
AI is used to generate pre-rendered avatars used for heroes in the game.
Generative AI (DALL·E 3) was used in Steam community resources. Specifically in trading cards and emoticon art.
Pre-generated textures, items and characters images in the game
This project did not use tools to create content from text prompts. Because "Generative Artificial Intelligence" is inconcistently defined, following it the list all Machine Learning technologies I use. Many of them are widely used and not commonly considered AI, but meet the current dictionary definition of "computer system that has some qualities of human brain that is able to produce text, images, etc.", so I list them for full transparency: - Generating crew portraits with artist-driven sliders for facial features. - Creating portrait depth maps for dynamic lighting. - Upscaling promotional images. - Denoising rendered images. - Enhancing in-game ads with actor face replacement for realism. - Spell-checking, grammar-checking and rephrasing some text.
AI generation is used for graphical assets for marketing material only. Nothing in game is AI generated.
IA art only on store page
Art, translations, and music are pre-rendered using AI.
