Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI used to assist in the creation of some images and textures.
logo and store image creation by ai assisted tools
I made the black forest the background by AI
All artwork is hand-drawn. AI-based upscaling/filtering was used to enhance resolution and details on some assets.
AI has been used to create the initial images for character faces and cut-scenes, but were heavily modified afterwards by the developer.
AI Driven Text to Speech Generation Some Images are created by AI
Some backgrounds, textures and assets have a significant amount of AI mixed with handrawn artwork.
AI Generated Capsule and Library Images
Carceri's story portrays a world made by programs, for programs. While ALL the writing, music, and 3D art in this game was created by a single human being, there is an Art Gallery in-game that contains 50 images, 17 of which have been generated by AI, (that are all clearly marked as such). These are fictionally portrayed as art works created by the characters (programs) of this world. No names of modern, living artists were used to generate these images. The prompts were words such as: Hudson River school, old masters, Delacroix, robots, abstract geometry, landscape. From there, I photo-shopped all images so that none are 100% unaltered from the generation process. Acknowledging generative imagery's existence is important to the world-building and meta-narrative of Carceri, so this was the fairest way I could think to include a small dose of these works, which are divisive by their very nature.
I drew the backgrounds and passed them through the AI, regarding the animations and others they were done 100% by me
AI was used to create voiceovers and image material for marketing purposes. No AI was used in the game itself.
Our game utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the visual experience for players. Through innovative AI technology, we've crafted stunning graphical assets that bring our virtual world to life. From environments to intricate character designs, AI plays a crucial role in delivering immersive gameplay that captivates players from start to finish.
Our game has benefited from the use of IA for the creation and enhancement of certain graphics
The music in the game was made with artificial intelligence.
The cover picture been generated.
Generative AI is used to render concept art for this game. Some textures or materials in future development may be generated using AI. I am a one-man team and use AI to help me visualize the design of the game.
Our game does not use generative artificial intelligence to generate content for the game, either pre-rendered or live-generated. However, due to budget constraints, we have utilized AI technology to generate voice lines for some of the NPCs in the game. Additionally, for the intro cutscene, we have incorporated AI-generated images. It's important to note that while AI has been used for specific aspects such as voice lines and cutscene imagery, no AI elements have been integrated into the gameplay mechanics themselves.
Skyboxes generated with AI and then edited with Blender and Photoshop
The artwork used for the logo and any retail box or marketing is AI Generated. It allows us to create a really cool logo on a low budget.
We use generative AI for localization support. AI is not used for in-game content or gameplay.
Most sprites in the game were initially created with Midjourney AI and then edited, rigged, and animated by hand. Voice acting was performed by a real voice actor and processed using AI tools and other audio processing tools. Music and SFX were all created by hand. There is no Live AI content generation in the game.
The names of the characters in the game are AI-generated
Due to insufficient manpower, AI is temporarily being used to create images for the store page. The images will be updated periodically.
Voice overs were pre-generated before the build with authorized AI voices provided by https://elevenlabs.io/
Backgrounds were created from AI generated images, which were then modified by hand to obtain their final pixel art form.
AI was used to assist in the creation of the game's menu screen art.
We helped with AI to generate several graphics in the game development. Also, a few animations in the game trailer were generated by AI.
I only got javascript code support. I got help with general game performance and code optimization. In no way was the whole or a large part of the game made by artificial intelligence. I just got help at some points where I got stuck and used it to speed up my work. All games have been tested many times by real players. We definitely do not publish games without testing them and seeing their errors.
The AI has been instrumental in my game for various purposes, including background music, texture generation, and assisting with design themes.
Some art assets are A.I generated.
Ai is used to assist in developing some NPC dialogue and written marketing materials.
Only utilization of AI for image (store page and ingame) creation by Canva.
An AI tool has been used to create background sketches of the main character. Aesthetic modifications have been made to remove artifacts generated by this application.
Pre-rendered sprites.
Due to limited funds, I employed AI to generate almost all of the 2D scene art assets and used AI for all language localization translations.
Music in the game is created using AI-generated samples. I also used AI-based tool to assist me with final touch of some environment backgrounds. Specifically as a filter tool to make the lines more shaky.
AI Voice Acting
The achievement icons are generated using AI
menu page background, and other static non-gameplay GUI oriented page graphics
The VO is run through an AI filter.
Cover and banners in the store page.
During the early development of Astro Felix, limited AI generated visuals were used specifically for select Steam artwork and a few temporary in-game placeholders. These assets were used solely to support of prototyping and vision shaping. Our goal is to replace all placeholder material with original art as development progresses.
Image AI for majority of UI elements and artwork Voice AI for majority of voices
A minimum number of sprites were created with Artificial Intelligence, for which input was provided from sketches and concept art made by the team.
I've used AI to generate some 2D textures and background images.
Used AI to generate the title screen and logo.
Some store assets have been AI generated
We used artificial intelligence as a tool for our artists. We created the visuals of our game with artificial intelligence tools, and our artists edited and finalized these visuals. We want to give you a unique experience by combining the convenience of technology with our art.
The visualisation of the characters for dialog portraits is accomplished with the help of AI generated imaging.
All assets in the game are either free to use or paid for. However, the Steam algorithm suggests that some assets might have been created by AI. The most likely candidate is the Santa asset, which is widely available online. I have receipts to prove my purchases, but they won't help if the original creators used AI without my knowledge. As a solo developer with limited artistic skills, I relied on AI assistance to create the shop page. If you are against the use of AI-generated materials, please do not buy this game. However, if you want to support a new developer, your purchase would be greatly appreciated.
