Public Steam disclosure research25,380 disclosures tracked
Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
For the demo of Rise of the Vanguard, we have used AI generation primarily to create temporary character voices. This decision was made due to the realities of being a single-developer studio with no funding or external support, and these AI-generated voices are intended only as a stopgap until we can secure funding and hire dedicated professional voice actors. Beyond this, our use of AI has been limited to standard development tooling, such as IDE line-completion features and AI-assisted debugging, which are customary in modern software development. We do not use AI for narrative design, worldbuilding, or core creative direction, and we strongly support creative professionals and the long-term importance of human-created art and performances.
AI was used in the creation of the store page material. In game, there are a couple fake advertisement posters scattered for products and services. For example, the insurance advertisement seen in the game trailer.
Use of Generative AI
This game makes selective use of generative AI tools as part of its development pipeline.
Generative AI has been used to assist in the creation of certain visual elements, including concept art, some 3D environment assets, NPC prototyping, and promotional/store imagery. These tools are integrated as part of a broader creative workflow.
Some narrative texts, descriptions, and written content were generated, refined, or edited with the assistance of AI tools, based on original ideas, concepts, and direction provided by the author.
The core design, gameplay systems, level design, programming, balancing, and a significant portion of the art and world-building have been handcrafted and developed directly by the creator using industry-standard tools.
Generative AI is used as a complementary tool to enhance productivity and support creative iteration, while maintaining full creative direction and artistic control.
Our game uses AI for minor content improvements. Specifically, we have used an AI upscaling tool to enhance the resolution of some textures and images from our 3D models. The core 3D models and all original artistic direction were created by human artists.
AI made it possible to produce (2D) images during cutscenes. As well as certain vocal effects. For example to make slides telling the scenario. or for example the Hud.
Throughout the development of our game, we may leverage AI-based tools to assist our team in content creation. Please rest assured that what you see in the game reflects the creativity and hard work of our team. Examples may include pictures and/or posters used in some of our environments.
The game utilizes AI to generate human personalities and dialogue for you to interrogate and pick apart when making your decision to execute or release.
During the development of Zombie Kebab, we may use AI-assisted tools to support our creative process. These tools help us speed up production and experiment with ideas — but every asset, scene, and design decision is guided and refined by our team.
Some examples may include concept art, background textures, or decorative posters within the game world.
The photos in the store (excluding in-game screenshots) were created with the help of AI. The visuals in the achievements were created with the support of AI.
AI has been utilized in our game to add an extra layer of immersion. We've used AI-generated static background images to create captivating atmospheres within the game world. Additionally, AI-driven voice synthesis brings some of our characters to life, giving them unique and expressive voices. This use of AI contributes to a more engaging and dynamic experience for players.
In the game, artificial intelligence is used only in a few aspects, specifically for generating voice acting and music. All the music featured in the game, as well as the voice acting for characters, is entirely created using AI technologies.
All main character illustrations and story CGs in the game are hand-drawn by artists.
Some background images use free AI-generated background assets licensed for commercial use.
In addition, AI was used as a supplementary reference during the creation of certain scene assets.
AI tools were used to generate select artwork, including concept images, a few decorative assets, and a few censored fictional photographs as some Voicelines and Screams. Some of these depict intentionally exaggerated or eccentric characters that would have been impractical—or impossible—to stage with real models. All AI-generated assets were manually reviewed and edited before inclusion. No AI content is generated dynamically during gameplay.
Echoes Below uses AI-generated voiceovers as temporary placeholders for character dialogues. These will be replaced with professionally recorded voice acting during development.
We use the AI service to make chatting with some NPCs in our game more fun and some loading screens in the game. You will have to wait a while before you can talk to NPCs again. Also, this service requires internet.
